Why aren't there more Japanese music references? I'm tired of this Chemical Romance crap...x_x
PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2005 9:33 am

Maybe I would if I had a good reference page. I really don't listen to it much (read: hardly at all), so I don't really know any.

Well, I've made a character I'll put up sometime...references to X Japan, hide (solo), Dir en Grey, L'Arc en Ciel, and I want to get some more in there, maybe a Miyavi reference or something....

My Japanese teacher likes BUCK TICK. Maybe i can get ideas from her. xD

Mizer was named after and has his movelist named after Mizer Malice songs, and Abla is based on the Visual Kei/Gothic Lolita style, and heavily based off the style of Mana.

Awesome. That makes you high-five worthy.

Plus, I wasn't going to dig through all those previous characters. <<;

Name: Susannah Dniworrom Doubtfire ("Sue")
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 111 lbs.
Blood type: O+
Race: Anthrofeline/English
Hobbies: Singing, dancing, reading
Likes: That feeling he gets when someone scratches him behind his ears. Oh, and fish. He LOVES fish.
Dislikes: Stepping on his own tail.
Friends: Bridget, May, Johnny, Faust, Potemkin
Enemies: None

The only reason this subject is being brought to attention is the alarming rise of anthrofeline population in the past few years. These odd creatures are almost human in appearance, save for the fact that they have the ears and tail of a cat. This particular anthrofeline shows promise as a fighter, but he doesn't seem to have the desire to engage in combat, and only wants to find his childhood friend, Bridget. He seems to be affiliated with the Jellyfish Pirates, as well as the rogue doctor called Faust, and Bridget as before mentioned. Despite his various connections, he only manages to pose a moderate threat to us.
Risk Rating: B

YESH! And now I plan to write Sue's Path 1 Story Mode! WARNING: ENDING CONTAINS UBER-FLUFFY SHOUNEN-AI!

Quote: Bridget! Where are you?

(Sue enters the Grove)
Sue: Wow...This place oozes ancient energies...I could never claim to understand what I feel here...
Testament: Stop babbling, you little brat.
Sue: Wha?! Oh! Goodness! You scared me!
Testament: I'm only going to say this once...Get out. Now.
Sue: Hey! That's not very nice! You oughta be kinder to people, you know?
Testament: Kindness? Hah! You won't recieve any kindness from me...nor, for that matter, will you recieve any mercy!
(Sue defeats Testament)

Sue: Please don't attack me anymore! That big red scythe is really scaring me!
Testament: .....Why did you come here?
Sue: I didn't know I was disturbing you, sir...I was only looking for my friend, Bridget. Have you seen him? He's about my height and has pretty blonde hair.
Testament: I don't make a point of remembering humans. Get lost.
Sue: Well, I never! You're so rude! I think I will leave!

(Sue enters Zepp)
Faust: Ah, young Susannah! Hello there!
Sue: Hehehe! Good day to you, Doctor Faust!
Faust: How's that tail of yours? Not so crooked anymore, I see!
Sue: Yes! It's much better now, thank you! Listen...I was wondering if you knew anything about my friend Bridget. He's disappeared lately, and I can't find him anyplace!
Faust: Bridget...? Oh! Is he the boy with the yo-yo and the teddy bear?
Sue: Yes, yes, that's him!
Faust: Oh, I saw him not long ago...perhaps a week ago.
Sue: KYA! Where did he go?
Faust: I'm afraid I couldn't tell you exactly where, but if I had to guess...hmm...He IS a bounty hunter. Maybe he'd have searched for the May Ship. Half the big bounty heads are there, I've heard.
Sue: Ah! Thank you so much!
Faust: My pleasure. So long!
Sue: Wait, Doctor Faust! ...I was wondering. Just for fun, would you like to have a bit of a spar?
Sue: With you, Sue? I didn't know you liked to fight!
Sue: I do, but only for fun. What do you say? Come on! We'll have such a good time!
Faust: Hmm...Very well! Let's see exactly what those tense cat muscles of yours can do!
(Sue defeats Faust)

