Her curls fell over her shoulder and she had to use a hand to keep it pushed back as she leaned in to smell the various dishes as they were presented. It was definitely a feast worthy of a princess, and it made Fauve flush a bit to realize that. He was treating her like she was really one of the royal family and not just a companion to the kings daughters. Her blue eyes drifted up to meet his face and she offered him another one of her smiles. "I wasn't expecting quite so much. If I had known I would likely have skipped dinner last evening to make room!"
Alright so she was trying to make light now, but truthfully she wanted to take him away from the memories. She could handle the mask as long as she didn't have to see the hurt in his eyes again. "Maybe when we're finished I'll show off my juggling skills for you. I don't often give private shows but I would be willing to for you."
That was a little over the top. She resisted the urge to clear her throat and just beamed at him and made her hands busy preparing dishes to be served.

His eyes flickered over her form as she bent to smell the dishes, she was lovely there was no doubt about it. He shifted uneasily in his seat attempting to push down an escape of strange emotion that he had been attempting to keep controlled. He couldn't quite place it and frankly didn't want to deal with it as he was certain he wouldn't be comfortable with whatever it was. The feeling that was quickly pushed away before it could truly form, he'd already hammered it into himself before. He couldn't let himself get carried away, he couldn't let himself care...at court it always lead to heartache if you did.
Laughing slightly he smiled glancing to the dishes, "you can try just a bit of each. So you will be able to taste it all and get a good meal." He'd vanished his doubts almost completely and reached for one of the bowls of soup, pausing he frowned faintly. The soup had been packed in the ceramic bowls but still didn't feel quite warm enough; taking his hands around the bottom of the bowl he willed heat to his hands not enough to start an actual fire but enough to warm the soup.
His attention was pulled from the task at hand hearing her offer of a show, looking up from where he had been staring at the soup he looked at Fauve a moment his eyes somewhat wide. His mind had shifted to a place he hadn't meant to let it go and for a moment his garnet eyes flickered to her rather lovely assets. Hurriedly he put the soup down on a towel he had brought with the picnic, he didn't want to drop it after all. Clearing his throat he got control of his wandering thoughts and smiled slightly, "a show...free or otherwise performed by you would be most interesting to me."
Unrolling some linen he uncovered various silverware, "before any performances you must eat." Smiling slightly he unwrapped some fresh rolls from the inn and with a quick motion used a butter knife to smear a bit of honey butter on it. With a slight grin he tears a piece of the roll off and holds it out offering it to Fauve, holding it so she can eat it directly from his hand.
