"I'm sure he'd agree, you too have seemed to become quite close, although I haven't seen the little bugger around here lately," she shrugged as if dismissing the statement, "but I do believe Nailah may be able to do more for you than me. The best I could probably come up with would be for a charm that added maybe fifty years, or maybe a soul bond. But I'm not quite sure what the effects on Kepi would be. There's nothing written on what happens when a bond is created with a normal animal." She smiled softly at Bastet. "Sorry I can not do more for you."

He found the talk of cats slightly amusing. The other Egyptian women here had cats, Aurahkah had him, he was a wolf. What Aurahkah had told Saradin when he had asked about him was right, he did make himself a wolf to fully contradict everything she was. He thought it was funny.

"Hopefully he would, I need to talk to Nailah anyway. I have not seen her in a little while. Thank you anyway." She poked at the ground with a claw and then looked up again trying to change the subject. Walking to the Great hall she motioned for them to follow. "So, Aura, why were you like that anyway, if you do not mind me asking."

Eclipse sent a private mental message to Aurahkah before giving her arm a nuzzling and walking down the hallway to her room. He had a sword to fetch and deliver.

Aura followed after Bastet, talking casually about the current subject as if it never happened to her or was just a story. "Sometimes I feel that I can't do what needs to be done since I've made the change to who I am now. Somehow my thoughts always find themselves focused on my father, and I can hear him in my head, egging me on. And like a fool everytime I listen to him...let myself listen to things I shouldn't, rememberer things I shouldn't...let myself slip back into being someone I hate so I can focus on what needs to be done and not worry about anyone but myself." She paused for a second, averting her eyes. "Cruel of me isn't it?"

Bastet watched her friend and did some quick thinking, "A bit cruel yes, but you can slip back out of it. And you should know that your friends are here and actually make you stronger instead of just give you more beings to think and worry over. Think of them as an advantage, and do not let memories you can not change haunt you." She laughed somewhat bitterly, "And the hardest advice to take is always your own." Sitting down in a chair she pulled out her flask and took one swig from it, replacing the cap afterwards.

She smiled again. "Isn't that just the truth. Sure giving advice is easy, but you're right, people rarely remember their own." Aura nodded. "Funny how I tell Saradin what you tell me, you know, about friends. Yet we all just seem to worry still. Vicious circle if you ask me." She shrugged as one Hand played with the bracelet above the other. "My family, both the present and the past...that's what I have to remember and try to forget all at the same time." Aura then looked up to Bastet. "What about you? Last time we talked like this, your memories still haunted you."

Bastet looked up and narrowed her eyes slightly, "Yes, it is a viscious circle, and you have turned the questions back to me. But do not worry this circle will come back to you." Sighing, she chewed on one claw and looked away. "Um, yes, well....they still haunt me to a certain extent, but going into the woods stirred up the memories even worse, that is why Nailah passed out, and Khenu, and nevermind." She gave up on her explaination opting to study the wall instead.

"I will tell you my bad memories if you tell me yours."

Aura took a seat in a chair across from Bastet and leaned against the chair's arm, her chin resting in her palm. "After the first decade or so that I was here, the first owners, Kali and Coban had gone away for a week. They left Coban's brother, my "uncle" Micah in charge. Micah hated me, for by this time they had figured me out. That man locked me in a closet for that whole time, no food, no water, no light. He had also chained up Eclipse with a chain that was specially crafted to bind creatures of magic, so he couldn't get to me." She paused and let it sink in. "Bad enough?"

Bastet raised one eyebrow, "Yes that is quite bad, and could make someone bitter, especially with old spirits popping up. But how did you let him get the best of you anyway? And I am sure he was straightened out later." She scowled some, let that spirit get anywhere near her.... she would find some wya to kill him again.

"I trusted Micah. It wasn't until after that happened that I was cautious of him. Basically it was "Come here Aurahkah, I need your help", walk, grab, shove, lock." She smirked slightly. "And yes, he did get in a great deal of trouble. Coban would of banished him from the manor had they not been brothers." She sighed and looked to Bastet. "Your turn."

She nodded, "So it was a he had been harboring those feelings and finally expressed them type of thing." She continued to nod until she looked slightly alarmed, "Oh no, this is an exchange information piece by piece isn't it?" Sighing and rubbing her temples she thought a moment. She paused before she started, "You already knew that the amulet I had found had stirred memories about Manu and Rashidi. Well, when I confronted Manu in the woods, I found out the extent to which he had played a hand in my fate. The bumbling idiot I knew had given me to the Romans and told them my secret so they could torture me endlessly. They thought it was fun once they knew I could heal, so they whipped and beat and cut. He even gave the romans new torture ideas while Rashidi slipped into a fragile state of mind. A different pupeteer was pulling the strings. I should have made sure he was dead the first time." She toyed with her sai some at the thoughts.

"The b*****d." Simple statement with intense force behind it. She would of asked the extent of the man's hand in her past, but no need to stir things up too much. This was more of a pass things along without doing the 'oh I'm so sorry for you' bit. "Well, you've made sure to deal with him this time haven't you? No offense or anything but anyone to take you on more than once is just insane." She waited for Bastet's answer while preparing herself to share more, if asked of her.

((Gr, midnight. Oh well, we can pick up from here if that's alright. and yay tomorrow's friday, we get to go vampire! night.))

Bastet waited a moment leaving Aura to her thoughts while contemplating her own. She hoped that this would be good for the both of them, so they would not lash out anymore, or even have the urge to. Everyone here seemed to have memories they wished to bury deep, even though that seems impossible now. Looking out a window, she saw the sun shine in brightly, hopefully meaning something good.

She looked to Aura, "So what about before that? In Egypt I mean. What made you a b***h then?"

Aura absolutely loved her friends bluntness at times. Straight to the point. "A combination of things really. My "family", not to mention the very lack of guidance, influence, and love in my crappy little life." She laughed slightly. "You know, the one thing most of us seem to have in common is that long lost lover from the past. I never had one. Maybe that's a reason to." She shrugged. "Maybe you can read my journal one day, that probably explains it all better than I can from memory."

Eclipse climbed out from under Aurahkah's bed, Soulforge held in his jaws. Bounding down the hall he came back to the great hall to sit next to Aurahkah, sword still in mouth.

"That would be an interesting read to be sure, but that is your private matter. Besides, now you have Vincent and I have seen you two play around. He did not see you in your most recent evil state did he? Your family was stupid not care about you." Not concerned about her own bluntness because it was better not to dance around a topic, especially when Aura has made the effort to change herself.

"And Manu is dead this time for sure. If he found a way to survive, then he is not of this world."

"Privacy seems somewhat lost in this house at times. I really wouldn't' care, reads like a fairy tale really." She drummed her fingers on the arm of her chair for a moment. "You know how Egypt was back then...everyone wanted a son. And no...Vincent didn't' see me in my most recent b***h mode. Hell he doesn't even know I have an eye color changing issue. In fact awful scarce. Vampire's need their privacy I guess." Aura shrugged then looked directly to Bastet. "Mind telling me a little about Omari? You seemed to have loved him very much."
