GIAN 06!!!
Yup, thats right. We will be co headlining this year's Give It A Name festival with MCR on April 29th and 30th. They will be our first big shows in almost a year and a half, so i would be there if i was you.
Here is the line up so far. Our day, which is Saturday in Manchester and Sunday in London is: Us, Taking Back Sunday, Angels And Airwaves, Goldfinger, Panic! At the Disco, Silverstein, Aiden, Classic Case and The Blackout with more TBC
My Chem's day which is basically the opposite days to us will be: My Chemical Romance, The Ataris, Atreyu, Underoath, The Bled, Men, Women And Children, Drive By, Bayside, The Honorary Title and Taint. Maybe with more to add, who knows.
Tickets for Give It A Name 2006 will go on sale Friday, January 13 at 9am. You can purchase tickets online by visiting www.aloud.com or by calling them on 0870 998 8888. I think its about 55 quid for both days, though you'd better check.

Team Building Excersise
So, the rest of the guys have decided to join the party and will now be updating and adding to our page, rather than it be just me (Ian). With this in mind, when you mail us, if you have a specific question for a specific person be sure to put their name in the title, so we know the score and Mike wont end up accidently reading Lee's 'i want to bum you' emails. If its just a band question then no worries.

fatman scoop
well well well.. Lewis here, we decided to ease the burden off watkins' shoulders and help out with the ol' myspace vibe.. So as he said, if you got messages for us just put our names in the title and we'll get on it like asap.
So we're still in Maui, muchos fun has been had all round!! Its been the most amazing experience recording here, one we'll always remember, if just for the near death experiences in the deep blue sea!! we're just about finished with this rock opus of ours, we head up to the great white north next week to put the sprinkles on, mix it and watch strange brew!! I cant believe how good it sounds, we all got pretty damn excited in the studio today listening back to some stuff, and it takes a lot to get us cynical, jaded ******** going!! its finally getting all systems go now, getting worked up to get back on the road and play some shows, watkins and jamie are busy getting some new killer shirts together, everyones gonna s**t!!
right peeps i'll be in touch, dont you kids go anywhere now you hear, dont take sweets from strangers... its a big dangerous world out there and you know you're safe with us

subject : nothing, no subject....just random
Canada, a place where alot of canadians live. Thats where we are. A big change in climate from hawaii, I had forgotten how miserable rain is. I wish I had warm hair too, who's stupid idea was it to cut it all off. Ian told me to write a blog so this is it. I have very little to say which is new for me. I am enjoying the comments on the photos that we've put up, especially the godsmack references. Bear in mind those photos are over 2 years old, since then my hair has fallen from my head and landed on my chin, making me look alot more like the dude from 'Dead mans shoes'. Nevermind, still got a few months to grow a fringe and climb up onto the bandwagon again.
News...news, what news can I share? Oh, three of us nearly drowned in hawaii (on separate occasions). The latest one for me was nasty. I dislocated my ribs while surfing and had a hard time getting to shore("Hark, mini violins"). Most annoying, since it was the first day we were there. Typical. Record is shaping up to be some of the best tunes we have ever written. We are all stoked at how it sounds and cant wait to get it out there. I am trying to answer as many messages as I can. It takes a while so dont get pissy if we haven't got back to you. I shall blog when there is more Blog to share.

Ok, so Jamie and i are sitting in our hotel room dumbstruck, by the simple fact that NONE of you are picking up on any of the irony or humour in our recent pic additions. We both spent a lot of valuable time last night taking these pics cause there was nothing on TV, and what do we get?? WE GET ******** NOTHING THATS WHAT!!! We get everyone completely missing the joke and the whole point. Dont say 'oh thats a typical myspace pic' YES WE ******** KNOW!! THAT WAS THE JOKE DUUHHHHHH. READ THE CAPTION. And dont even get me started on Jamie's masterpiece. He constructed a pic that looks identical to a still from a cult movie, and the best we get is 'you look like obi wan' or 'you look old'!!!! WHAT?????? WHAT????? How about, "******** jamie that looks identical to that movie still, you look exactly like the main dude in that movie! Thats pretty ******** rad! Hats off to you!!!"
Age is no excuse for ignorance luvvies. I dont care if your 12 or 80, read the caption. Dont just look at the pretty pictures and type the first thing in your head. It annoys us at 3am in the morning when we are looking at them. And it make us want to inflict pain upon you.
With all that said, we love you all dearly, Toronto is cold, and the new record is ******** magic.

