He observed the elf with great interest. He quickly realized what had killed the stag, but wanted to know how well. He could tell the elf was slightly older than himself, and was of a different kind. His skin was lighter than his own, which made him even more interested in the elf, as he too used a bow to kill his prey. He watched carefully, wondering why the elf was cooking his food, and how he had made the fire. He soon realized the smell of the stag being cooked was a pleasent one, having left his own food behind, he was going to have to go hungry if he was so stay. Although many times he thought about killing the elf, he found himself to keen and wanted to watch the elf longer, trying to find out as much information about him as he could. He suddied the elf's every move, making sure he wasn't seen, but he kept his darts out, just in case.

* his stag was smelling nice now so josh decided to take it off the crooked wood. he cut a bit of with his knife tested it and smiled, he put the knife in its sheath, washed his hand and cleared the blood, then lifted his dinner up. just before he took a bite a cold wind blew past and a chill ran down his neck, then josh looked around it was a dark night and silence filled the air, more than once he had the urge to call out who was there, but he shook it off and thought nothing of it, he then proceeded to eat his well deserved dinner. after he had finished his meal he washed his hands again, and stared into his fire, his journey had been a long one and he still didnt know where he was going, but he would know someday*

Ranae sat up with a start and almost yelped with sudden pain. She had forgotten about the arrow wound and slightly cracked ribs, still healing beneath their layers of bandages. She took a moment to think of why she might have woken up so abruptly and frowned. Another flashback dream. Well there was no point in going back to sleep now. Covering a yawn she turned to look at the place where she had slept and froze. Kiba. She had been using this pridefull huge animal craft wolf for a damn pillow. Ranae swiftly sat up and dug through her saddlebags for fresh clothing. Finding a nearby stream, she quickly stripped off her sweat soaked clothing from the day before and plunged in. The freezing water numbed her body and cleansed her healing wounds. She scrubbed breifly before jumping out and drying. She then dressed herself in a blood red loose shirt under a black leather corset which served as mild armor. Pulling on black baggy pants which she tucked in to her black leather knee high riding boots. Her black travelling cloak slung over one shoulder, she swiftly cleaned her teeth. She neednt bother with her hair which was allready up an an intricate network of braids, large and small.

Ranae walked back to her big gray gelding Drum and saddled him, being as quiet as she could as to not wake Kino. Then, with a small bow to the sleeping wolf, she took her horse by the reins and walked into the forest. Her stale bread was looking quite uninviting to eat, but she supposed she had no choice. She was just about to stop for a break, for she was still recovering from her wounds, when the smell of venison drifted to her nose. Her keen ears heard the faint crackle of a fire. Her crimson eyes narrowed and she tied her horse to a nearby tree before venturing towards the noise, her feet making no noise in the thick woods.

He continued to watch. The elf made such an effort to be clean, he didn't understand it. Such cleanliness over alittle blood, the young elf was stumped, he carried on examining to try and find more answers. Its was getting darker with each pasting moment, so he moved to another tree, closer to the strange elf. He jumped through the air landing on it, and darted up the tree, trying to make sure he wasn't heard. From there he continued to survey him, listening to his every breath, his hand by his quiver, making sure he was ready for any surprises, he did not know what this elf was able to do yet.

*he was slowly drifting off into a sleep when the sound of a tree juddering caught his attention, but he felt the wind and assumed it was of its doing. but another sharper sound caught his ears and this time it wasnt one of natures calls. a crackling of leaves and a snapping of dead twigs, someone was coming closer, he could smell them, he unsheathed his dagger again and looked for his bow which he promptly found. he then strung and arrow still knife in hand and waited silently by the fire*

She had been sobbing profusely into her horses mane and she knew things were wrong. She was so confused and she felt tired and weak. Through her mind, scenes of her brother, Kyo, Shade and anyone she ever met kept on replaying over and over, including her severe beatings from Nobunaga. Her past haunted her and at that moment her broken arm sent sheer pain throughout her whole body. Her shoulder wound and all her previous wounds split open and began to bleed. She fell from her horse and she was screaming as it felt like her wounds burned and she was crying. "Can someone help me?!?!?!?" She cried it out loudly, fearing nobody would hear her.

Ranae's keen ears pricked at the sound of s dagger rubbing against its sheith. She drew one of her swords and jumped up, doing the splits in midair as each of her feet pressed up againt a tree trunk, holding her about ten feet from the ground and anyone who might coming looking for whatever was approaching.

Realizing there was something else nearby, not knowing how long it had been there, and what it had been doing, he panicked. His heart began to race has he tried to search for whatever it was. He quickly gave up and climbs the tree higher, taking his arrows out of his quiver and placing one onto the plucked string. His eyes still searching for whatever it was that made the noise, his ears twitching trying to remove the noise of the elf below him and the cracking of the fire from the creature that was coming towards them. His face went blank as he heard a faint voice. He didn’t know what it was, but his curiosity ruled his mind. He forgot above the elf below him and placed his arrows back along with his bow. He knew there was another being nearby, but didn’t care too much for what it was, he would soon find out anyway. He leapt from tree to tree, towards where he thought he had heard the voice.

Ranae nibly climed through the trees, not making any noise and not even rustling leaves. It was as if she wasnt even there. She drew a throuwing knife from her shirt and, now being able to see the fir through the trees, she jumped into the air towards it. She flew almost twenty feet until she emerged through the trees and, flinging her feet out, landind on the man by the fire, her feet throwing him back to the ground and she crouched there, on his chest, her dagger to his throat.

She had stumbled to her knees and was keeping herself up by the support of her good arm. Her blood was draining onto the snow from her open wounds and her broken arm kept throbbing. She was still crying and screaming and she wished in that moment that Kyo could be there to help her or that her brother was alive. Her breathing had slowed and her screaming died down, but her cries were still there as she held her aching head in her good hand.

Ranae stared at the young man. By the way the fire cast shadows on his face she couldnt determine his age. But, with a quick sweep of his features, she knew he was an elf. For a moment she scolded herself for attacking so rashly, then her sensible side argued that if he had been hostile and she hadnt made a move, she could have not only one, but two arrow wounds. She stood op and hid away her throwing knife, still on his chest, she crossed her arms, looking down at him. She said in her smooth voice.
" What race of elves are you that you would lower yourself to begging for your life?"

He stops for a moment, listening to the faint calls of a young girl. He slowly made his way closer, as he could smell the blood in the air. He wasn't sure what to expect, and checked his pockets for all his herbs. He didn't know much about people, but he knew his way around the forest. As he jumped onto a small tree, he saw the girl in the clearing. He could see that she was bleeding, but wasn't sure of what to do. She had ears like him, but was pale. He took note of the bow on her back, has he took out his. He made up his mind and, taking out an blunt arrow he had saved from the boar, he shot the bow from her back. He had guess she was now harmless, as she had lost too much blood to weild a sword, and no longer had her bow. He still wasn't sure though, so he moved closer to her very slowly, taking a few darts in hand. His heart beating heavily, he spoke in a quiet, harsh voice. "Calm."
