Karasu~Lady Raven~

Not that it matters much...*Now that was something that Karasu had botherd to pack... so long with a real healer had apperently rubbed off on the rash wind spirit as she dug a roll of gause out of her pack and frowned at the young man and Evan alike* Either you prove right now that you can heal yourself as well as you healed the wolves when we met or you let me patch you up stare

*The lady shoved the kettle back in the fire, wondering if there was much water left in it, and peaced through the bits and peices of batle feild medic training that she had found interesting enough to learn for herself from Hono*

Hakan smiled sheepishly. "I cannot heal myself or the wolves. I merely loaned them my own energy to heal themselves. They are too greedy to heal themselves but an excess of energy to be able to live again, they can deal with that." He tried to hide his arm, but he felt it would be no use. "Besides, when the time comes, if all goes according to Legend, I shall lose this arm anyways."

I do not really care about legends... and neither should you*The lady shook a finger at the young man before she pulled the kettle out of the fire again and dripped some hot water on a cloth as she advanced on the boy* There is not fate but that wich we make for ourselves, and beliving that something is meant to be only proves that you you do not see the true potential that you have...

If I belived in all legends I would have been doomed to spend all of eternity howling my fury at empty sea cliffs
sweatdrop *Karasu actualy managed to look kind and a bit abashed at that admission*

Hakan ducked his head, but allowed Karasu to tend his wounds, "And that would have been a crime to hide such beauty away from the world." He was much like a child, and the quick intake of breath hissed out through his teeth but a moment after she had applied the rag.

"But I consider it an honor. Not fate."

likely would have been a good thing actualy... a lot of innocent people would not have had to die stare *she shook her head and quickly cleaned up the wound on his arm before wraping the gause arround the whole thing* Honor can only be judged by the person in question... even a thief can have honor, in his own way wink

As it was done, and she spoke her last line, Hakan grabbed both of her hands and looked fervently into her eyes. "You understand, my lady!" Then both he even thought it through, he raised her hands to his chest and kissed her lips soundly though quick, his face drawing back flushed. "You understand."

Then the full depths of what he had done sunk in; but he was not sorry he had done it, so he would not apologize. It would go against what he believed.

Evan, for his part, kept his expression blank and his mind clear. The kiss meant nothing to him. He still wanted to know why the boy had almost lost that same arm again... but the question would awnser itself sooner or later. For now, he glanced back at the chair, only once.

If he knew any better, he would have thought that it was Odin's high seat. But never mind- best not to go there just yet. It looked too suspicious- he wouldn't sit in it. Not yet. Not until he was sure. And even then, the chance that he'd do so was slim.

As he drew his attention away from the quite comfortable, though impromptu living room that had formed in the back of the cave, he thoughtfully trained his gaze upon the woman sitting next to him. Once again, he couldn't tell how old she was. Nor did he need to.

"Hm... Please, do tell me more about yourself, Atal. We may be traveling for a while yet, and I would like to get aquainted with those who accompany me."

A smile.

Karasu was obviously shocked at the kiss for a moment... and then her mood became as dark as a hurricane and she stalked away form the boy... from everyone in fact to the mouth of the cave once more to fiddle with her wards. The shriek of the storm winds through the mountain actually helped her regain her composure without the lady having to hurt someone to feel like herself once more*

Melissa felt bad for Karasu, being taken advantage of like that. What in the world was he thinking, you don't just walk up to a woman you barely know and kiss her like that! She got up slowly, almost shakily, forgeting she had wolf's limbs instead of humans, but once that initial shock was through Melissa walked quite naturally. Then she followed Karasu to the moth of the cave, sitting beside her and whining slightly. She nuzzled Karasu's hand, trying to console her.

At least you haven't been turned into a kid, and then a dog. I'm afraid I'll forget who I am, or who I was. Ya know. At least as a kid, I could be something I was, but a dog, how can I be a dog?

*Karasu snak down to sit beside the wolf, lightly running her gloved hands along Melissa'a neck and shoulder* You do not have to remain a wolf or a child forever my dear... you are a sort of shape shifter now, you need only regain your stength and then ask the wolf how to change you back to a child. You have the ability to change, unlike some of us... stare

That felt nice, a certain warmth and comfort from trusting a gentle stoke against her fur, no wonder dogs liked to be petted. Melissa didn't know too many wolves that would trust a human to pet them.

I only became involved in all this because I followed someone I liked into the military. I could have been doctor by now, just a plain simple doctor taking care of her patients. My old family, my old friends, my old car, my old apartment, all of it is so far gone I can't even reach back.

All in the past... it is all in the past... no matter how much power we have we can not change the past, we can either forget it or learn to live with the pain! I wouldn't suggest forgetting, there are always good lessons to be learnt from the past 3nodding *karasu smirked slightly at the last, unable to keep from glancing at the other in the cave behind them, playing out a slightly warped version of the past* perhaps you can even keep the bad guy from getting what he really wants... I bet there is some clue in your past that could help you beat him, there is always something.. you just have to figure it out!

Atal looked up at Evan and smiled again, "There isn't much to tell really. Much like Hakan, I was raised by wolves until a group of hunters took me in. I lived in an apple grove; when I was a child; that seemed to grow in the middle of a forest." She said nothing more for a moment, but her pride in her apple grove was evident, as if she had grown the apples herself.

"Then Hakan came and asked me to travel with him. There I found my father, who eventually had a son, and so welcomed me back into his bosom, but Hakan warned me that I then had the choice of two destinies, one with some he called the Aesir, and the other as a tool of my father. I chose to go with Hakan." The adoration was evident in Atal's voice.

"You think too hightly of me, Atal." But Hakan was smiling as he came back, trying not to be disturbed by the rejection of Karasu

Thanks for the encouragement. I know one lesson that I learned from the past, keep your distance from Hakan. 4laugh Honestly, you really should have slapped him. I would have. Or........ well....... if I had hands.

Melissa layed down snuggled against Karasu, yawning like a sleepy puppy as she enjoyed being petted.

I hope my fur is clean, I hate it when I pet a dog and my hands smell, yuck.

*Karasu actually laughed at Melissa's last comment, a soft sound brining to mind a gentle breeze through reeds and small bushes as she brushed her hand down the wolf's back* Your fur is just fine, just remember to clean your paws frequently and tell Evan or I if you walk through any burrs or thistle bushes whee

*The wind swirled the falling snow past the mouth of the cave, if they looked closely enough they could see little pictures, almost like a slightly fuzzy black and white movie. It was all pictures of nature, the mountains around them... a hare with it's white coat poking it's head out of a snow bank, a pair of hawks nestled close together high in a treetop nest, a black bear yawning sleepily as it wandered back into it's den the snow having signaled that spring was not yet here...and more, almost like the wind was chanel surfing for them... or telling Karasu everything that it knew about the mountain around them...*
