Garrat had been ready to jump into the lake to rescue Nathaniel, but the wolf had actually beaten him to the task. The knight quickly tended to the prince, taking off his own cloak to cover him up. Well, he didn't cover him right away. "Remove your garments, quickly. They'll freeze you if you leave them on," Garrat instructed quickly, as the first sentence had sounded very strange.

Nathan shakily nodded and attempted to bring his quivering hands to unbutton his blouse. He managed to undo the first button but only to continuously fail at the second. His fingers were too cold and numb to move. Slowly, even his face and lips began to turn blue. "c-c-can't... t-too...c-cold.." he shivered, beginning to fear the worst as he wrapped his wet arms around his own shaking body to try and retain heat.

Well, this was getting awkward, but Garrat knew there was no time to find another way. He began to undress Nathaniel and dry him off before wrapping him in the cloak. The whole time, he held the prince close so he could warm him up. "Let's return to the castle. We can't continue our search with you like this."

Nathan shivered and but struggled to stand up. "Garrat, I-I don't know if I c-can make it back t-t-to my horse. I don't want to go out there...." He muttered. This was the first time Nathan got to stay outside his room doing something important and getting sent back home with something like this seemed so embarrassing.
Something began to take over him, warmth surged through his body and he couldn't resist nuzzling against the soldier's neck. A shivering kiss on his ear as he warmed up against him, his face turning pink.

Garrat blushed, but did not pull away. "Now is not the time. I'll carry you to your horse," he declared as he picked Nathaniel up. "We can't have you getting sick again on account of this." They would have to cut the mission short, it seems. What confused Garrat the most was why there didn't seem to be any trace of Joseph.

Nathan groaned a bit in his knight's arms. His body was uncontrollably shaking, No matter how much he'd try to stop his body just continued making it very clear of just how cold he was. His lips were purple still and once they were out of the cold cave, he remained quiet and didn't argue anymore.
Nathan has had the fear of catching a certain disease, and with the situation now at hand, this disease seemed more like a very real threat: Pneumonia. He clung to Garrat and the other knights looked at them with concern, most sighed as if they expected this to happen. ".....cold..." he breathed out..

Garrat tried not to panic as he hurried back to where the horses were left. The other guards who had been nearby looked at the knight in confusion and worry, but said nothing as Garrat explained he would be taking Nathaniel back to the castle. All the while, he tried to keep the prince as warm as possible.
As quickly as they arrived, Garrat rushed with Nathaniel back to his room and toward the bathroom to get a warm bath ready. He hoped it would be enough to ward off the threat of pneumonia.

The wind as they rode didn't help the shivering boy but as soon as they were home, Nathan almost fainted and slipped out consciousness! Luckily, Garrat Garrat was still holding the prince as he came back. That was nerve wracking, especially since he never fainted like that before. But he saw something... In the shirt black out, he saw that wolf's eyes... And that was all.. Somehow that sight was so intense, Nathan couldn't stop thinking about that... Until he was freezing once again.
He felt shameful once Garrat had the bath going. His knight was doing everything in fear of Nathan getting sick again. "I'm .. I-I'm sorry... " he whispered out, still shaking. The bath was warm and only a few maids were around until Nathan was in the tub itself, then it was just him and Garrat. "....Are you angry?" He asked.

Garrat paused for a bit. He had been too worried to really be angry. "No," he replied tersely. "Are you feeling any better?" He put a hand on Nathaniel's shoulder and waited for his answer. His body still felt very cold, but then again the prince had only recently gotten into the bath. He should be warming up soon.

His body was still cold but his cheeks and shoulders were pink. "I... I'm feeling better..." he lied. " Why aren't you mad at me?" he asked in an almost whisper to himself but loud enough to make it seem like a question. " It's not like I want you to be mad... I just ... I guess I just expect you to be upset.........or scared. " He nuzzled Garrats hand against his cheek. The water was warm and his body did indeed warm up.
"Please.. please don't tell my mother about this... she'll never let me out if she found out something like this happened to me... " The wind outside blew loudly as he clung to his knight's hand. Another storm was coming in fast. "I know, after this bath, we should go right back out there and look for any trace of Joseph!" he forced his regular optimism to show through his cold face.

"You're not going back out there," Garrat said perhaps too harshly. "That's enough searching for today." They didn't search much, really, but Garrat did not want to risk Nathaniel getting sick. They couldn't go out until they were sure the prince was no longer at risk for pneumonia. Between now and the time he had fallen into the freezing water, there was no telling when the sickness when into his body.

He sighed and rested his head against the rim of the tub, "I just wanted to do something useful for once..." he sunk his body further into the water when he suddenly, "Achoo-!" he sneezed and covered his mouth and then dunked his cold head under the water, wincing from the idea seeing Garrat's sad and worried face. He was wishing for his smile but so far, everything Nathan has done, had only cause Garrat to worry in fear of losing his best friend. Then again, the same feelings are felt towards Garrat, but for now Nathan just sneezed, and he felt fine... Especially under the water... a thought passed through his head. Garrat's life would sure be easier without me... I wouldn't have to see him so sad anymore... Nathan started to consider maybe even drowning himself in order to spare his knight from the constant torture he must go through... But then couldn't hold his breath anymore and broke the surface for some air.
After the bath, Nathan found himself in bed in warm blankets and with the fireplace blazing. The prince wasn't sick for right now, but he was a little cold still. But at least the color had returned back to his lips.

Garrat had been the one to carry Nathaniel to bed and was currently still watching over him. He had been a bit worried when the prince had sunk his head under the water, but he didn't think much of it. The knight held Nathaniel's hand, which was still rather cold. "If you're well enough, we can search again tomorrow," Garrat promised. "Next time, try to keep away from frozen lakes."

Nathan squeezed his hand and cuddled it, holding it close until his little kitten hopped on the bed and cuddled too. Nathan grinned and pet the kitten but then turned to Garrat and frowned again. The storm rolled in and thunder boomed all around. The kitten panicked and scurried under the covers. The young prince wanted nothing more than to go out there and be in that amazing storm. "I do feel better you know..." He said to Garrat with a small smile. "You saved me again..." He giggled, trying to lighten up the dark mood.

Garrat was a bit confused about the statement. "Saved you? How so?" he asked almost earnestly. Had Nathaniel been having sad thoughts and his knight just managed to dispel them? "Was something wrong just a while ago?"
