Nathan smiled and reached to pat the wolf's ears. But instead, the beast lightly nudged his hand took Joseph's ring. When Nathan followed it, deeper and deeper in forest. When he was far enough in, then he heard Garrat calling to him. Fearing if Garrat found him, and he'd take him back to the castle, Nathan said nothing and continued to follow the wolf.
His night gown got caught on some brush and a piece tore off as he ran. Eventually the wolf led him to a body...

Hearing no answer, Garrat became a bit more frantic. "Nathaniel! Where are you?!" The grass hid any footsteps that could have indicated the prince had been there, and Garrat began to wonder if maybe he had never come at all. It was then that he noticed the dismounted horse. It looked a bit worn, as if it had arrived only recently. That had to mean Nathaniel was somewhere around here.

Nathan cautiously approached the body only to be stunned at what he saw. "Manureva?" He whispered aloud and approached it. The wolf began to growl and it stood between Nathan and the corpse. Suddenly, her eyes flashed open and white if her eyes was red! And where there was supposed to be blue iris was yellow, sickly demonic eyes! Nathan fell back in a grotesque shock! Part of him wanted to run but the other half was too scared to move or scream. Her body began to move and it wasn't natural, almost as if the body was possessed! She was on all fours now, like spider, her limbs carried her body. Nathan attempted to slowly scoot away with his quivering body only to end up against some thorns on his back, and once an she faced him, he panicked and screamed at the top if his lungs!
His arms now bloodied and his heart racing, everything became too much for Nathaniel when she finally charged at him and he fainted. Of course before she could get near him, the wolf attacked her and chased her off, making her search for a new victim. Unfortunately, Garrat was the only other person out there.
But when she found Garrat, she didn't attack him. She just watched him and waited for him to notice her and then disappeared.

Garrat heard the scream. "Nathaniel!" he shouted before he headed toward the direction he was sure it came from. He stopped in his tracks when he saw a monstrous creature that looked eerily like Princess Manuerva, but he couldn't react before it slipped away and left him wondering if he was seeing things. Not another moment passed by before he continued on to find Nathaniel.

Nathan was still out but the wolf he believed was Joseph dare not leave his side. Catching the scent of Garrat, he began barking for him to find the prince.

Garrat heard the barking and followed, eventually finding Nathaniel and the wolf. Fearing the worst, he hurried to him and put his ear to the prince's chest to check for a heartbeat, sighing in relief when he heard one. "You idiot," he muttered wryly as he picked Nathaniel up. He might have to keep the door locked on all times.

Just a few moments after Garrat picked him up, Nathan's eyes opened and he met up to find he was in his knight's arms. Ashamed, he tried to make the mood lift by having a sad smile, "... you found me..~" he said meekly. The feeling faded quickly when he met Garrat's gaze. "I...I'm...I'm sorry.." he tried to apologize.

Garrat sighed. "Where's your horse?" he asked, setting the prince down now that he was awake. "We shall discuss this when we return home." He stopped for a moment then. "On second thought, let's discuss now. What were you thinking?!"

Nathan couldn't look Garrat in the eyes. He found and kept his gaze to the ground. "I-I just wanted to help... " he muttered. Now trying to force a smile with sad, reassuring eyes, he looked at the wolf behind them.." And see! I fine, no got hurt~ everything's okay, right?" He naively spoke with a optimism attempting to shroud over the foolish act he just pulled.

Garrat only became more annoyed. He was getting sick of Nathaniel's borderline stupidity. "And what, pray tell, would happen if your luck ran out?" he questioned, his voice steadily growing louder and angrier. "Recall that your brother was killed in this area. What made you think you stood a chance here? Wanting to help when the most you can do is form strategies, you clearly haven't read enough books on common sense!" Perhaps this was a bit too harsh even for Garrat, but he couldn't think of any other way to get through to the prince's apparently thick skull. "Or is it that you want to die? How do you think I would feel if I found your corpse? Or if I could find nothing at all? And what about your mother?" He had to calm down then, or else he would have gotten violent. Nathaniel probably couldn't handle it if Garrat lost himself. "What is wrong with you, Nathaniel? Day after day, all you've been doing is pull foolish stunt after foolish stunt. Such behavior is inexcusable, even if you've been locked up in your room for years."

