Pheaura used her mind to pull up a chair. She loved hearing stories about the acient civilizations and she wasn't about to interrupt Nailah's story.

He hmms quietly... " They're difficult to explain. as an Angel, i'm sure you know about the varities of witches, and that they're predominantly a matriarchal progression...some glitch in the eventual genetic compounding produced a Y chromasome. So i've got a thousand generations of witchs' powers running through my veins, with the inability to harness it. Strangely enough, my father's of the Nanaya clan, a family of Oni Kirimaru from the east, almost as ancient as the Tohno family, but not quite. "
He eats quietly..
" But to be specific, most of my abilities are just trained skills, i've been on the run all my life. My blood is the rarest substance in existence. You can kill gods with it, or become one yourself. I wear this eyepatch to keep myself sane."

Nailah sighed. "It's a blessing and a curse all in one. Just another Egyptian paradox really. But I'm not sure you really want to hear the story. It's not a happy one and it doesn't exactly have a happy ending, although it does explain a great many things about who I have come to be."

Pheaura went back to the kitchen and heard Fu's story. She was more interesed in who this new character was. "Really. Witches? That's certainly interesting. I come from angels, as I'm sure you know. Don't worry about the people chasing you. If they need dissuasion look no further then me. I'd be happy to help you."
((Sorry, Fu looked like he was offline for a second on my comp))

"Nailah, I am over five thousand and something years odd old by now, and have all the time in the world to hear stories. My own story if full of unhappiness and such and paradoxes that would probably put yours to shame." She paused for a moment. "Could believe that I went from an honored High Priestess to a lowly tomb robber on my own decision?" She raised an eyebrow at Nailah as Eclipse came over, placing his head in Aura's lap.

"Well Aura I must say you have me beat by about two thousand years. Obviously the amount I have seen is nothing compared to what has passed in front of your eyes. But if you really want to hear the story, I suppose it is the least I can do. After all you are allowing me a place to stay. The question now is simply do you want the long or short version. Both have pain and neither are truly joyous....but it is your choice."

He smiled politely, though he didn't doubt her ability, he doubted her sincerity, now that he knew angels were real, his past exploits made more sense, as well as some of the stories his mother and grandmother had told him. Angels may be divine, but they're not perfect.
"...originally i used a pair of glasses given to me by my mother Aoko to 'nullify' the Nanaya's slaying technique, 'Eyes of Instant Death'...the glasses broke while in the scuffle that lead me here...the blind tones it down to a bearable point. Every thing has lines that bind it to the earth, and to existence. If i cut the lines, they wither and die sowly. if i cut along the lines, i can cut anything to 17 pieces as if they were paper, and if i pierce the dot, they are simply erased from existence, as if they never were. The lines were so many, they were a fog. i was virtually blind. with the binder on, I only see the core lines. It's like looking at everything with a hundred years of cobwebs attached, rather than a millenia."

"Whichever spares you the most pain. I've seen my share of pain from my friends when I dragged their pasts out, I believe that I shouldn't do that any longer...so it's your choice really." She reached a hand down , scratching behind Eclipse's ears.

((I'm afraid I'm not going to bother explaining my absence... It's been a troubling time... To sum it up, worries set in, mind dredged down, and am just now getting out of it. Sorry to have dissapeared, I need to get the darkness out of my head...))
Saradin gazed at his completed work, the restored edge of Soulforge almost glowing of its own accord. The night had already set in long ago and he desperately wanted some sleep. But, sleep would be difficult, he could feel his trouble near, and it was only waiting for the right time to strike. "Tomorrow then..." He doused his forge and walked back into the house, hoping to be rested when the battle came.

((no worries. Welcome back.))
He reached into his sleeve and produced what looked like an obsidian gem, about the length of a pen, shaped like the Monolith of legend, with a katakana symbol carved into the bottom, filled with white paint.
" ....this is a shard of the sacred sword Onikirimaru. I call it Nantsuya. my blinder has another shard, forged into a sheet with my family crest on it. The rest of the sword still exists.....but it's been put into stasis."

