Up close, the rock face resembled something like a walrus head with a jagged but sagged neck that rose up to the mouth of a cave with two large stalactite-like "tusks." Behind the rock face, one could start to see that it was larger than one had previously thought. There seemed to be a "body" to this "walrus."
"We're going up!" Higis spoke as he jogged lightly towards the rock formation. The "pathway" to the mouth of the cave was not only slick from the ocean water constantly hitting against it, but there was also some slippery moss that had grown along the path (although the more frequented areas had very little moss.)

"Of course it is~" Higis smiled before the other two boys, in unison added, "Not." "Hey! It's fine if we play here! No one else will bother us!" the boy spoke, already starting to climb up. Ran and Shorn didn't respond to the boy, but their facial expressions already spoke that there was good reason no one came there.
"Don't worry though! We'll catch you- or Higis-"
"HEY!"
"-if you slip," Ran spoke pleasantly, not sounding the least amount worried.

Ran and Shorn followed after Mickey, keeping a safe distance between each person someone had some slip/recover room. Higis was, by far, the fastest climber and had only slipped a couple times, recovering almost like a monkey. In the end, however, Higis also ended up as the only one of the boys that had gotten scratched up, having small scraps in quite a few places.

"To the mouth! It's just a few more feet!" the boy grunted, though he sounded quite happy that he had company coming with him. It would only be about an hour before the sun would set and it already seemed that the tide was rising, lapping the once dry sand that the four had started on.

Higis finally made it to the opening of the cave and rolled into the much cooler area. The smell of salt water seemed to be even heavier within the cave, but it wasn't strong enough to be overpowering. The red-headed boy had a content expression on his face as he caught his breath.
"We'll have to be up here for a while, you know?" Ran's voice came from below. With the rising tide, he knew what kind of animals came closer to the shore.

"I'd say we won't be back until a while after Chandra appears in the sky," Ran spoke, smiling, "The sand is so warm right now I'm sure the sea sernts will be all over the area as soon as the water level is high enough."
"So what? That just means we'll have lots of time to look around! Besides, there's enough salty spitbats to light the way," Higis replied as he watched Shorn pull himself into the cave, shortly followed by Ran.

Ran and Shorn seemed to be relaxing, watching the water rise higher and higher. Higis seemed to be ready to go, but the for the sake of his two friends, he managed to stay put for a few minutes. However, when those few minutes ended, he was quick to stand to his feet and head into the cave with a smile on his face. It would be a couple hundred feet before the inside of the cave would slope down to about half the height of that at the cave's mouth.

After the slope, the rocky terrain slowly became narrower, being surrounded by water until there was only a 4-inch rock beam to walk on. The smell of the water could easily identify it as salt water. On the ceiling of the cave, there were many different colored bat-like lizards that had the ability to glow, giving a dim lighting to the ever darkening cave. The animals hanging from the ceiling would occasionally chirp, which sounded like a liquid drop falling into a pool of water.
Higis was careful with his footing though by the feel of his swaying, one could easily say that he had very little balance while doing so. The beam was nearly 50 feet across and at the end were a total of five passages, each looking identical to the next. It was in front of the passages that the red-headed boy stopped, looking as though he were pondering the next course of action.
