Arrode slowly turned around and shined her wet (with electrons) eyes upon him. She walked, seemingly in slow motion, delicately making her way towards him unafraid. Total silence enveloped the area. She had stopped inches away from him. It was then that she realized that she was shorter than him. "Rayne?" She lifted her peaceful eyes to gaze upon his face. A few more tears flowed down. "What happens...now?"

Rayne stood there silently . Looking at her, Rayne responded " The war is going to continue on, but for now I will treasure this moment even though I know the war must continue and that I must... fulfill my duties .....as a manslayer in this war. I know that I have feeling for you and you have feelings for me, .....but I must warn you that many people....... are looking for me and many want my head. I have taken away many people's happiness and they in turn give me hatred, but that is the price...for being a manslayer." He stood there once more in silence and looked at all the Ico rebels who had confused expressions on their face because of the effect that the barrier have caused.
He responded once more " I will ...go with you in hiding for now...that is the only way to keep...people from finding out...what have happend in this event...." Rayne looked around and started to ponder on a strategic way to exit this battlefield without having any wittnesses. He knew of many strategies and was ready to excute his full form of the succession technique that requires a combination of skills and technique to get rid of all the Ico rebels that were around the area. Rayne had finally recovered his fighting spirit and was prepare to annihilate all of the Ico rebels to escape the battlefield.

Arrode sensed that Rayne was preparing himself for an attack. She felt it from him, as if she were in his mind. He heard him telling himself which tactics to pull, what time to execute them, and how. The waves of energy that he charged up washed over her. Closing her eyes, she allowed it to pass through her, energizing her. Her mind cleared itself, leaving her in a state of concentration. Her senses temporarily shifted out of focus, detecting the sweat that dripped down their faces. Then the barrier took its effect. Arrode's omniscience suddenly snapped as it shrunk to fit into the space the barrier allowed.
The barrier was the only thing that separated her from the Ico soldiers. She couldn't possibly allow them to report back to the Leader about this event. She stared at the barrier. It was transparent. The confused and dazed expressions on the soldiers' faces lured that smile out from her stoned face. Arrode knew that there was a way out of anything. Only a fool believed in "the end." Arrode was a Spell Swordsman. She never discovered an effective use for her spells because her foes were always weaker than hers. Again she stared at the barrier. It seemed pretty solid. She approached it and extended her forefinger. Cold. She bent her knees and hunched her shoulders, entering an offensive stance. The air crackled with energy as her Great Sword of Lightning extended from her hands. She leaped high into the air and sliced at the wall. The lightning buzzed and the wall stood strong, unaffected. She sliced again and again, but to no avail. Then it dawned upon her that brute force wasn't the answer. She turned to a more subtle method: magic. Arrode mumbled words as her Great Sword bursted with light. The yellow sword now emitted a blue hue of energy. She sliced at the wall again. A small dent displayed itself. Encouraged by her success, she attacked it again. Slowly, it gave way. Arrode screamed as she forcibly embedded the blade into the wall. She strained to pull the blade upwards, attempting to carve a hole through the barrier. She yelled, and her sword exploded. The wall crumbled and the outside air invaded the contained area with a rush, cooling her face.
The Ico finally saw that bright figure emerge from the enchanted barrier. They trembled at the sight of her angry mood and bore their arms. "She killed the Manslayer! He must be avenged!" one cried. With a mighty roar, the entire army moved as one and rampaged her way. Arrode's Twin Swords of Lightning buzzed into existance, and she charged at them. The contenders ran towards each other, but the Ico clearly underestimated her speed. She tore through the army, dividing it like a hot knife through butter. As she barreled into the fray, she whipped her sword in every possible motion, swiping at arms, legs, and anything that happened to stand in its way. Cries of pain swept across the army. Blood spurted forth from dismembered limbs and guts surged from disemboweled corpses.
"Retreat!" The order drove the men into a panic as they dropped their gear and dashed off into the horizon. "No!" Arrode cried. The earth flew into the sky as her feet ripped through the grass. The wind bowed to her agility. Holding her sword in her right arm, she slashed at her right, beheading some soldier. "Where do you think you're going?" Their knees gave out and they sunk to the floor, raising their arms in surrender. "Please!" they pleaded. "We mean no harm!" Arrode released an incredible yell, causing them to flinch, shiver, and cover their ears. Her sword glowed white. A spark of energy flew from her sword onto the ground, creating steam in the process. The soldiers' throats jammed at the thought of being burned alive. In a flash, the remainer of the army was dead. Seconds later, their skin began to bubble and melt. It was then that she knew her job was done. She sunk onto her knees and sighed, exhausted.

Kyo was restless in his sleep. He slowly moved Rins body over onto the bed, and he got up, and walked out of his tent. The camp was quiet, and a few campfires still flickered eerily in the night, and the moon was hidden behind the clouds making it quite dark outside. And cold. KYo did not shiver however, even though he was only in his boxers as that was his customary way of sleeping. Few people would imagine ethat the netherworld was not all flames and heat, but it was also bitter cold in the northernmost parts, and Kyos time there had prepared him for this. He walked ot a hill over looking the camp and sat down on the ground, staring at this vast army here in the upper world, now useless...or were they. He sat there his red eyes burned 2 small pin pricks in the darkness where he sat.

She felt him slide her over gently and she figured he just rolled over. However, the covers had fallen off her bare skin, causing her to shiver and thats when she had seen that Kyo had gone. Sitting up, she clutched the covers around her and got dressed again in her thick white kimono and then wrapped a robe around herself. Tip-toeing barefoot outside, she looked out for her husband and spotted him on the hill. Walking quietly to him, she knelt by his side, her golden eyes showing her worry as she placed a hand gently on his shoulder. "Is something wrong?"

She rested her head on his shoulder, stroking the side of his face gently, before looking up at him. "I am cold yes...but I was worried about you..." Her feet were cold because she had nothing on them, but she ignored it as her golden eyes showed her worry and concern.

He pulled her closer to him so that his body heat could warm her more. Kyo than stood up and carried her back to the tent and lay her on the bed, befor ehe lay down next to her. He rolled over and put his arm around her, and pulled the covers over them both,"There now you should warm up." he smiled down at her.

Kyo sat bolt upright in bed suddenly and looked around. He was still in his tent, and he got up and walked to the tent flap and looke dout. He was greeted with a wall of white snow. It was a blizzard. HE could see the faint outlines of the armys tents, black shadows in the white rush of snow, he ordered the guards poste doutside his tent to go back to there own and tent to themselves, and they gladly obliged. Kyo closed the tent flap which slightly blacked out the sound of the roaring wind outside. He stood and looked out the tiny crack in the tent flaps and wateched the snow fall, clean white pure snow.

She shivered after feeling him get up, but she didnt awaken. Her knees were curled to her chest, her skin pale and her teeth chattered noticably. She wasnt used to the extreme cold or extreme heat and she couldnt handle it all very well.
