((Sorry everyone I was having an identity crisis so...pilots name is Iris... Sorry : sweatdrop : ))

"If you've noticed I've kept my daggers and swords in my room only thing pointy in the bridge is a pen for my writings..." Iris said as she planned on just grabbing a training knife that was blunted. "But I'm just gonna grab a blunted knife..." Thinking that they were done Iris turned toward the rooms popping the last of the dango into her mouth.

"In time," was Letti's reply. She wasn't sure if formal introductions would be given, and if they were it wasn't going to be at this time.

The mercenary moved back and fell into the captains chair, "Iris is our pilot," she mentioned offhandedly. "Depending on how long it takes you to finish she might return while we're still here."

Letti had noticed that the pilot spent a great amount of time in the cockpit and kitchen, and less time anywhere else on the ship. So it was a good guess that they would be running into her sooner rather than later.

The thought 'Too little too late' came to mind at what Isis said, but the brunette decided not to share. There was no real point in arguing either about the blunted knife. Pavan had never really been one for giving orders. She'd been more about making sure people listened to Parker and somehow it wasn't the same when it was her making the decisions. Besides, at least Isis was compromising and everyone on-board, sans Simon, knew about Iris' eccentricities. Pavan wasn't too concerned about the new mechanic getting spooked, it would be a good learning lesson if he planned on staying.

The brunette's mouth twitched at the thought as she turned from the departing Iris and looked back around the room. Pavan debated staying, but there was something stifling about the atmosphere of the room as Ashara was cooking and so she headed back out into the cargo bay.

Weaving her way up to her room Iris debated with her self one last time on if she should bring her blunted knife or her hidden sword. 'Pavan would kill me if I scared this one away to... Grabbing just her blunted knife she also grabbed her workout kit seeing as the mechanic might want to work on the bridge a bit. 'Haven't used these boys in awhile might lose my touch...' Iris then started to make her way to the bridge making as little noise as she knew she could. Getting to the doorway Iris saw Letti and an unknown person.

"Yo" Iris said hoping to scare one of them maybe not Letti.

Letti had been around the 'verse and on board this ship far to long to be scared by Iris and her shenanigans. As the pilot entered the room and spoke Letti slowly turned around in the captain's chair to look at her.

She considered a verbal acknowledgment but instead decided that a nod covered all of her bases just as well.

"Iris, this is our new mechanic, Simon," she finally said as she pointed over in Simon's general area. "We're just getting an updated schematic of the ship and then we'll be out of your hair," she added with a slight smile.

Letti liked Iris well enough. Iris had been the first and only person to welcome her onto the ship with open arms after the former mercenary left, and Letti still appreciated that. The switch had been hard on many of the crew, and Iris had never held it against Letti for being here, which had helped. The mercenary had always appreciated it, and despite the woman's strange behavior Letti would always giver her a pass because she knew the woman's intention were good, though not always apparently sane.

Simon jumped at the newcomer. He hadn't heard anything. Years of working on engines might have been one of the reasons.

"Well, hello there," he said. He stood to shake her hand. "Simon Graff."

Setting down her weapons bag Iris moved forward. "Iris Goodsend" Giving his hand a firm grip she let go and moved toward her chair. "Just dropping off my training dagger so I'll be out of your hair in second as I'm gonna go train a bit with my gear..." Setting the blunted dagger on the console Iris moved back to the doorway.

"Nice to meet you Iris Goodsend," Simon replied. "Fighter and a pilot. You're a talented girl."

((If you want to find it its just a book on poisons and herbs...))

"Eh... Talent is nothing if you don't work for it..." Iris said turning back around. "I like to think of it as expand the horizons of life..." Shaking her head Iris nodded to Letti and Simon. "Well have fun and if you find a black book just put it on my chair... it dropped and I couldn't find it..." Backing out the door she waved then turned and made her way to the cargo bay.

"Don't mind her," Letti told Simon. "She's mostly harmless," she added with a smile.

After another moment had passed she asked, "Do you have a shopping list together?"

Looking around the now clean kitchen, Ashara started tapping her nails on the counter. Knowing eventually people would need to eat a real meal, she decided to start making dinner. It wasn't anything fancy, just a casserole, but it was better than prepacked protein meals. With quiet music in the background, she started humming and began to cook.

Truthfully, she'd rather be listening to someone talk having only her music for companionship, but people were busy. It was the hard part of being in port and unable to go planetside, not knowing how long until they'd be leaving. "May as well be in the black," Ashara murmured to herself. Feeling sorry for yourself has never gotten you anywhere in life. Snap out of it. Shaking her head, she returned to her cooking, humming once again.

((Edited.))

"She sure seems it," Simon said, "You two friends?"
