faerietiger I remember the day I found out...I was only 11 or so, and I really didn't care about the Beatles individually, because I had just gotten a CD of them less than a year before he died. But I knew their music was great. My mom was sitting on the sofa, reading the paper, and she turned the page to reveal a page-long article on George as well as a full body photo of him in a suit when he was younger. Mom: "George Harrison died...I think she was my college room mate's favorite..." (No tears) Me: "Oh. Who?" Mom: "One of the Beatles." Me: "Oh. Ok. Whatever." Sorry George, I didn't know any better. redface I remember hearing about it on the radio. sad I got to the Daytona Classic Rock station and just sat there in bewilderment as they told me George was dead. Then they resumed to the Beatles A-Z song tribute (I think they were on E) and I started crying. cry

I've been talking with some of the teachers at my school who are Beatles fans and their favorites are George too. It made me laugh and feel jealous all at the same time. sweatdrop

I was drying my hair as I came out of the shower, and I heard the radio deejay announce it. It took a while to sink it, since it was like 6:00 in the morning and I was still in the process of waking-up.
I was pretty shaken; I moped around all day. ;__;

How I love this man, let me count the ways...
George has always been my favorite Beatle; something about him just...mesmerized me. Even as a little girl watching Yellow Submarine, I always thought he was the coolest. I used to walk around the house saying "It's all in the mind".

it's alright; get's the basic message across, but I could have done with a picture of him, as well. ^-^;; I've got a few Beatles icons uploaded on my DA account. Some of them are kind of 'slashy', though, so be warned. Nothing obscene, just some implied kissy-kissy. <333 http://icks-el.deviantart.com

George means the world to me, end of story. His music has helped me realize and think about things I would have never thought of a few years ago, and I've changed for the better. *builds a george shrine in her closet* smile

...Why isn't this further up the page? surprised
George rocks. He was such a silly person, but it was tempered with spirituality, and it mixed for a plain awesome man. 3nodding

George used his Beatle-fu to kick Icy into this swimming pool that everyone else (plus me) was swimming around in. whee

I watched this concert thingy the other day at a friends house. Had Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and of course, George. And maybe a couple others... Eh. But as soon as I saw George sing, I started to cry. Cause he looked so pretty and he sounded so pretty. o_O And he looked like he was having a good time. Aww... 4laugh
