Kala giggled, and nodded. With that I must agree, Zel. Way too many questions. She moved out of the girl's way and followed her back into the kitchen where she, once more began filling the washer with a load of laundry before turning back to her pictures.

Chris was wondering what she should do at this point. She really had a bad feeling about all this but had nothing to act on but a bunch of he said she said. PLus was it something she needed to meddle in. For now it didn't seem like her business but she didn't want to leave friends of mister cain in harms way either.

Ancient Egypt~ Time unknown.

Lapis stood at the bottom of the pathway leading up to the temple and studied the temple of Anubis. It was a wonderful day, yet instead of enjoying it, she had an assignment to complete. Her hair moved slightly in the wind as she took one las moment to feel the sun touching her face. May Ra help me... she thought silently.

As the sole heir of her clan, it was her duty to seal away Anubis before he did too much harm. After hearing that Anubis was raising an army of the undead, her elders were determined to stop him away and the only way to do that was to seal him away. It was her strong power and intelligence that drew the eyes of the Elders and so she was selected to do this task.

Deciding to get it over with, Lapis made her way towards the temple, knowing that she could let nothing stop her from doing what she had to do. She could see a priestess hurrying back into the temple and knew that she had been sighted. Her knees grew weak but she pushed herself and soon came to the deserted temple doors.

She knew she had to hurry before the priestesses showed up. But as she entered, she encountered a priestess right in front of her. The priestess stared at her cruelly as she used a staff to block her path. "Leave! You have no right to be here. This is sacred ground." Lapis stared at her, her eyes dark. "I have to do my duty, so that the people can rest knowing their deceased loved ones are safe!" She didn't want to harm anyone unless it was absolutely necessary and looked desperately at the older priestess. "Get out of my way! You are no match for me." But as the priestess stood still in her way, she knew she had to do something.

Praying that she would be forgiven, Lapis threw a strong spell at her, but because she did not put any effort into it, the priestess easily dodged it. "Not if I have anything to say about it. I will do what ever it takes to fulfill my duty and protect this shrine." Lapis knew that time was running short and laughed mockingly. "Your duty? Did you know you're guarding the god who is raising the dead to create an army of the undead?" She glared at the priestess. "That's so sweet, but if i must kill you to get to Anubis I will." Ignoring her, the priestess came at her, eyes glittering with muderous intent, willing to do anything to protect Anubis. Foolish priestess Lapis thought as she raised a spell and sent it at the priestess. The spell smashed her into the wall and as she fell, Lapis continued on her way, not bothering to turn around. Lapis could hear the priestess getting up to stop her and a strong of wind blew her into the wall. She can not be stopped. The lives of her people were in her hands.

Making her way to the golden statue of Anubis, Lapis begin to fight the god of death, who had emerged on the defeat of his priestess. But using different tactics, she was able to defeat Anubis and began the spell of sealing him away. She knew that in order to seal him away she would have to give up her life, but it didn't matter to her anymore. After her older brother's death, nothing really mattered anymore, except vengeance. As she placed the final seal on the jar, she could feel her life slipping away. Clasping the sealed jar in one hand, she called up strong winds and began destroying the temple. As the final column fell with a loud crash and the temple of Anubis ceased to exist, she could hear a scream in the distance. "Nooooo!" And then her sight blurred and she fell into darkness. Oh Hatim. I've missed you.

Jessy closes her eyes as Anubis touches her cheek, then watches him as he disappears. She wasn't sure how she was feeling about all of this. Everything seemed to be all jumbled up in her mind. She knew she should have been scared as most people in that situation would have been, but everything felt so familiar. Of course now the question was who's side would she be on this time? Jess then looks over the silver scarab amulet that Anubis had given her, inspecting it closely.

'Huh?" Jessy looks around the store she knew she heard someone speaking to her. It took a moment for her to realize what was happening. "There is just so much to remember. Everything is still a bit fuzzy. Although, I'm sure the rest of my memories will return in time... symbol of love?" Her finger lightly traces the inlade stones in the silver scarab.

At his words Jessy felt her heart skip a beat as flood of emotions flow over her. A few memories come back to her as she listens to him in her mind. "I think I remember...but it all seems like a dream. Will I see you again?" She subconsciously holds the silver pendant closer to her heart. She had been lost in her thoughts when she felt that someone was staring at her. She had almost forgotten where she was and that she should be getting to work.

In his mind, Anubis caressed Jessy's cheek. I am always by your side. Just call my name, and I'll be there. He stopped and looked at his surroundings. A smirk came to his face as he fould the spot.

Kala was startled out of her reverie by the sound of the bell downstairs, and with a reluctant sigh she called out "Zel? I'll be right back...just going downstairs. Zel?" Getting worried that the girl hadn't responded, she takes a peek into the room but doesn't see her. Growing concerned, she starts to call out her name, but spots Reselda and Cain fast asleep in the master bedroom when she turned around. Smiling, Kala lingers for a moment in the doorframe watching them, but then realizes she alone must go see who's here, so she heads towards the stairs.

Making her way out of he back room, she spots Jessy putting her purse away in it's customary spot. "Oh hey, Jessy! How was school? Are...are you okay? You look a bit flushed...You want some water or anything to eat?"
