Riyoku's eyes lit up with a tint of new hope. She jumped up all of a sudden and hugged him, wincing when she did. "Tank, you're a genius! They can be altered as well..." She sat back down and leafed through a black leather journal that was battered and torn with age. "I know the system algorithms, I stole them when... any way, they change with every year. There's a pattern that it rotates off of. The entry code is the algorithmic rotation numbered this year's code numeral..." She looked back at the pattern of the pages and how the numbes were arranged...
"I wouldn't say it is risky... but you can't trust me with setting limits." She muttered, reading it through.

"Alright, it sounds good to me. But why don't we utilize an electromagnetic pulse to erase their hard drive's data, give 'em a little havoc while we're there? I pulled a stunt like that a few years ago, mavericking with the Tunisian forces. It'll take them at least a week to recover the DNA sequences for new clones from their backup systems. Those're typically stored away in a safe house some fifty miles away, so they're safe from a memory wipe by EMP missiles. At the very least, it'll give us a full five days. Or we can track their movements, see if we can't take out their backups as well...No. That'll be too difficult, too risky, and we can't be certain they don't have others...At least we don't need to steal the equipment required for a clone creating facility. We have everything we need, underneath our feet."
He sat down, opposite to Tank.
"It's a good plan. X, let's see the algorithms for infiltration. Getting in's the hard part, but it looks like you've made that easy. When we leave, you should stay with X, Tank. Help her get some reinforcements; I'm sure she might appreciate it. Meanwhile, I'll steal the data, and wipe out any close-by secondary sources. A little napalm would be perfect; it would divert them from realizing their data's been stolen. They'll focus on recovering their data, rather than figuring out who wiped them."
He mused for a while, and he felt another stirring in the back of his mind.
"Tank. Can you operate a CAT scan? Or a 3D bio-imager?"

"I know you can handle it, X." he smiled again and listened to Styx. "Hey that's real good. But there's a problem. The Perfect didn't get that name for nothing. Odds are that yeah, they'll get distracted by you for a little bit, before someone at the consoles realize something's missing."
He rubbed his temple trying to think. "If they were more human, no doubt, they would go into a panic and focus directly on the damage that was happening right in front of them. But because they're Perfects, they'll have a better control of their emotions. Meaning that they'll still be watching everything else." He stopped, trying to probe his brain even further.
"Had they been more human, their pride would make them think that we we're so inferior that we could never conceive a plan this complex. On the other hand, they might be so perfect that they'll think like that regardless. Like I said, there's a lot of uncertainties to this mission. There are some things we just don't know about those Perfects for us to go into the mission with a hundred percent success rate."
He slumped over still holding his head. "That's not to say if we don't try it won't work. I'm just saying that if we're hijacking equipment or data, we'll need someone who's fast. I have no doubts in X. I know she can do it. But what concerns me is if she can handle it all at once. If we had more data specialists this might not be that much of an issue. But..."
He took a deep breath and thought for a moment. "Maybe I'm over analyzing this, but I'm still pretty sure it can work if we bring enough napalm," he said managing a grin.
He chuckled a bit. "Nah, I was never good at working equipment, only at shooting things. Might wanna ask someone else around the base..."
He remembered the agent he had talked to a few hours ago. "Hey, I just remembered I met a new Natural today. Maybe we could bring her in on this?" He remembered her bandages. "She's in pretty shape, but even still she has a very strong gate."

"I didn't say they'll panic. I merely stated that they'll be so busy repairing their equipment, by the time they notice the data's been stolen, it'll be much to late. And I say again what I've said before: Perfects are only perfect if you think they are. Otherwise any one of them could destroy all of us, easy."

Riyoku remained silent throughout their conversation. She didn't think it would be a good time to intervene in the conversation. There was nothing she had to say and nothing she could think of anymore. Despite her skills in carrying out missions, they were still all dictated to her through a memo. She never really had to think up of one this massive before. With all the masterminds of the sector dead or missing, she felt a bit lost.
It was like the first time she had walked through the corridors of the spawning facility's research halls, guided by a female researcher. Numbers were her only means of thinking. It was difficult to reach beyond them and grasp humanity completely.

((Zyxa, you bagged a raccoon! Good shootin'.))
"Of course. Go right ahead, sir. The more, the merrier. She can help you out with gathering recruits, and X can come with me, and I can make sure her brain doesn't fry while simultaneously performing the extremely delicate procedure of planting EMPs in precise locations around the facility and avoiding biological security. Did I mention? All cameras are now wired with biological elements, so they can't be tampered with anythng we have here, and given her current condition, avoiding the cameras might be a little harder than she can compensate for. And then theres....wait....How do I know this?!"
He looks down at his hands. The feeling of slithering...now accompanied by an audible noise. Like words. Someone...probing his mind...attacking his thoughts...
"There's a traitor...somewhere. Not here, I estimate a good five miles away. A human, with telepathic gate abilities. Tank, sir, I am in serious psychological jeopardy; of this I have no doubt."

