"Ow!" Izumi cried again.
"No need to resort to cannibalism," said Mickey in a teacher-like tone. "There's probably fruit, or fish, or something..." she muttered, looking around a bit.

Ammy chewed on Mickey's hand.
"Ammy, I highly doubt that if Izumi's hand didn't taste good, neither will Mickey's hand." Midori told Ammy. "Anyways, I'm no that type of person who savours the fruits and veggies... I'm a meaty person. the all you can eat Korean BBQ! Yeeaaaah~" Midori told her. "And fish... I guess so... But I hope it's not the type of fish that Renji eats. Trust me, fish and sweet red bean paste doesn't taste good." Midori told them. "Ugh." Midori walked on. "Hummm, where's the lake? Are we there yet?" Midori asked, looking around for any signs of lakes.

"Just a bit further, and you should be able to see it," Mickey said, pulling her hand away from Ammy with a frown.

Midori nodded, "Okay... Tell me when you guys et there... I'll just be sitting on Ammy for a while..." Midori said as she put Issun on Izumi's head, then sat down on Ammy's back.
Issun slided down Izumi's back, and then went into one of Izumi's pockets.

Izumi took Issun out of his pocket and held him up between two fingers. "Are you a bug or...?" he asked, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Mickey sighed then walked on ahead, not really wanting to talk much.

Issun gave Izumi a puff face, "Hey pretty boy! I'm not a bug, I'm a poncle!! Get it right people!! stressed " Issun yelled.
Midori looked bored at Izumi, "You look weird for a shinigami... How does the whole shinigami system thing go in your world anyways?" Midori asked, "What are they're purpose?" Midori looked up at the sky for a bit.

Izumi dropped Issun with a flick of his wrist, and turned to Midori. "In my world, the shinigami are those who commited suicide. Our duty is to collect souls and take them to the world of the dead..." He gave her the basic overview, not wanting to go into detail, since he thought it unecessary to do so. "What about in yours?"

"Uweh? You killed youself?" the girl asked, stepping forward a small bit and tightening her grip on Ichimaru's hand, "Why did you-" The girl suddenly stopped talking, putting her hand over her own mouth knowing that it really wasn't any of her business. Still, she couldn't help but wonder what would drive someone to do something like that. Of course... she had killed her own mother though no one ever said that it was her fault.

Midori shrugged, "Well, we didn't commit suicide, we just have high spirit energy and webecome shinigami. We just bring people to Soul Society. But I think we are split up into Divisions... The different divisions do different abilities, and serve for different purposes. Like my squad... Or more of Kenpachi-taicho's squad, they're basically strong... They have a strong little girl too... So it's basically almost like your whole system, only... More organized... So, not everyone can become a shinigami if they're low on spirit energy. Heh heh." Midori said. "But you should really ask Ichimaru-taicho about this stuff. He knows more than I do." Midori said, "I think I'm a really low officer. Not sure how I got into that 11th squad, it really makes me wonder."

Izumi just nodded to Midori, and didn't answer Meikin's question. His life wasn't something exactly near and dear to his heart. "We have departments, not divisions... Like, I used to work in the hcidlren's department and ocllect souls of children. And then the shinigami work in teams, usually of two."

Midori smirked, "Childrens department, huh? So, you can't become a shinigami unless you kill yourself? Sounds like something that would take you to hell or something..." Midori told him. "Anyways... Who and where's your partner anyways?" Midori asked, "And what's with those weird clothes, don't you guys have uniforms?"Midori asked him.

"We don't really have uniforms, but some teams dress similarly. My partner is Jonathan, and he's back in my world..." Izumi said. A part of him was glad that Jona wasn't with him... They contsant rhyming got old fast.

"Mmm, hmm... Sooo, does that mean you don't have a Shinigami academy or what not then?" Midori questioned. Midori looke around for the lake. "And... Are we near the lake yet?" Midori asked boredly as she got up off of Ammy's back and then walked on her own.

"No," Izumi said. He didn't feel like explaining how a soul became a shinigami, and the risk of becoming a ghost. Besides, Midori had changed the subject, so he didn't really need to answer anyway.
"Yeah, I can see it now!" Mickey told the group.

"Midori-san, you should try to be more patient," Meikin told her, looking at the girl boredly and looking over at Ichimaru. "Is she really the same kind of person you are, Ichimaru?"

Ichimaru laughed a bit, nodding to the girl. "Shinigami are their own people. We don't change, we just gain a job," the man explained to her, smiling.
