((Polymerase Chain Reaction is for DNA Generation, not for DNA match ups. It's for cloning, only. I know because I'm learning how to do it.))

Riyoku nodded, her presence seemed to vanish all together, making her nothing more than an object. There wasn't the sense of haunting emmitted from the perfects, but there wasn't the human sense around her either. She put on the tinted face plate she usually used for fencing practice. It hid her from hair line to nose, then the back plating hid her hair. Checking her secret sheaths for all her hidden knives and other weapons, she stopped only to inspect her X-15 pistols. Faithful to the last. They were powerful, dull and dark, deadly accurate and nearly silent. When she was finished, she was completely dull and seemingly invisible.

Radios won't be necessary... She thought, then directed it with a subfrequency wave. Perfects couldn't detect those, they were long wave lengths, and pretty weak, but very long. It was a form of gate power, but it didn't take much of any energy at all to send a thought.

((Forensic scientists use it to create DNA so they can match it to a suspect.))

"No thoughts, either. Just in case."

He grabbed a well-used, but well-honed combat knife and stuck it into his jacket, along with an old H&K suppressed SMG.

"Pop the hatch, we're going bug hunting."

((Yes, but the process wouldn't be entirely PCR, would it?))

"Pop the... what?" She blinked from behind the tinted visor. Riyoku tucked the entry code into her memory and left the paper behind. This was a very strange term to be using...

((Actually, it would be full PCR. They match the PCR restored DNA with that of a suspects. Or at least they try to match it.

"Never mind."

He kept going down through the lockers, all the way to the hangar.

The ultralight was the only air craft left in the hangar. It was the same one that made the trip to Germany in fifteen minutes. Riyoku brushed her hand over it, admiring the smooth work of the hull and its resistance against pressure and drag. She remembered building it, putting together every last piece and sealing each with her own gate power.

Around the other end were a few battered motorbikes and some cars that resembled perfect vehicles.

"We're taking my vehicle. I suggest you don't touch anything that's inside it," he said. He went to an empty lot inside that hangar and reached out toward the center. He pressed down. and a hatch opened out from nowhere.

"The latest in cloaking technology stolen from the clones. I'm reverse-engineering it as a hobby. He climbed into the hatch and turned off the cloaking. A whir of noise, and what was an empty spot now contained a sleek black-and-green delta-shaped aircraft. "That's my baby...now let's start you up..."

He reached overhead and flipped the three switches initiating the ignition sequence. "Come on, hurry inside, we haven't got all day."

He went throught the start-up procedures. Ignition, check. Power, check. Fuel supply is full, life support is on, weapons are activated, cooling is activated. Shields are up, antisonics are up, radar blocker, infrared blocker, EMP shields are green.

"All systems go. Prepare for liftoff."

Riyoku strapped on the seat belt and stared blankly into space. She listened to the humming of the craft's start up and Styx's voice speaking to itself. She said nothing, and will most likely say nothing for a very long time. Checking to see her pistols were secure just as a caution, she looked up again and stare into nothing.

"What's the maximum speed that you've traveled so far?"

The engine of the machine hummed softly, and the plane moved forward slowly. The attitudinal thrusters on either side pushed it forward.

"More importantly, have you ever left atmo?"

The thrusters turned down, against the ground, as they left the hangar. Not a sound could be heard as the plane rose into the air.

"Mach 38, and yes." Her answers came soft and barely audible. "We passed that on the trip to Germany..."

She gripped the edge of her seat, feeling the vibrations pulse through her fingers. It was very soothing.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 28, 2006 7:50 pm

"Only Mach 38? Well...lets see if we can't make at least twice that speed."

The aircraft suddenly launched upward, without warning. "We breach atmo in fifteen seconds. After that, I fire up the fusion reactor, create a series of uncontrolled fusion reactions to propel us forward. We'll circle the globe a few times, then freefall to our destination. We'll simply show up as a meteor burning in the sky."

He counted the seconds: Five. Four. Three. He prepped the fusion core, felt the vibration of his aircraft through the dashboard controls. Two, one, zero. There was no sound as the nuclear explosion sent them hurtling around the globe at speeds rapidly approaching Mach 150.

This is the first time I've ever been able to actually test the fusion core...I hope it holds... This is the benchmark...150 Mach: where no human being has gone before...

((Hoi... mach 35 is I think... either an hour half an hour to circle the world. you're hitting close or around lightspeed...))

Riyoku took it all wordlessly and curled up on her chair, her forehead resting on her knees. There was nothing to see, all she can think about was emptiness and all she her eyes met were the flashing lights of the dashboard that never reached her mind.

"Coming down in twelve minutes, now. We're landing right on top of the facility. Atmospheric reentry in eight minutes.

((I can't post anything... you didn't post enough info for me to respond to... ))

((Sorry. You could just describe the building we're landing on.))

He looked at the screens.

"Stay on your guard. And watch for the cameras. They might catch us before we have a chance to activate the cloaking device."

Riyoku obeyed silently, ready and well prepared. The roof was flat and grey, clean and blank like a new sheet of paper. The wire railings along the sides were just as clean, void of rust or any fingerprints. It was a landscape of grey shades and light sepia with rolling dust clouds of tan and brown. The row of lush, green, neatly trimmed shrubbery around the building didn't seem to fit in with anything at all...