skeleton....flat out...head first!
These crazy bastards go down head first at speeds up to 135km/h. Its called Skeleton, and its part of Luge and I dont get it. Firstly, at what point in ones life does one think...."hmm, I fancy bombing down some ice with my chin millimeters from the floor", and secondly, when does it come to the attention of a Luge scout? "oooooh check out that fella whizzing along on their guts....maybe we should drive 'em to the Olympics this year and dress 'em up in a one piece Lycra". I just cant see how half the winter Olympic sport came about. "YO Check this out! so I was trekking through the snow the other day, on my ski's obviously, when i see five cans on a wall about 164 feet away....fortunately I reached behind my back and pulled out a high powered rifle with a massive scope.....popped a cap in each can in less than 15 seconds and carry on my way.." "No way dude, every can you say? thats just rad......say wait a minute....how 'bout we base a frickin OLYMPIC sport around that experience of yours??".......I mean cummon!?!?!?!

Maybe thats because I am in Canada, and they do have to fill the gaps between ice hockey matches/games on telly with something.
Nah, just kidding. What it is yeah, is we are mixing. And that means quite a bit of sitting around while the songs get put together and made to sound like God (yes I said God). And that takes some time, so we watch telly.
I am a bit mean though..am I the only one who gets a bit of a chuckle when the ice dancers take a nasty fall?. Shouldn't laugh really, but hey, kinda asking for trouble skipping around on ice in nylon spandex...ooooh thats gonna leave a bruise..haha
So thanks to you guys that sent me get well messages about me dodgy ribs...all the love made them heal up quite nicely. And to think that I've been eating worms all this time cos nobody loved me.
I've gone and done something mad though, I nearly finished off my sleeve tattoo. I got my final sitting on Friday. It totally makes me look like a complete nut case now (now, like i didn't before???"dude wore makeup!!!"). Oh, dont tell my mom, she dont know yet haha. It looks so crazy, like its not even my arm.Wait a minute, maybe it isn't. I'm not too bothered though, by the time I get bored of it, I'll just grow a new one........hey, what's wrong with a bit of faith in stem cell research?
...back to the tattoo story.We met some dude on the plane who owned a tattoo shop. So we went down the the next day and all the artists in the shop were amazing and the atmosphere there was so friendly. Never been to a shop like that before, so we've all ended up getting some work done (except lee). Next time youre in Vancouver check it out, you must. Fun House tattoos. All the guys there have been looking after us and letting us know where the fun bars and clubs are so, a big thank you to them.
Ah s**t...I've written an essay again...bollocks..see, this is why Ian wouldn't let me on here.

Almoosssttt theerrr, allmossstt theerrreee....sttaaaay onn targettt...stayyy onn targetttttt...
Soooo...waddawedonowwwww???
We are pretty much at the final stages of mixing now. The record will be officially finished by next wednesday, which is mad. We started writing March 1st 2005, so its taken almost exactly a year to write, record and mix (with 2 months off in between). Seems like a long time, but then again it doesnt. From the crazy house parties in our Woking mansion, to the scene parties in LA, to the beach parties in Hawaii, to the crack parties in Vancougar, its all been fun.
I guess the weirdest thing now is letting everyone else hear it......cause im sure there will be a lot of people who are suprised. Im sure we will lose some fans and hopefully gain others. Its hard to say. To me the record sounds like a natural progression, yeah there are still aggressive songs on there but its not heavy persay, and considering where we have come from im sure there will be people upset with that. Its hard to say. I think the bottom line is that i give our fans a lot of credit and a lot of respect when it comes to their open mindedness, so we will have to wait and see. I guess its a tougher record, way more attitude. Less chugs, more spit, venom and pop.........
We are trying to decide the first single at the mo, and its hard. Do we go for a song thats obvious but safe (ie last train home pt 2), or go for one that will make people spit out their coffee thinking WTF???.......but ultimately grow to like it....
It's such a tough choice, cause we love all the songs, and there are songs of all types on the record yknow. If someone doesnt like the single then they may love other songs on the album. We have never been one of those bands where every song is a variation on a theme, we just cant do it, we have too many influences and ideas...so thats where we are at the moment...dillemma city....
Everything kicks off in a few weeks anyway, and im tired......

