Personally I don't believe that anyone should be asking which pictures they should be submitting for contests. If you don't like certain pictures of your own then perhaps it's time you take/find new ones. Nobody knows your pictures better than you do.
Another thing that has bothered me in the past is captions placed under pictures attempting to explain the situation or the justification of it's palce in a contest. I don't believe that this should be necessary at all. In a picture contest your picture should speak for itself and need no caption.
Therefore I will abstain from telling anyone which pictures I think they should be using for the contests.

I agree 100%. Especially about the captions.
I shouldn't need an explanation on why your picture fits the category. I should be able to tell by looking at it. If I can't, then the picture does not represent that contest, only your memory of a story that may fit the theme.
