Zeke didnt draw his rapier, but kept his hand on it, just in case. Anything could happen here. Hell, he might be attacked by children again. This time he had Horus fly up a little and check things out....Nothing she could see, but she didnt get very high.

"Do you think we will be attacked?" Horus asked
"You never know, for sure..."

As they stood there, squbbaling about how to proceed thru the town, Morgan heard a large rumble. She glanced towards the east where she thought it might be coming from. Slowly she realized what had been giving her a bad feeling before, there were no animal sounds. In a forest that rich in trees and vegetation, there was no way that there would be such an absence of animals as to create that silence. Something bad was about to happen.

"Does anyone know what that is...," she trailed off, startled by a shake.

The earth seemed to be like a babies rattle all of a sudden. Morgan dropped to the ground as chunks of buildings began raining down. She could barely see the others, just Zeke trying to protect Karen. Ferreter and Fionulla weren't in her line of vision. What the hell is going on, what god is angry now, she thought to herself.

[OOC: Well, I doubt earthquakes are mentioned at all in the book, but I actually kind of pictured Citigazze to have earthquakes. Plus, the story was so dead!]

((Right, so here we go again a year and a half after it last came to an end and it seems that it falls to me to start it up again. Sorry if what I write isn't good enough for you but you could have thought of your own at any point since then. Here goes... I apologise for my rustiness, I haven't written in an RP for ages.))

Fionulla woke up and saw only darkness around her, for some reason she was lying down.
'Am I dead, is this what the afterlife's like? It seems kind of boring.' She thought.
Then she remembered the huge rumbling they had heard and the shaking of the ground that followed. Speaking of which, what had happened to the others?
Fionulla stood up creakily, dispersing rubble as she went. Caedmon had managed to survive the earthquake by flying a short way off to safety. Looking around them they discovered that the shifting ground had caused the Tower of Angels to move much close to them, so that the wooden door into it was right in front of them in fact.

"We better make sure that all are present and correct," Caedmon said, as usual being the one to bring Fionulla's mind back to earth with a thump.
Fionulla just glared at him, shook the larger pieces of rubble from her long hair and bellowed,
"Zeke, Karen, Ferreter (b*****d, I hope he's dead), weird girl? Are you alive?"

((Reply as you see fit, if you don't I'll just say that you're dead after a week. I'll PM you first to ask if you agree. I hope this stays going from now on. PM a profile to me if you want to join in somewhere.))

(ooc: I was just thinking about a month ago of PM’ing everyone and pestering them about this old thing lol... Then I got a girlfriend and forgot all over again >.<; )

Ferreter struggled to his feet, his thoughts as jumbled as the structure surrounding him that had been standing but moments ago. To his left he could clearly see the insides of a building as if he had x-ray vision. He looked more closely at the rubble on the ground around him and noted what it must have been moments ago. "What in the blazes just happened that could nock a wall of the side of a building…"

He felt a tinge of moisture running down his face. Almost casually he rubbed his hand against it and then pulled it out into his field of vision.

"Well... That explains why my head hurts... Now what am I missing... I know I'm missing something..."

For the first time in a long while his face was twisted in confusion as he struggled to coordinate his thoughts into something he could run off of or if nothing else at least walk. What was he missing? It felt like something really important but for the life of him couldn’t remember. He moved what must have been a window pane by the nail stuck to his belt and looked at the shattered glass around him. For once he wished he believed in a god so he could have someone to thank for what must have been a stroke of pure luck. An inch or two in either direction and he’d have been pan caked instead of just cut and bruised right now.

He suddenly felt a searing pain along his spine and dropped to his knees. Eyes watering from the pain he quickly glanced around for the reason for his sudden bout of suffering. And then he saw her. Lying on the other side of the street, her once elegant black wings twisted in painful looking angles and her body wrapped in a circle. Instantly his memories came flooding back in a torrent of pain, and fear, and he knew what he was missing. The only dependable thing in his ******** up life was her, no matter what happened to him she was there on his shoulder or winging above him, the only thing in existence he ever truly considered an angel, a blessing. And there she was, battered, broken and alone.

Fighting against the pain he was feeling himself, he stood up again and ran over to her, heedless of the obstacles that tried to impede him. He didn’t let the pain in his legs stop him till he was by her side, then he gladly gave into the impulse to drop to his knees as he carefully cradled her in his arms. He let out a great sigh of relief when she meekly licked his arm.

“Heh, didn’t think you’d leave me behind in this dump alone did you my old friend?”
He didn’t care if she responded in any way, truthfully he was happier she didn’t waste the energy. A quick and careful once over told him her wings weren’t permanently injured, but she wouldn’t be flying anywhere anytime soon.

“Maybe I was always wrong… and there really is a god out there somewhere…” He mumbled inaudibly as he gently hugged his burden.

((No. I'm not going to be that drastic, I was jsut trying to get people to do stuff. I guess it's just you and me for the moment. Keep going, I'm going away for a couple of days but you can just make up whatever my character says. Do whatever you feel like and try to get some more people to join in pleeaaasse. I'll start the recrutment drive properly when I get back.))