Just to add......
..or clear things up. When i say this album isnt as heavy, i dont mean its not as aggressive, cause trust me it is. It will blade you. I would go as far as to say that this new record has the most attitude we have ever put out on CD. The mindset is very similar to FSOP. It's like a perfect mix of both records. The maddness of the first, with the hugeness of the second. Full of attitude though, so dont worry too much. There's just not much cheesy heavy s**t i guess. It's tough trying to sum it up in words.......really is......
Bottom line is that we ******** love it...

March Madness!!
Ok so quick update incase anyone is wondering.
The album is done, mixed and mastered. We have chosen all three singles, didnt really play it safe, all three are pretty different. They all link together but i wont say anymore. I was about to leave LA last thursday and pretty much right before getting on the plane i got a call telling me i had to stay. Called my mom to tell her, and stayed. The reason being is that we pretty much have a confirmed released date for the album and we need to do everything else asap, like the cover, band pics, and of course the first video. So we are shooting the video at the end of the month in LA. Dont piss and moan cause we arent doing it in the uk, our friend is co directing with us (yes we are actually co directing) and we can get more value here at the moment. We have a pretty big concept for this whole record and the videos, so i hope everyone will be into it. Gone are the days of s**t videos and random skateboarders, i want to make ******** mini movies, to actually complement our songs, our art, and by jove this time we are gonna die trying. And making a mini movie is gonna be easier here for the moment, cause we can pull every favour under the sun. I dont wanna say too much, but i will say that this video is part of a much bigger thing.
Anyway, so until then i will be spending my time in production meetings, storyboard meetings, location scouting sessions and everything else. And in my spare time I will be desigining the album cover, and in my sleep i will be sequencing the record.
Stu is busy tidying up all the b sides, of which we have about 80 million. All pretty good, suprisingly enough too. Jamie is busy sorting all his gear out. For those who are interested we have changed out tuning again on this record. Not sure to what, but the rest of the guys know. I dont concern myself with that too much. So jamie has to re do samples and keyboard stuff ready for the live onslaught. Lewis is busy surfing, lunching and riding around in his range, and Lee is busy eating Indian in Brick Lane everyday.
We will all get together to start rehearsing here next week i think, while we are sorting the rest of the stuff. Then when we shoot the video, we shoot our pics, and then ******** off back home to blighty. Carry on rehearsing, and then boom, its on.
So thats the rough plan as it stands. Video will be on your screens late April, single in May, and album in June. Terry and June.
Thats all i can think of for the mo...ooh wait, also i did a shoot with Gerard Romance the other day. We all went up to say hi to the guys, cause they are living in a big house in LA writing their new record. So Gerard and I did a cover shoot for Kerrang, which will be out around GIAN i guess. I couldnt decide what to do with my hair, but my jacket owned. We had a laugh and it was nice catching up. Should be a cool feature. I say should, cause no doubt they will use retarded pics of me and i will want to cut my head off when i see them.
Ah well, cest le vie.....

Quick Update...
We are all still in LA, cant get out of the place. Been keeping ourselves occupied with working our asses off and seeing cool people that we like though. Not sure if the videos will be a trilogy now, it costs way too much, but who knows. Took the shots for the album packaging and promo today, and we shoot the video wednesday night. All coming together nicely....
Album is out JUNE 27th, unless it changes, then its not, but for now it is.... wink
Also stay posted for more cool news in the next few days.
