I am aggravated and stressed because of my new job. Waitress at Pizza Hut. I was guaranteed a full time [40 hours a week] job as a cook at $7.65 an hour at least. They bumped me down to a waitress at minimum wage [$7.15/hr] plus tips. Where I was told I would have several tables a night and should earn $40-$100 in tips per night. The normal is about 3-4 tables a night during my shift. So, yeah. I'm also not getting anywhere NEAR the hours I was promised. They give me 3-4 hour shifts and I only get to work 3 days a week. They claim it's because I'm being "trained", but somehow I don't think so considering I was the ONLY waitress tonight AND I had to close the dining room down. By myself. No one there to train me how to do it, I just had to. So I'm thinking the training period is over...but I'm still getting crappy hours. stressed

Blah. I have 4 days off again this week. stare They haven't listed me as training yet on the timecards, but as production. Wednesday they made me read their handbook on all the policies, how to do things, etc. but I wasn't allowed to clock in until that was done. Which, qualifies as TRAINING which means I get paid to do it. Had to punch in late because of that, too. The manager has made me punch in late 3 times now. Out of 5 days. stare I work Sat.-Mon. with two 4 hour and one 3 hour shift. Looks like I'm only going to be getting 11 hour weeks...which means 22 hours every pay period. And even part time means I ought to be getting 30. So, yeah. I was looking in the classified ads and here's what I discovered.

Pizza Hut pays cooks $7.65/hr if you're lucky and they don't hire you as a waitress but request you get crosstrained as a cook so you can be a cook when they send their's home for $7.15/hr. And that's their starting pay. Supposed to be competitive wages. And YET, The Great Alaska Pizza Co. which is RIGHT down the street from Pizza Hut offers starting wages of $8.50/hr for a cook and around $7.50/hr for drivers + compensation + tips. Their starting managers get at least $10/hr and more for experience.

So I think I'm going to go and apply there. $8.50/hr would be a nice change fom $7.15/hr...even if its not the greatest of jobs and not one I'd really like, it'd allow me to help my Mom with the money issues.

xp It's minimum wage in Alaska because our cost of living is high. To live by yourself you need a minimum of $14/hr. and that'll just cover the necessities.

I...can afford stuff for my puppy, gas money...and little things around the house. sweatdrop Oh, and food for myself. But not enough to help my Mom...we might have to sell our house and move into a tiny place till next July with the increase on the mortgage. *sigh*

And I only got 16 hours for this coming week on the schedule. stare Out of the 11 I was due last time I only made 8...maybe 8.5 hours. sweatdrop

This week I've only got 19 hours. I need a new job. Fortunately, my sister's boyfriend's mom is looking into getting me something where she works.

There is a downloadable game called Fate that I got from AOL games. You have a free trial and then it is 19.95 to buy it and you can have it in your computer to play all you want. It is a cool rpg quest game where you go to the dungeon and gather gold and stuff.

I am glad to find a game that I can actually play on my computer. It is so hard to know, there are so many different games and stuff. So I stumbled upon a cool Windows Game Advisor site! It will scan your computer and advise you on what games you can play on your computer!

I found a few that I might get in the future from Amazon.com from that list. They update their game lists and you can join their site or not. I figured it was way cool so I joined. Go check them out:
