Deidra winced as Tasuki raised his voice, but didn't flinch. "I know, but I cannot help but wonder if it was because of me..."

Deidra swallowed the fear in her heart and nodded. "I'll be okay, but we have to find Dawn." She rested her head on Tasuki's shoulder an sighed wearily. "Now, I'm starting to feel bad for even arguing with her..."

Deidra nodded, looking a little worried. "True, but from the looks of the finger marks on hthis guy." She points at the guy whose jaw was dislocated and basically torn from the rest of his face. "He has finger amrks around what's left of the mouth and upper nose. It looks like someone with a lot of power and strength did these guys in. Then, she wandered over to the tree which bore the marks of something that had been shoved against it. "She must have been knocked unconscious after hitting the tree when Tsuki fell. Then maybe the person who had helped her took her to safety..." She frowned. "I don't smell any other scent except woof blood and traces of her perfume, but her scent ends...here." She stepped in the center of the clearing, away from the tree. "The scent disappears altogether here...almost like they disappeared into thin air..."

Deidra frowned. "Most of us in this world use portals hidden in places where intruders wouldn't disturb, like the tree we used to get to this world." She gestured to the area around them. "It would be a rare case if anyone knew the true art of teleportation, because it takes alot of concentration to master it." She shrugged.

Deidra had a funny feeling in the back of her head that she was close to figuring something out, but couldn;t figure out what. "I think..the person or thing that took Dawn away isn't...human, not entirely, but definately not normal. And," She looked up at the late afternoon sky. "I believe it isn't a vampire...although it could be old enough to be one..." She ran a hand through her hair and sighed with frustration. "I say we go back to the castle and look up some books on the Night World and Circle Daybreak's history..."

Deidra smiled, a little wearily and shook her head. "Nah. I think I'll let off some energy by flying with you..." She shifted and spread her wings. *Let's go...* She pushed off and headed in the direction back to the castle.

Deidra rode into the breeze and noticed the clouds forming over the mountains and slowly making htier way into the valley. *See. What'd I tell you?* She winked at Tasuki.

Deidra laughed under her breathe and nodded before nuzzling him back. "My dad taught me all I needed to know about weather conditions and tracking prey."
