Hugo flashed back to when the ship had first crashed. Hugo had felt its pain. He pressed his hand to it, wanting to see if it was suffering. He got a feeling, a pleasent one, like someone with a sore back getting a massage.
"Nah, the Kraken likes it," Hugo said.
He frowned, looking at the ship. Even if they fixed it, the paint job was trashed.
"Time for a new paint job, Buddy."

Gustave grinned. "A new paint job? I could handle that, as well, if you'd like. In fact, I've got a friend with a shop nearby that we could use. His work usually involves ground vehicles, but he could be persuaded to let us do your ship there."

"Thanks, he can do whatever he thinks looks nice, as long as these stay," Hugo said, pointing at the yellow eyes that seemed to follow you around on the back of the ship. He couldn't get rid of them. After all, it was the ship's trademark.

"As soon as we're finished repairing it, we'll go speak to him," Gustave said as he took a drink from a canteen on his belt. "Shouldn't be much longer, I'd wager. Just got to finish the external repairs, then some electronics to fiddle with."

Hugo nodded. He could fix anything electronic that had been damaged. He went inside, fiddling with things. Didn't look as if there was too much internal damage, mostly external.
Budgie was finishing up the outside. She smiled, proud at her work.
She took a seat on top of the ship and asked, "Did I do a good job?"

Gustave nodded, grinning. "You did excellent. If you're ever looking for work, kid, I could use an assistant like you," he said.
Vauluin took a step back, looking over their work. "We finished already? That certainly was quick."

Hugo stepped out, looking over his ship. He smiled, happy to see it had been salvaged.
"Thanks so much for your help."
Budgie leapt off the top of the ship, landing on top of Hugo and knocking him down.
"I did a good job!"
Hugo nodded, as he got up and was given a big bear hug from Budgie. She was quite happy to help her new friend.

"It could use a new paint job, if you ask me," spoke a voice behind them.
Vauluin turned. "Oh, Diaz." He hesitated. "Perhaps this is not the best time."
"Nonsense. I came to speak to Yatheia. Is she inside?" Diaz asked, pointing towards the house.
"Yes, sleeping." Vauluin frowned.
"I don't mind having to wake her." The young man looked at Hugo and held out his hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself earlier. I'm Diaz."

Hugo frowned at the hand and picked up a bunch of tools to fill them.
"Sorry, full hands," he said, then added. "I'm Hugo. Yatheia's boyfriend." He turned away. He didn't want to be rude to Vauluin by treating his friend badly, but he couldn't look at Diaz after he hurt Yatheia or he might deck him.
Well, if Diaz had anything to say to Hugo it would have probably fallen from his list of things to do as Budgie crouched in front of him with her teeth in a snarl. She had heard Yatheia's earlier hostilites to Diaz, and if Yatheia and Hugo didn't like someone, she didn't either.

Diaz took a step back, drawing a small blade from his sleeve.
"Watch it, girl," he cautioned, unaware of how dangerous Budgie coud be.
Vauluin stepped forward to stand in between Diaz and Budgie. "There's hardly need for such unpleasantness." Taking the knife from Diaz, he pocketed it. "If you want to speak to Yatheia, I'll go wake her."
Diaz nodded. "I think I'll go inside, then," he said as he walked to the house next to Vauluin.

Budgie followed after, recieving a look from Hugo. She was going to make sure she was there incase he tried any funny business. She had to protect her Yatheia, after all.

Vauluin led the two up the stairs to Yatheia's room and knocked on the door. "Yaya?" he called, opening the door slightly.
Yatheia rolled over and groaned. "Yeah, Daddy?"
"Someone here to see you." Opening the door, he let Diaz in.
Yatheia looked up and scowled. "Leave," she commanded.
"I think not, dear." He turned to Vauluin and Budgie. "Would you mind giving us some time alone?"
Yatheia stood. "Whatever you have to say to me, you can say in front of my father and friend. A shame Hugo isn't here, eh?"
Diaz frowned. "Fine. Yatheia, I want you to give me another chance. I made a huge mistake, and I'll do anything I can to make it up to you." He hesitated, embarrassed. "Please."
"You had your chance, and you blew it," Yatheia said as she walked past him, Budgie, and her father. Exiting the house, she walked up to Hugo hugged him very tightly, not saying anything.

Hugo was a little surprised that he suddenly found himself in Yatheia's arm. He hugged her back, knowing Diaz is bothering her. If he comes out her to bother her anymore, he'll be spitting out teeth for a month.
Budgie ran after, happy to see Yatheia hadn't been hurt.

Yatheia squinted back tears of frustration, wiping her eyes on Hugo's shoulder. "Hugo, let's leave. Right now. Okay?" Reaching away from Hugo, she stroked Budgie's hair gently. "I don't want to be here anymore."
Vauluin sighed. "Give it up, Diaz. Our Yaya's fallen for that kid."
"But he's just a little wimp! She can do better!"
"I don't know. He seems like a good guy. I kind of like him."
Diaz groaned and sat on Yatheia's bed.
(Agh, it's been too long. I have to get back into this.)

"Of course," Hugo said, taking her and Budgie's hand and leading them back to the Kraken. It still could use with a good paint job, but heck, they wouldn't be recognized now, at the very least. She loaded them all back onto the ship, the Kraken beeping, tired, but happy.
"Let's get away for a bit. A vacation since our vacation to Earth kinda got ruined. Just well...the whole family I guess."
Budgie's eyes sparkled, "Family?"
