 Yep that was a given. I kinda expected it from the get go. I mean the resemblence was crazy, and how Laguna's past is tied to the story through visons really gives it away.

h3artilly Laguna first fell in love with Julia but Laguna had to leave for his missions in Esthar. Julia then meets General Caraway and they have a daughter named Rinoa. Wounded from Laguna's missions, Raine takes care of him and they end up falling in love. Raine then dies from giving birth to Squall, and Squall and Ellone are sent to the orphanage.

Well, it's not explained outright, I don't think... but where else would she go? Raine was taking care of her; then she died, and Laguna was off being president of Esthar.

Yup it's true... Although Squall is almost nothing like Laguna he is much like Raine- Independent etcc...

i think that yeah, squall and laguna do have alot of similarities...but on the other hand, laguna nvr had a son with raine...or he wouldnt have been so close to ellone...its human nature for ppl to make connections where they dont actually exist

Well, she was all alone. Usually, 'uncle'/'aunt' is the term you give a person who's been almost family to you, since Ellone didn't have any family...(that I know of) she kept close to Laguna, and he is not the kind of person who would ignore her. It would have been cool if Laguna took care of Leon! heart sorry, spacing out...

I would think that Laguna and Raine were seperated because of Esthar. The Esthar kidnapped Ellone, which was Laguna's niece, which causes Laguna to chase after her. If you remember (I forgot which part), Raine cried for Laguna (I think while giving child birth), but never came back. And at the end during "Eyes On Me" (ending sequel) Laguna proposes (weirdly) to Raine. If you put those two scenes together, it's like two puzzles. It shows that Laguna married Raine, and when Esthar kidnapped Ellone, he left her while she was giving childbirth. I really doubt the developers would have not put childbirth into the game if it were not important.

Actually, while Raine is Squall's mother and Laguna his father, Ellone isn't related to either. I'm pretty sure that according to the game, Raine adopted Ellone after Esthar Troops killed her parents after they refused to give her up.
