I couldn't imagine living in a little town away from everything gonk

Me too. I've lived in a big city all my life, so I don't think I can handle moving back to a small town.

Yeah, I know what you mean. >w< I'd prefer living somewhere less crowded...closer to nature or something. :B It's just so weird when I go to small towns...they all look so simple compared to what I'm used to. >.<

NOOOOOOOOOOOO

...

...

NOOOOOOOOOOOO

NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Take it from someone living in a small, nature surrounded town.

IT ******** SUCKS.

LOTS

IT ******** SUCKS ******** LOTS.

It isn't a punishment I would wish upon my very very very very worst of enemies.
O.O;;; That bad, eh? xD

I disagree.

Having lived in both, I can say that there's a certain tranquility about this rural pothole that most people tend to forget. Some call it mundane.. and I'll admit, the city had far more fun at my disposal. But it also lacked the raw, serene beauty of nature. A duck pond in a park doesn't quite constitute the rugged wild, as it lacks the authenticity of real encounters and untouched imagery. Perfectly alligned rocks, domesticated ducks.. benches. Nice. But there's something to be said for sitting on a rock before the open tide and setting sun, catching a glimpse of a passing hawk or scuttering mink.

Our world is so synthetic. I miss the city, my friends and my luxuries..
But this isn't hell. "Hell is other people." - Sartre

I don't know. I've come to really appreciate the simple things. Life is fragile and beautifull. Short. Wonderful. That's my prerogative, anyways. 3nodding

Yes.

Yes it is.

It is painful.

I swear.

If I wasn't out of here, never to return in 15 months I would probably shoot something.

No joke.

Probably just some of those goddamned sheep, there are so damned many they probably wouldn't even miss a few.

So yes.

I hate small towns muchly.

And am dreadfully jealous of people who live in cities. Or remotely urbanized not completely ******** backwards conservatives hell holes.

You know they turned down a proposal for a doctors office because they wanted the town to say EXACTLY.THE.SAME. No joke. They want it to remain untouched by civilisation forever.

They even argued it would attracted ******** drug dealers and rowdy teens.

Firstly, rowdy teens? Har no. The worst they'll do here is tip over a mail box. Or a cow.

Secondly how many ******** drug dealers do you know who try and swing deals in front of DENTISTS OFFICES?

See small town suckiness would probably be more bareable if I did find nature beautiful. But I don't. I hate nature. Passionately. The only good nature is an Ansel Adam's photograph in my opinion.

I hate trees, rocks, plants, grass, streams, all matter of flaura and most fauna.

I don't find anything pleasing about nature. I truly don't. The only use for it I find is writing. I'll write about nature sometimes during my english assignments. Part of the description of a place. I might include some nature. But other than that, were nature not necessary to balance the food chain and trees for making oxygen and bugs for eating the wastes and keeping them from building up, if nature didn't exist, like 'real nature' or whatever, I can honestly say I could lead a satisfying and complete life.

I find cities to have more beauty than nature. I've always found them to be more calming than small towns too. It's odd. It's a personal thing, I do suppose.

So, basically, I find small towns ugly and boring.

It's a small personall hell, the town where I live.

Some smaller towns aren't just all about nature, it's great for people who are into it but really that's what vacations are for. wink
I'm used to knowing the people that I see hundreds of times really well but now in cities I see the same people every day and it's just 'meh, who cares?'.

I miss living with my parents, out in the middle of the country. You can make as much noise as late as you like and nobody cares because they can't hear you anyways. Also, the privacy. My bedroom window looked out onto a field, with nothing in sight but trees, grass and sky. I didn't have any blinds on my window because I didn't need them.

Now I live in suburbia. Sure, I can get downtown any time I like without too much hassle, and work is only a 5 minute bike ride away. But I have to turn the music off at like 10pm, and I can't have like 100 people over for a party in my backyard. And my bedroom window now looks out on a busy street, so my blinds are closed pretty much permanently.

I guess what it all comes down to is you can take the girl out of the country... neutral

Hmm... perhaps we need a change of topic, since no one is posting gonk
PostPosted: Mon Jun 12, 2006 3:12 pm

That sounds agreeable to me.

So what should our new topic be? Anyone have anything in particular they want to share?

Bahaha. And hopefully for different reasons, too. (;

In the meantime, happy early birthday. ^.^;
