Kala looked around the apartment and thought for a moment. Well...money isn't a problem, so I wouldn't worry about that....as for earning you're keep, we can start by cleaning out the old office. Not much in there at the moment except for books and spiderwebs. The books we can put in the storage shed on the roof, and the spiders we can evict...the walls will need washing, and perhaps we could change the color in there as well. I don't think mustard yellow will suit you, personally. She grinned at Reselda.

I've not been in there in so long...there should only be a couple cartons in there, but I could be wrong. Let me know if you'd like some help moving them. called Kala as Zel left the room. She sat there for a few minutes, lost in thought and fighting the urge to help her work move the boxes. She wanted Zel to feel at home, that the room was hers, and she knew the best way she'd feel like she'd earned her room was by doing most of the work herself.

Kala got up and walked what would be Zel's new room, and looked around. Why not just put it all up in the storage shed on the roof...I can go through it all later. Heck, I don't remember what's in half of these things anymore. Oh, our wedding photos! Kala walked over, in a roundabout way, to the far corner where a couple of boxes had been decorated with various colored hearts. I really need to get these in an album, maybe I should work on that today...the rest I think can go in the shed and be okay.

Kala turned back from where she'd been mooning over her photos and grinned. Bless you! Got nothing to be sorry about, hun, I'm the one who never dusted in here. She picked up the two medium-sized boxes and started to wind her way out of the room. This is easier said than done... Taking them back to the kitchen she set them on the table, before returning to the room. Let me know if anything is too heavy for you, and we'll tackle it together. I think everything should be okay, but like I said, it's been awhile since I've been in here.

Kala walked back to the kitchen and began to open her box of photos, but after a few minutes decided it might be better to work on them after her shower and while a load of laundry was going. After all, who knows how long I'll be at this...better to have a couple things on my to do list going at the same time.

Walking to the bathroom, she undressed and turned on the water and stepped into the shower. The water felt invigerating, and she spent a few extra minutes after she washed just to enjoy the feel of it on her skin. Finally she stepped out and dressed in a baggy green shirt that accented her eyes, and a pair of jean shorts, and gathered her dirty clothes and throwing them in the hamper, then taking the whole thing over to the little nook, in one corner of the kitchen, where her stacked front-loading washer/dryer waited (dryer on top). Whistling, she began to load the washer, but stopped when she pulled out one of the bloody towels. She'd forgotten all about Zel's wound in the excitement of the morning. Turning, she saw the girl disappear back around the corner to get another box and Kala followed her, leaving the towel half in and half out of the washer.

Back in the room, Kala saw Zel pick up another box and a slight wince crossed her otherwise emotionless face. Concerned, she started to reach out, but then remembered her promise, and instead asked Can I have a look at your arm?

Kala inspected the wound closely, and was surprised at how fast it'd healed...look like something she may of gotten the week before if she'd not known better. Still red and puffy, but other than that, I must commend you on how fast you heal. I was afraid it was going to need stitches, but looks like it'll be okay. She steps back and relaxes, smiling warmly.

Something about what the girl said struck Kala as odd, but she let it alone and put it in the back of her mind where she could mull over it later. The ability to heal is a rare gift with a high price, it seems. It makes you very special, because too many in this world can destroy, but very few can do what you can....yet it's also a gift that should never be abused or exploited to one's benefit, used only in rare cases where no other option is available. Kala had to restrain herself from hugging Zel at this point, and for clasping her hands in front of her. I have to thank you again for helping Cain yesterday. For him, going to the doctor is out of the question... Her voice trailed off, unsure of how to explain or if she should leave it for Cain to show her.
