"Maybe that kind of life isn't for you," suggested Olan as he took a seat near Vitae. "What life would you like? If you don't know now, you have an eternity to decide. I just hope I know before I go down to the Underworld... again..." He laughed a bit, but inside he was shivering. That shoreline where Charon's boat stops to pick up souls was so dreary, and he had been so near to being cursed to wander there forever, or worse if he thought back to his trial.

Vitae chuckled, "Yeah... I guess you're right... But... I think I just want a simple life.... A very simple life where I don't have to care so much about stuff..." He let out another sigh, "Maybe live in the forest by the lake and watch over it..."

"So, something like my recluse life, but without the ruining the environment and all that?" Olan asked, trying to clarify what life Vitae wanted. That life did seem simple, but doesn't the god need to be up in the sky?

"Yeah, exactly." Vitae looked at Olan, "I just want a life like you had without the destruction of the forest of course... But yeah," He got up and sat up straight. "You know what? I'l try and get Helios to do that."

"Well, I wish you good luck with that. Perhaps if Helios really cares about you, he would be willing to let you live that life," Olan said, attempting to smile and yet failing. "Um... Vitae, can I ask you something? It's kind of important..."

"Sure, it's the last I can do for you helping me out with my little problem." he smiled at the other and looked at him. His expression was warm and inviting and his eyes seemed joyful with a little spark behind them.

Olan blushed a bit now. "What... what do you think of me now? A friend? Brother?" Perhaps more...? He wouldn't dare ask that. Even after Aphrodite would be mad at him, he couldn't possibly ask. It was just too strange.

"Hmm.... Well...." Vitae thought for a while, "I don't know... You're not my brother... But... you mean more to me than a friend... Much more... I know it doesn't always seem like I care about you a whole lot, but... It's weird, sometimes when I'm around you I don't know how to act..." Vitae went back to thinking, "Hmm, I don't know... All I know is... Even though you almost killed my forest and were sch a bother to me before I think we've... bonded a little in or quest..." He let out another sigh, "But now it's over..." He brough his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs. "I don't know why but I didn't want it to end so soon..." He looked at Olan again, "Why?"

Well, here goes. "It... it seems that I've..." Olan averted his eyes and began twiddling his fingers nervously. "I might have fallen... in love... with you..." His heart began to pound now. "It's a bit late and I'm sure it's weird, but it's true... I just wanted you to know." He tried to smile once more, but he was failing again. "Anyways, I'm glad your quest for love is finished. If you want, I can try to visit you. I'll probably need help getting to wherever you live, that is."

Vitae stared at Olan for a while and tilted his head. Then he buried his face in his knees and stayed like that.
Helios walked over to Vitae, "Hey hun, what's wrong?" He slowly lifted the other's chin and looked at his face.
Vitae had tears running down his face. "I-I have to go." He quickly disappeared.
Helios looked at Olan, "What did you do!?" He whistled and a chariot led by four horses came to him and Helios jumped in, "HYAH!" He cracked a whip and then they ran Vitae.

Olan stood and thought about going after Vitae as well, but he stopped and just fell to his knees. Once again, Vitae and Helios were upset with him. He was half-expecting to find himself in trial again. Why did he have to confess like that? He knew it was a bad idea, and now he was feeling worse than ever.

"Helios is probably with him by now.... Besides, I doubt he wants to see me," Olan said hopelessly. His heart was throbbing now. He felt that it was consuming him alive. He probably should havd left things as they were.

Olan said nothing more, but he did get to his feet and head toward the direction Vitae went. He probably wouldn't be able to talk to the god, but he may see Helios trying to comfort him once again.