Riyoku stood up slowly, gritting her teeth against the protests of her muscles. "17.2... open." The nested halos appeared around her right wrist like they always did. She didn't release any of her creatures, but set the gates frequencies out like a blinding beacon, obscuring any possible telepathies out side if there were any. Then thought came to her.
"There's a traitor but it's not her thoughts... they're mine." Her eyes flashed with something reminescent of a shadow of sadness, which was quickly gone beneath the surface. "The gate keeper missed and it's bouncing off of me..." She directed the frequency beacon towards the approximate direction of the telepathy but found nothing.

"It stopped..."
And he felt the blood begin to trickle down his nose, and a massive, growing pressure inside his skull.
"Who is this...get out of my head...you've no place to be in here, now get out."
The telepath payed no heed. Styx focused his full mental capacities against the attacker, and he heard a sudden snap. The nosebleed began to ease, as did the pressure in his mind. The other consciousness faded nearly at once, violently screeching.
"His mind is broken. He won't even be able to count, let alone give out my thoughts to the clones." A smile of satisfaction settled upon him. "I forgot I could do that. Heh."

((Yep, and my character was supposed to be trying to learn how to be human. She's a fast learner ^^ I'm so proud of number 12!))
Riyoku wiped his face with a sanitary wipe. She then discarted it when she was done with it. "Try not to lose anymore blood, a single drop may make the difference between victory and defeat." She felt fire lance through her entire body when she moved. Maybe that trip down memory lane wasn't so refreashing to her body as it was to her mind. That was fine, she probably wouldn't want to go down there again... or would her curiosity take over sense?
"By the way, forget everything you learned from that telepathy..." She spoke in a slightly warning tone. "I'd rather somethings remain unsaid. Details are not friendly." Her soft, low voice held command in them, but just a hint of pleading. The anxious look was in her eyes one second and gone the next.

((KP? Kim Possible confused blaugh ))
Riyoku nursed her thought, turning it over and over again as if the turning could wear it down to nothing. It only grew larger, but she didn't stop thinking about it. Those first years spent in the facilities nearly killed her, but instead, it made her even stronger than before. Now she was weakening... humans were often weak. If she had not been abducted, she would be one of the weakest, wouldn't she? She didn't have the natural strong willed mind, nor what it takes for leadership, nor strategy. She was more of a pawn. A powerful one, but nevertheless, a pawn. Then there was her health drawback. It wasn't as bad as AIDS, but damn close. It was a miracle she survived it. She didn't want to end by an immuno-defect when she could survive numerous dangerous tasks. She didn't want to admit defeat, she was part Perfect. Becoming human only meant that she was weak, and should not exist.
What are these? Thoughts programmed into the Perfects, aren't they? Humans are weak and should not exist. Part of her wanted to attack everything in sight, and another part of her wanted to contain it all within her. Her muscles tensed, her hand gripped the rifle a little harder, then loosened. It may be an inevitable, that she would unwillingly betray the entire unit.

"Naturally."
He stepped out of the room, and the smile vanished from his face. It was one of her's...Their minds are so weak now. Why? What happened to our will? No...I already know the answer to that. We questioned it, and we lost it. And now it falls to me, to try and bring back the spirit of Resistance...
His boots made an audible sound against the steel ground as he walked. Today, he listened to it instead of trying to muffle it. It felt good to hear the solid thunk, thunk, thunk of rubber on steel. Substance is everything.
Should get going now.

Riyoku followed Styx, listening to his footsteps. They echoed in her mind, almost in a soothing way. Her own steps didn't sound at all, like a shadow following its owner. The rifle was slung over her back where it usually is when she was travelling.
"What is our first step then?" She finally spoke up, "I have the new entry code."

"You stay here and recover. A little painkiller isn't going to help reduced reaction speed. Or you can go with Tank, help him get recruits or act as his bodguard. Either way, I don't feel very comfortable with you watching my back. So let me do this on my own, and once I know I can trust you, perhaps you can come along. Oh, by the way. Try looking for some immune boosters and tranquilizers for yourself. Don't want you to get carried away in your thoughts of betrayal and actually go and get started with killing, now do we?"
He continued down the hall, towards the weapons locker. "Small rounds only, with silencers. Don't make too much noise. And no Gates unless they're absolutely necessary. Forget about body armor. All it'll do is hinder your movement and weigh you down. Don't bother with long-ranged weapons, like snipers. If you prefer automatics, use SMGs instead of rifles and heavy machineguns. The others make too much noise, and unless it's over a large area, you'll have no chance to deploy it. In general, they're infantry support weapons. Save your ammo; kill with a knife if you have to kill at all. Make sure you wear gloves and a mask; else the Perfects can figure out who you are by polymerase chain reaction. And whatever you do, maintain radio silence save in the most dire situations. Understand? I'll let you get my back this time. Don't fail me, or you'll be facing me."
