Blaine sighed, his patience still gradually lessining.
"You do not seem to understand. I've already explained to you, I have no problem with theives. However, robbing from little kids or the eldery, is going too far... I'm aware you're a theif, Aura, I do my research..."
Unlike SOME people...
He thought to himself, chuckling as he looked at Aura. He sighed again though.
"I don't want to get on your bad side, Aura. I'm not trying to start anything, or get myself a bad reputation. I just got mad that he was stealing from a kid... and though I'm not sure I believe him..."
He turned to Darius, and nodded at him.
"If you truely are telling the truth about playing with him, kid, I apologize for my actions."

He was earning a reaction from Aura alright. Research? He couldn't possibly know everything about her. No one did except for herself and the wolf that had been with her for so long. She never left paper trails at least she thought she hadn't. He even addressed her by nickname. Now she was a little unsettled. Unsettling Aura was a hard task in itself. Her look softened towards him and now she merely just stared in his general direction. And here she thought that Darius had been her most recent wonder.

Blaine looked back at Aurahkah, and noticed that her face had softened... but he didn't think it was because she trusted him, yet. A puzzled look on Blaine's face, he seemed to be debating whether or not to ask what the problem was... finally, he chose.
"Umm... did I say something wrong, miss?"
He hadn't been trying to upset her or anything, so he was hoping he hadn't screwed up somewhere in his talking. Scanning his mind, he 'reheard' what he had said in his mind, playing it back.
No...nothing SEEMS wrong there...
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure of what I did... could you explain, perhaps, milady?"

"That's it, just playing, on my honor, not theif's honor, just honor in general." Darius bounced back generally well considering his usual reactions to situations. He didn't care, someone had defended him. He tapped Aura lightly on the shoulder, "You knew I was a theif beforehand?"
He then side glanced Khenu's rang and noticed the blade. So that's why he was catching it a certain way, good thing I followed his lead or I would have one bloody hand....

Aura shook her head at the tap on her shoulder and snapped herself out of the slight trance she had slipped in to. She blinked at Blaine once and adapted all to well that gracious hostess facade she was known now for. Warm smile in place she respond to him. "No, nothings wrong." She then glanced over her shoulder to Darius. "Yes I knew...if you had been a thief as long as I have been, it's easy to catch. I just didn't say anything due to a thieves honor...I'm sure you know all about that. But try to refrain from stealing what I've already stolen would you." She then returned attention back to Blaine. "Forgive me if I seem a tad...uptight. My guardian is currently out and about and after recent events, it makes me slightly uneasy."

Blaine shook his head calmly at Aura. Since they were no longer arguing, his mood towards her changed drastically as well. Smiling back, he spoke.
"There's no need to apologize, m'am. You were just doing your job. And recent events?"
He had only been here a short while, and therefore had no idea what kind of 'events' she was talking about.
"Why? What happened?"

Khenu bit his bottom lip. Too many emotions and feeling floating around. It was making him feel weird himself. In a gesture of trying to occupy himself he took to fingering the ruby that was inlaid into his boomerang.
At least he wasn't getting sick to his stomach like yesterday. Especially since Niah wasn't around. Though is she was here right now, it probably wouldn't be a good looking situation considering how strong of an empath she was.

"Well...there's been a whole problem with the shadow plane lately, causing quite a stir in the manor. But most recently an angel that takes up residence here has spoken of a demon breeding portal to hell. One that has yet to be located and I've been under a bit of pressure to find it." One had fiddled with the golden bracelet around her wrist as she stated things so matter of fact.

"Thank you, now that I've rid myself of certain boneheaded authority, I'm trying to get out of it actually." He kicked at the ground softly with his boot.
"Sure you are. You will never get away from me now."
Darius turned to Khenu and noticed him fidgeting, "Come on. I want to ask you about something." He walked just inside the manor and waited.

At the mention of a demon breeding portal, Blaine's eyes widened, and his ears perked up. He had heard that one of them was around here, but he was hoping it was just a rumor. He so did NOT want to have to go back to his job so soon... however, there's no rest for the wicked.
"Demon portal you say? Let me help you find it... please."
He was a demon hunter, and a good one at that. Many demon hunters you'd hear about were just idiot humans who thought they stood a chance against them, and ended up getting themselves killed. Blaine had already managed to kill hundreds - if not thousands - of demons single handedly. His ambition was to kill off their species (the normal ones, not those few goods ones who could think for themselves), and rid the planet of them. Destroying a breeding portal would bring him one step close to his goal. One BIG step.
"I've been looking for things like that for some time now... finding another one would help my ambition greatly, and don't worry - it's not a BAD ambition. If you're curious about it, I can tell you... but for now, please. Allow me to assist you in finding it."

Khenu reluctantly let go of Aura's hand and in a quick flash phased to be where Darius stood appearing from the phase no more than two feet from Darius since he had used him as a location marker.
Fingers messing with the claw around his neck he looked up to the older boy. "So....what did you want to ask me?" Hopefully Khenu wouldn't find himself under threat of a severe beating for something he had done...oh like telling Bastet things about the teen.

Aura tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "So that's what brings you here." She sighed. "Despite common contradiction...I'm not all that too worried about the thing. This place has been through such things before...but that was a different time. I guess you can feel free to have a go at it. But since you are going to be staying here during your hunt, you should get yourself a room first, maybe something to eat."

Darius backed away as if to try and give the boy more room for comfort, and he shrugged. "So you can play with lightning too? It still amazes me how so many weird people gathered here and don't care about differences. Honestly, when I went invisible in front of you, I didn't want anyone else to see because I thought they'd try and kill me or something. And no offense, but I figured they wouldn't believe you, but it's different than I would've figured. They don't care."
He sighed and leaned against the nearest wall, "Just wondering, did you tell anyone?" The portal talk had him worried, they would be killing demons, what if he was demon when it opened? I should leave.

Khenu took a moment to feel out Darius. His empathic abilities told him of no ill intentions or any hint of anger towards him. The only thing he could pick up was worry.
He raised a hand to the back of his head scratching at his hair. "I...I um...I told one person...but only one. But like you said they don't care." He brightened. "That's what's so great about around here I guess. No one worries who or what you are. If you're good in their eyes it's okay." His voice hinted of reassurance. "They have a talking wolf with wings for crying out loud!" Khenu laughed.

Blaine laughed.
"Are you kidding me? I'm not here for THAT... at the moment, I'd prefer to be anywhere BUT near that thing. Nah, I came here cause I needed a break from the outside world... plus, all those damn human inns are annoying me, and sleeping in trees is getting old. And I've already got a room."
He chuckled and smirked at her.
"That's why I was so surprised you weren't aware of me being here... ah well, I suppose having so many people staying at your hotel can make it hard tracking everyone down. As for having a go at it... I will eventually. At the moment..."
He yawned loudly, and looked inside.
"I truely can't be bothered... something to eat sounds good, but I'm sure that you've noticed I'm not exactly... a normal eater, if you know what I mean. Finding meals for me isn't quite that simple."
He was, of course, refering to the fact that he was a vampire. Blood was the only way to quench his thirst.