(Sue enters the May Ship)
Sue: What a cute ship! I wish I could be a Jellyfish Pirate!
May: Ah! Sue! How are you?
Sue: Hehehe! I'm doing just fine, Miss May! It's a pleasure to see you!
May: I was hoping you'd come to see me! You're so much fun to hang out with!
Sue: Listen, I'm really just here on business. I've been searching the world over for Bridget. Have you seen him?
May: You...didn't come to see me?
Sue: No no no, that's not it! I'd love to spend some time with you, Miss May, just...not now, okay?
May: Hmph! You don't just get a Girl's hopes up like that! I oughta teach you a lesson!
(Sue defeats May)
Sue: Kya! Miss May, please, calm down!
May: Sue......
Sue: It's nothing against you, Miss May, really! I just really want to see Bridget, is all.
May: ..................................
Sue: What? What's wrong?
May: ...You love him, don't you, Sue?
Sue: What?!
May: I've seen that look in your eye whenever you talk about Bridget. You'd do just about anything for him, wouldn't you? I know that feeling. That's how I feel about Johnny!
Sue: Hmm...So that's.........love?
(Enter Johnny)
Johnny: May! I've been looking everywhere for you! What're you doing on the ground!
Sue: She kind of...took a swing at me, Mr. Johnny, sir.
Johnny: Heh. Figures.
Sue: I'm really, really sorry, Mr. Johnny! I'll make it up to you one day!
Johnny: You could do that...Or you could make it up to me right now.
Sue: ....What's that supposed to mean?!
Johnny: I'll make you a deal, Doubtfire. You beat me in a fight, and you can go, no hard feelings. But if I win, then you have to work in May's place until she recovers, alright?
Sue: Kyaaaaaaaa...I got no time for this!
(Sue defeats Johnny)

(Sue enters Zepp...again)
Sue: Darn it, I'm backtracking! I guess it's a means to an end, though...
Potemkin: Young Master Doubtfire. What are you doing here?
Sue: Ah! Potemkin! I was looking for you! I have a question!
Potemkin: If I can, I will answer it.
Sue: Okay...Bridget. Where is Bridget?
Potemkin: Sigh...I bet you've heard this before, but...I might tell you if you defeat me.
Sue: What?! Why?!
Potemkin: I simply need to polish my skills. You're as good a fighter as any, Sue.
Sue: Hehehe! You flatter me! Well, in that case, I'd go for a tussle, sure! Let's both try our best, okay?
(Sue defeats Potemkin)
Potemkin: Well, you're certainly at the top of your game.
Sue: Nah, you're just saying that.
Potemkin: If you're looking for Bridget...Last I heard, he actually went back to the forest.
Sue: .....You've got to be joking. I went all around the world just to go back to the place I started from?! That was quite an adventure! Thank you so much, Potemkin! I'll never forget this!

(Sue enters Verdant)
Bridget: Kya! Sue! I heard you were looking for me!
Sue: Yeah...Yeah, I was. But not anymore.
Bridget: Hmm? Why not?
Sue: Because you're right in front of me, silly!
Bridget: Hehehe! You always did know how to make me laugh, Sue.
Sue: And YOU always know how to make me blush!
Bridget: Hehe! I heard you made a name for yourself, beating up pirates and taking on giants!
Sue: Who told you that?! I won a match with Potemkin! He's just a human like you!
Bridget: Yep...yep, he sure is. So you can deal with great strength well enough. Let's see how you do against a faster person!
Sue: Like...who?
Bridget: Well, like me!
Sue: You want to spar with me?! Okay! Let's give it all we got!
(Sue defeats Bridget)
Bridget: Wow! You've got some serious skill!
Sue: I...I could have done better, if my feelings hadn't gotten in the way.
Bridget: What feelings? Rovie, what are you talking about?
Sue: I......I really like you, Bridget.
Bridget: .............................
Sue: Like....I think...I think I love you.
Bridget: You're...just saying that, right?
Sue: No, Bridget, I...I really, really do...
Bridget: Wha----mmmmmm......

(Scene cuts to the ending picture, depicting Sue and Bridget sitting next to each other and kissing. Sue's hand is on Bridget's neck, and Bridget is gently running his fingers through Sue's hair while blushing Girlishly. Flowers surround them)
Sue: Don't ever leave me like that again...
Bridget: Nope...never again.
Sue: Good...cause I'd have to find you, no matter what!
Bridget: Can we stay like this...forever?
Sue: Always, Bridget. Always.

