The Mighty Z-Rex onlydraven The Mighty Z-Rex Plus you have no contest this month. I was afraid someone would say that. I'd hate to think people only come here for those. gonk Look at it realistically. You have 657 members and how many regulars? Some people come just for the contest and feedback on photos to win the contest. Others, like myself, Mykal, and everyone who can get upset at me for leaving them out of the list come to hang out.
Your doing good, Kirk. I like to poke around and have conversations. wink
.. and of course, post lots of pictures. xp
(The contests are just a bonus.)

Soulwreckage Sammirah onlydraven Wow. All day and no posts. I guess this guild is really dying. sad I don't think it's dying; November's just a really busy month. I shouldn't even be online. I'm busy scrambling to finish my first full-length novel before the end of the month. The only reason I'm on right now is because my hand hurts too much to write at the moment.
Plus, I'm hungry. I can never concentrate properly on an empty stomach. sweatdrop NaNoWriMo?

Plus, I'm hungry. I can never concentrate properly on an empty stomach. sweatdrop NaNoWriMo? Aye, that would be the one. I've reached the conclusion that I'm not going to meet the deadline though. sweatdrop If I'd had the entire month as I was supposed to, it wouldn't have been a problem. But I write everything out by hand now, instead of just typing. (I lost no fewer than 3 stories to a hard drive failure some years back. stressed Fool me once...) So the transfer time from paper to computer would take too long.
So I'm giving myself a breather for now. This has been good inspiration though, and I'm going to do my best to keep up the pace until I finish, regardless of the deadline. I can always self-publish if it comes down to that. 3nodding

(The contests are just a bonus.) Yeah. We know. But it's all good.
/me points up to what he bolded
And I don't think I've entered one contest since I joined. Of course, that might be just because the ones that have been held I don't have pics for. LOL

Last time I tired it, back in june i only got 30k Ah, good to see another writer in our midst. 3nodding I'm not entirely sure how many words I have yet, as it's all handwritten at the moment. But I do have around 50 or so pages written out. Taken into account that my penmanship is rather thin and spidery, that's actually quite a bit of progress.
At this point though, I'd be quite happy if I went over the 50k goal line by the time I'm done. I'm not about to truncate the story for deadlines or word counts if there's more to be told. I'm just happy for the motivation this contest has provided me. 3nodding

Ideas pop into my head left and right, and since some of the ideas won't fit into a pre-existing story, I start a new one and leave the one I was already working on behind until I can think of something new to add to it/them. Because at any point in time, I could have 15 to 20 stories that I'm actually working on and others that I haven't touched in ages.

Though never quite to that extent, mind you. sweatdrop Occasionally though, bits from one actually fit in with another, and the two stories kind of merge. It's not very common, but it's pretty cool when it happens. 3nodding

Though never quite to that extent, mind you. sweatdrop Occasionally though, bits from one actually fit in with another, and the two stories kind of merge. It's not very common, but it's pretty cool when it happens. 3nodding He. Yeah. At the moment I have these stories in various states of completion:
Payback: The Enemy's Story Payback: The Gemstrike's Story Payback: Randi's Story Payback: Paige's Story Payback: Becki's Story Payback: Sinat's Story Unwanted Visitor An untitled story that takes place at the same time as Visitor but from the perspective of someone else in the town Rescuing Earth's Populace {Maybe. It COULD actually be complete.} An untitled story where a boy is transported to another world when the Space/Time tunnel he's in collapses A Mishap Through Space & Time: Drake's Story A Mishap Through Space & Time: The Rescue Team Another untitled story featuring a 20 MILE school. Students get from class to class by teleportation The Death of the LSC The Gemstrike Mystery An untitled story featuring a character named Forrest Sherwood {Called Robin by his friends} where their school is trapped inside a temporal distortion field
The Payback stories are all prequels to a story that actually IS completed entitled Payback. Payback is about a teenage Rebellion against a person with no known name called The Enemy. He rules a continent with an iron fist. And the prequels all explain HOW the kids/teachers/The Enemy got to where they are at the beginning of Payback.
Rescuing Earth's Populace is a revisionist history story. Originally, back in 1988, I think, I wrote a story, which I can no longer find, in which our Earth was destroyed by a madman. Only one group of teenagers escaped the destruction and lived to form/colonize a new planet. Well, this story goes back and saves everyone else. But the people who are rescued, which include the teen's parents, never see the kids again, so history isn't actually changed.
The two Mishap stories are told through different perspectives of the same event. Drake Blake is innundated with ChronoSpacial Waves, which power Time machines and teleporters, respectively. After that happens, he continues to build them up in his body. When one or the other, or both, overloads, he is transported through space or time, depending upon which one reached overload level. And these stories will jump through a lot of my other ones before they finally reach a conclusion.
The Space/Time tunnel story is a sort-of tie-in with the Earth's Populace one. Because the boy featured in this one originally lived on the planet where the Earthlings were brought to save them.
The Death of the LSC is a story that takes place long in the future of my normal stories. Because I usually write my stories featuring LSC members: Holly Blake {Drake's cousin}, Derek Rainey, Phillip Patterson, Martin Pope, etc. And of course, it features the closing of the LSC {LightSaber Corps} due to a death of over a third of their current members. And since all the LSC members are teenagers/young adults the parents get sick of it and reinstitute a police force. {The LSC had been the only "police force" for centuries.
And the Gemstrike Mystery takes place as far in the future of the Death of the LSC as the DotLSC does to my normal stories. As when it starts out, the main character has to go the old headquarters of the LSC to find the Gemstrike girls. The Gemstrikes are the descendants of the boy hero Jeremy Gemstrike {The boy from the The Gemstrike's Story.} And they have all been genetically manipulated before birth to have one trait foremost. For example, Crystal Gemstrike was made to be shy. And nothing she can do is supposed to go against that.
Well, this ended up being a LOT longer than I intended, so I'll draw to a close now. If anyone actually wants to READ one of them, let me know and see what I can do about that. {Of course, then I would need to work on the story some more so that I can actually finish it. LOL}
