Darius stood in his room staring at himself in the mirror, sweat beaded on him as he gripped the dresser harder than he should. On the floor lie his disgarded shirt which had hidden the extra bones growing from his back. All of his new appendiges were still small, but they hurt now instead of just itched. He let out a low growl as the pain got worse, and behind him he could see the light cast his shadow, with fully grown horns, wings and a tail, holding a knife. He heard maniacal laughter in his head, calling him.

"Come back to me boy."

"No."

"I'll help you control your power, and you can rule far more than I have."

"I don't want your power!" He moaned and flailed, knocking over a lamp in his room. He stopped lashing out as the voice and the pain receeded to a dull roar. He rose from his knealing position, to whipe the sweat from his face and retrieve his shirt. "Someone will've heard that, or worse felt it." He tried his hardest to regain his composure and sank down onto his bed.

Bastet perked her ears up and turned a paranoid large eyed look up to the second floor out of instinct. "That sounded like crashing, and yelling. What the hell?" She promptly turned to her empaths to see how they would fair whatever it was, she also watched Aura stomp off in a bad mood.

As she watched further, Nailah got the signal she was looking for, someone was in pain. She sighed and went off running on all fours upstairs to listen for more crashing. She went room by room, but heard only silence or average breathing. As she sniffed out the boy, She stopped outside his door and listened more.

Darius snapped his head up as he could feel someone outside his door. What is with these powers! Why can't I be normal? Quickly he made sure his secrets were hidden and laid back against his headboard, conveying as cool of a street kid act as he could. "You can come in ya know."

Nailah felt the pain recede. She looked at Khenu who had begun to look quite pale. She rushed to the boy and held him. "It's all right, Khenu. She took him over to the sink, just in case and held him close to her. "It's over sweetheart. It's over." His powers must be getting more refined. Stronger even. I wonder how much training he will need. He most definitely should get some before too much more time has passed. SHe thought about what had happened to her that first and even second and third times. Never again....she swore. Never again.

Going through yet another gold stuffed chest Aura finally pulled out something she thought would work. A dagger made of the purest gold, it's hilt inlaid with several different rare jewels and stones, it's blade never once had touched blood. If this didn't do the trick, nothing would. It had to be worth something, perhaps more than what her friend had asked for. But he never asked often and after what Khai had done for Aura, old debts must be repaid afterall, especially life debts.

"Yes, I know. But he is scared. And there is a lot of things that could happen. I'm right here, Khenu. Don't be afraid." She hugged his little body closer.

Darius let his temper flare as he moved towards her, fingering his dagger, then restrained the growing evil inside him. Do not let the empaths feel you. "I'm not going demon, just a regular teenage boy. So, if you will excuse me, I think you should stay out of other PEOPLE'S business, and let me go eat." He stepped around her and walked to the kitchen. When he got there he saw the shorty and another woman he did not know, only she looked normal. At least now I know these're the empaths, thank you Bastet.
