Karen was, of course, ignorant of all the places Morgan spoke of. She didn't know if it was this world, or another world, or whatever. But Karen was more surprised by Ferreter's casual outburst. He was obviously well, well informed. And, of course, keeping this knowledge from everyone. Suddenly, Karen felt that she was now surrounded by people on all sides whose interests and intentions was she not only unaware of, but she needed to be down right suspicious of. In a moment she and Kaimi exchanged the mutual feeling of prey vs. predator. Kaimi, despite his form, was an almost perfect partner for this, and he curled himself around Karen's feet even tighter and, snarling, turned toward to Ferrerter.
Angels? What in the world are you babbling about Ferreter? You seem to know something...

Now that Karen mentioned it, Ferreter had mentioned very little about himself.
"As a matter of fact, Ferreter, What is your Daemon? Where are you actually from? Why are you helping us? And how are you able to hop between worlds? If you know something, Tell us! We need every possible detail to survive!"
Zeke got up and put his arm around Karen, to show that he was with her. At this point, Zeke was one of the only people she could trust. Zeke hoped she trusted him, anyway...

Karen placed her head on Zeke's shoulder for the briefest moment and sighed. She had never doubted for a second that she wouldn't have Zeke beside her, but it felt good to have the feeling confirmed. However, even as Kaimi allowed Horus to nuzzle beside his bulky frame, his quick, sharp little eyes never left Ferrerter and if they did, it was only to watch Morgan with the same sharp eyes. She also turned her attention away from camp, occasionally. If anyone attacked, they were all awake, so it wouldn't really make a difference if there was a sentry posted or not, but they could never be too sure...

"What Pie is, I do not know, where I truly am from I do not remember, how I hop worlds I can never quite understand. It just happens. As for why I’m helping you, simple enough, you’re defiantly not friends of those ignorant fools from the church, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' is a common phrase in every world I’ve been to. And how is any of my life story going to help you to survive? How much do I know of yours?" He looked straight at Zeke, his eyes calm and cool, a casual look as if this was nothing but routine for him.
He sighed and lulled his head. "I'm surprised that you have no clue what Angles are, I take it you REALLY hated the church in your world huh. They are beings, very rare, that can move through worlds with but a simple thought. Most of them work for the 'Authority'." The name he spoke with as much sarcasm as he could. "Anyway" He started to rub at his temples slowly, "What I know of this world I've mentioned, though it has been several years since I was last here. For starters there appears to be more of those damned things lurking about then I recall."

Of course I have heard of Angels, but, certainly they were just old tales and legends. Seeing how most of what the Church spouts is lies, I don't make it a habit to make exceptions for mythological flying creatures I myself have never seen nor have I found proof of their existence.
Karen responded, not angrily, but excited. She was having her own intellect challenged, and she rose to it. She wanted to learn, and find out, and with everything going on she had had no time to really sit and think on any of it, and now she finally had a chance to sit and think on everything. But, first, she needed to ask..
Authority? You speak of that, and it makes me think, but certainly it can't be..... Karen gripped Kaimi's neck and shivered, her tiredness forgotten. She wasn't even cold, either, but the implications of his statement....

Zeke was behind Karen now, and could see that she was a little disturbed at the thought of this "Authority" ferreter spoke of. He put his arms around Karen from behind and grabbed her hand, to make her feel a little better. To be perfectly honest, it threw Zeke off as well. If Zeke was getting this correctly, he was talking about god. The god. Zeke could see the fatigue in Karen's eyes. This would have to wait.
"Well, ferreter. I have to say I am sorry I asked, We are all a little tired from this. If you would be so willing, would you stand guard Fionulla? Karen and I are going to get some rest."
This was it. Zeke was making his move. He took Karen into a secluded area in the woods that he observed was not too far from their camp site. It was beneath the stars, as romantic as it gets.
"Im sorry this is kinda secluded from the others, I just figured we could be...well, alone for a while."
He blushed furiously. Finally, Alone with Karen.

Karen cuddled closer to Zeke, and was simultaneously exhilirated and exhausted. Kaimi sensed Karen's feelings, and moved a bit faster than she expected. He wrapped himself around both of their legs and caressed Horus as she rested on his leg. Karen felt a rush as she turned to look Zeke in the eyes.