At first, Nathan was about to retort. Saying things like, 'But its okay~ Joseph isn't dead. He's right behind us..' but Garrat continued to yell his arguments that made Nathan shrink. Alls he could do plan strategies? Reading books? His heart felt like it was tearing in two. Part of him was a little pleased, but just barely. He finally saw Garrat mad, and although he believes that seeing the ones you love mad or distraught brings the loved ones closer together... but this... this just broke his heart.
No reply came. No words could be spoke for why the prince did these things. Maybe he really just wanted the attention. The idea of being able to do what he wanted and there would be little to no repercussions because Garrat would always be there. Always be there to pick up the pieces or always there to rescue him. But deep down, Nathan knew that Garrat was right. Tonight could have been very different if Garrat didn't show up in or if Nathaniel was alone to find the body of his sister... Still, no words came out. What was he supposed to say? Lie to Garrat and smile? Cry to the knight and beg for forgiveness? Even the truth that Nathan's tongue pleaded to be spoken would only cause the prince more pain if he said it outloud. Perhaps it would be better... perhaps it be better if he was dead.
With a trembling and cold voice, Nathan kept his gaze to the ground. ". . .I'm sorry, Garrat..." were the only words Nathaniel found appropriate to say at the moment. The tears, still being held back from falling down his round pale face.

Almost immediately, Garrat regretted his choice of words, and pulled Nathaniel into his arms. "No, I should be sorry. I spoke too harshly," he said and he lifted up the prince's face to look into his eyes. His heart broke at the tears flowing from there. "I just don't want to lose you, do you understand? I love you and want to spend every moment that I can with you. That won't happen if you keep throwing your life around like some discus and expect me to protect it all the time. I'm just a man."

That move Garrat pulled managed make the tears fall. Nathaniel couldn't help but cry as he gently patted Garrat's hand on his cheek. He nodded but couldn't smile like he usually would. The truth was squeezed out in the knight's embrace. "I know you love me, as I love you... but I ... everyone says that I'm going to die soon... so I guess I think it would be better if I was dead... You wouldn't have to be burden with me anymore and you could live a happier life. I just jump into dangerous situations because I......" he paused as to think of the real reason why,"..I make believe that I'm not different from everyone else.... besides.. If I do perish, I'm just the third prince... I'm not as important as the others..........." he gave himself a moment of self pity. "... I'm sorry..I'm sorry I cause you so much trouble.... I promise I won't leave you anymore.... I promise..." he uttered with his head hung low.
Solemnly, he gave a light kiss to the palm of Garrat's hand and turned to walk back to his horse. Although Garrat apologized, his words stung deeper than intended and the young prince was going to behave much differently from now on.

Garrat walked with Nathaniel and took his hand to hold. "Nathaniel, I don't want to hear another word about the benefits of your death. To me, there are none, understand?" He was very serious and worried. Why would Nathaniel think such a thing when he knew how the guard felt about him? "You're everything to me. It's for that reason that I go through all that trouble." By this time, they had reached their horses and Garrat mounted his own.

Nathan rubbed his eyes dry and turned his head to face Garrat. The knight's words made him smile and he hugged his lover. In his chest, he nodded. "right....." he succumbed to Garrat's sweetness and turned to his horse. But before he mounted the horse, he looked at the wolf only to watch it run off. "Wait~!..." he called to the canine but he didn't chase him. "The wolf... I think that wolf was Joseph... I don't know how to prove it but he responded to me.. and he protected me.." he muttered as he mounted his horse