PATH 1 COMPLETE
(Credits roll. "Missing..." plays.)

Moveset, other paths, appearence, etc. to come! ^_^

Sue's Moveset! Killer! ^_^

Theme Song:
That's How it's Done: A fast, hard-rock rendition of the Puffy AmiYumi song "That's the Way It Is."

Stance: He hops nimbly back and forth.
Crouch: He sits on all fours like a cat, his tail twitching from side to side.

Standing Punch: A quick slap to the face.
Standing Kick: A fast, agile kick with short range.
Standing Slash: He jumps a bit, throwing both of his arms forward.
Standing Heavy Slash: He flails about, hitting three times: once with each hand, then his tail.

Forward + Punch: He spins about, punching widely.
Forward + Kick: He attempts a roundhouse kick.
Forward + Slash: No difference from Standing Slash.
Forward + Heavy Slash: He dives forward like a cat, rolling about before rising again. Good for punishing, but not much else.

Dust: He stalls a bit, then flips backwards feet first.
Jumping Dust: He thrusts his arms and legs forward.
Sweep: He attempts a sweep with his tail.

Jumping Punch: He simply throws a claw swipe in mid-air.
Jumping Kick: A quick, simple thrust kick.
Jumping Slash: He spins around like a tornado. Effective to do multiple hits, like Slayer's Jumping Slash.
Jumping Heavy Slash: He curls into a ball, rolling around.

Crouching Punch: Swipe at the feet.
Kick: Same deal, 'cept with his foot.
Slash: He throws his hands downward.
Heavy Slash: He rises, uppercutting the opponent in the jaw, Mortal Kombat style.
Bursts:
KYA!
Waa! Go away!

Throw:
He latches onto his opponent, slashing with his claws. Five hits.

Specials:
Park Avenue: qcf+P: He thrusts his arm forward dramatically for a three-hit strike. Combo-able into...
Tyson Street: qcf+K: He sweeps the opponent.
Hi Hi!: Shoryuken motion: His uppercut. He rises into the air, giggling ecstatically.
Any Way the Wind Blows: qcb+S: The obligatory Queen reference. He throws a ball of elemental wind at his opponent.
Honeysuckle Vine: hcf+S: He pulls back, then thrusts his leg into the air and down again. Standard juggling/anti-air technique.
Trip Around the Sun: hcf+HS: Oddly enough, a command grab. He clutches his opponent, then rams him into the nearest wall.

Overdrives:
Sunrise: qcfx2+P: He dashes at his opponent, striking with various punches and kicks before finishing with a strike of red Ki that sends his opponent flying as Sue poses cutely.
I'm a Rebel: hcf, hcb, K: He leaps toward his opponent, latching onto their face and scratching them all over. He ends by leaping off of them and sending his opponent crashing to the ground a few feet away. Rovie laughs a bit.

Instant Kill: P+K+S+HS, then qcfx2+HS:
Boogie-Woogie No. 5: He dives at his opponent and if he connects, both he and his opponent commence to dancing merrily. The opponent eventually grows very tired and Sue trips them with his tail. DESTROYED!

Taunt: He bends over a bit, asking the opponent if they're alright.
Respect: He claps his hands, giggling. "You're really good!" he says.

Music References: You asked for Japanese music references, right?
His attacks "Park Avenue" and "Tyson Street" are referencing a song by Trout Fishing in America entitled "Park Avenue and Tyson Street."
His attack "Hi Hi!" is obviously named after the song "Hi Hi," by Puffy AmiYumi.
Any Way the Wind Blows...yeah, you all know that one.
The attack "Honeysuckle Vine" is a vague Jimmy Buffett reference. The song "Tin Cup Chalice" mentions chewing on a honeysuckle vine.
"Trip Around the Sun" is a blatant reference to the Jimmy Buffett song of the same name.
"Sunrise" and "Boogie-Woogie No. 5" are both songs by Puffy AmiYumi.
"I'm a Rebel" is a homage to the song "She's a Rebel" by Green Day.
Also...of course, the character himself is named for the song "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash.