Karen's eyes gave him the courage he needed. Thus he shut shut his eyes, got close, and pressed his lips on hers. It was one of those kisses you read about in those girly romance novels. Filled with enough passion and emotion to make the coldest heart melt. They were entwined in a web of love that not even a spector could step near and not melt from the pure heat of their passion. They were like that for quite a while, save for the few pauses when the two of them would stop and just gaze into each other's eyes, only to reignite and begin their act of intamacy. To Zeke's dissapointment, Nothing really happened other than the kissing. He didnt even cop a feel.. After the kissing, they both plopped on the ground and gazed at the stars till they slipped into the darkness of sleep, in each other's arms.

Morgan sighed and looked at the others after Karen and Zeke wandered off. Fionulla was standing guard so she really had nothing to do. She gave Pie one last look before curling up near the fire and falling fast asleep.
She awoke the next morning with a yawn. She glanced were Fionulla was leaning against a tree, asleep, but with bow still in hand. Ferreter was lying with Pie on his stomach and Morgan couldn't tell if he was up or not. Karen and Zeke still hadn't come back. She stood up and stretched and wondered if she should let the others sleep or wake them up.

Karen awoke and gently kissed Zeke's cheek, and shook his shoulder as she and Kaimi got to their feet and smiled at each other as the sun warmed both of their shoulders. She looked at the sun, and realized that they had probably over slept. Kaimi quickly urged Karen away as she turned to Zeke,
Zeke, you have to get up! We have to go!
Karen hoped no one was too mad at them, although should couldn't help but feel that she really wouldn't care if they were mad.

As Zeke and Karen walked back into the clearing, gazing happily into each others' eyes, Fionulla completely broke the moment by yelling loudly, "Where the hell have you been? We were supposed to leave hours ago. Ferreter's been doing my head in by moaning about how we should have gone. He's sulking somewhere over there now, I sent Caedmon to keep him company." She smiled, imagining Ferreter's eyes being pecked out by an angry golden eagle. "Maybe we should leave them together for a while," She said wistfully. "Well anyway, let's get ready to go."

Karen smiled dissarmingly and nodded at the young, restless witch. You're right, that was rather insensitive of Zeke and I, and I promise that it won't happen again. You are completely right, we should be leaving. To the Tower of Angels, then?
Karen and Kaimi began breaking camp and packing away everything they would need for the trip.

Zeke just wished that the night could of went like the other's probably thought it did. Although it was good nonetheless, he just could of gone without Fionulla exploding on them this early in the morning. He began helping Karen out with the packing, giving her a quick peck on the cheek as his way of saying good morning.
He quickly changed his shirt and vest to a white tee shirt and some rough jeans (the only clean clothes he had left...) and equipped his Rapier. This might get messy.
"Sorry about that everyone, we werent thinking clearly. We should probably get moving..."

Morgan nodded her head in agreement. She didn't have anything to carry, so she just stood up and put out the dying fire. She dusted off the clothes, if you could even call them that, she was wearing and just stood, waiting for the others to finish.
When they were all packed up, they trooped off, north, to what she assumed was the Tower of Angels. She of course, knew what angels were. She had been a priestess after all. But she was just beginning to realize that they were, well, real. She had given up on the idea of religion when she found how corrupt the human politicians of her world had made the practice, but know, to hear that such things existed...it made her shiver. Just thinking about what humans could do, what would angels be able to accomplish.
They continued to walk towards the tower, with the silence only broken by the occasional crack of a branch under one's foot. They could see a clearing up ahead, through the woods. Morgan got a bit excited and ran ahead of the others to see what it was. They could all see the tower looming overhead and she wanted to see what else there was.
As she neared the clearing she spotted...houses. It was a town of some sort. But there appeared to be no people, anywhere. Morgan got a foreboding feeling as she looked around the apparently abandoned town. She turned and ran back towards the group to tell them what she had seen, or rather, what she hadn't.
"Umm, you guys...there's no one there. It looks like a normal town or something, but there aren't any people," she said, staring at her feet. "It feels odd there, I can't explain it. I think we should be real careful though."
She knew no one in the group trusted her, but she hoped they believed her on this. She had a bad feeling about this place.

Karen didn't doubt that this town would be abandoned, but what surprised her more was that this was no village, but instead, a suburb. Karen looked about at the "village" which extended in far to the north, in a stark contrast to the forest at their backs. She could also smell the sea, also in contrast to the fresh smell of the forest. That second thing, the more striking thing Karen noticed, was the large, beautiful towers in the distance. They were obviously in a great city, but one they needed to be careful of... Kaimi took point as Karen turned to her friends.
She's right, it is totally empty. Stay on your toes everyone!