Pheaura nodded. She understood...for the most part. She laid her hand on his arm. "I meant what I said. You have a good soul. I can feel it. Even good people do bad things sometimes. Take a look at me. I'm a symbol of good: an angel. I have hurt someone dear to me becuase I was confused, and angry at myself. I took it out on him. I understand that you can bring death to people. But I believe you will judge them fairly." She removed her arm to cover her mouth in hopes of stifling a yawn. "I apologize. I am tired. It has been a long day and no one has told me what happened to me since I had that fever. Have a good night Fu. I enjoyed your company. I hope we can talk again soon." Phea turned and left for her room then.
((Night everyone. I gotta work early tomorrow, but I get the night off, so hopefully I can get on. Saradin Haven't seen you in a while. Hope you feel better. If you can get on tomorrow night please do. I would like to RP with you again))

He nods, barely repressing the revulsion he felt at the touch.. It wasn't anything personal, he's just strange that way. It's not some decision to not like her, just the makeup of his blood taints some of his feelings and remarks, though he's conscious enough of the taint to adjust accordingly.
" Yes....the same to you Lady Pheaura."
He turned, and in a Shinobi moment, devoured the rest of the cake and ran out of the room, leaping from wall to wall.

Nailah moved to stand by the bookshelves and was silent for what seemed like an extensively long time. When she spoke her voice was low and she kept her face averted.
"It happened a long long long time ago. I was just a normal nineteen year old Egyptian girl. I had been studying to be a priestess and recently had completed all my studies. But still I remember now that I wasn't truly focused on the priestess-hood and all it entailed. I was searching...for unknown answers...but that is a different story for a different time. It still doesn't make much sense even now...thousands of centuries later. You would think with all the time I have had to ponder it I would have come up with an answer by now. But...I haven't and it will probably remain one of those unsolved mysteries in my life.
Anyway I was in Giza...I believe it was Giza...anyway I somehow was poisoned. The healer had never seen the particular poison before and there was no known antidote. So she was left with a terrible choice. I was consumed with a fever and chills and in so much pain, I just wanted to die." Nailah broke off and shuddered with the memory. She paused as she was taken back in time to a place only she could visit and a time best forgotten. "While I lay at death's door the healer met with another healer...one that dealt in more unsavory methods. She made a deal and while I am not entirely certain what that deal was, it was made.
My healer administered a potion. It was a powerful potion and was not to be used without a great deal of reflection and consideration. The potion simply put did this: it would heal any ailment the victim was suffering, even if they were an inch from death. But a terrible side effect lingers on. The victim is forced to live an extended life and never age. They remain the same age in appearance they were when the potion was administered. It seems that for me another side effect manifested itself in my particular case." Nailah paused again considering how best to explain her unique talent.
"See you have to understand that I was always an empathetic child. Curious as well. And these two characteristics often led me into situations where I would endeavor to...relieve someone else's pain. Carry another's burdens if you will. The potion heightened this...sense that I have. I feel other's feelings. Not just their pain, but their happiness and anxiety. Sorrow and pain. Joy and wonder. I have a sense that is so sensitive that I can almost tell exactly what a person has lived through. The kind of pain they have seen throughout their entire life and all the moments that they were truly happy."
She turned and her eyes were vacant and faraway. She began to move around the room, reverently touching books and every once in a while stopping to absentmindedly stroke Rasui's head. "In shorter terms I will live an almost eternal life but I will live it through other people's feelings. And I remain a person who continues to try to fix all the problems of the world. Even though there are so many it overwhelms me. There are times when I curse that healer for what she did...but then I can't help but think that she made a decision and at least this way I will get to experience love and happiness with my own share of sorrow and pain."

((Haha, she almost beat your post Saradin! xd ))
Aura stood there in silent consideration. After a moments time she spoke. "That's quite a story and situation...almost immortal but not...and burdened with others feelings. That what you meant when you said something about Khenu, and myself...makes sense now."
