Well, the original form of the word was glarg nest, glargs being small darkish collored mammals that emit pheromones that coincidentally cause humans and closely related species to suffer short to medium length bouts of depression and or boredom (boredom is the more common of the two.) After travelling through the touges of pirate to ports closer to our part of the world and then being run through the vocabulary of internet pirates internetters like outselves we got blargness but the shorter version, "blarg," is more often used. The two words have near identical meaning with the only exception being that "blargness" can indicate a general (thin)miasma of "crappy"-vibes; in most other cases the words refer to the feelings caused by such.
