Nuriko hesitated at her words but finally reluctantly agreed. His first priority after all was to protect Miaka at any cost. Now would be the best time for escape as reinforcements had yet to come.

Subaru shook her head furiously, she had taken note of the symbols placed by her fellow seishi around the borders of Kutou but she couldn't leave now, there was too much at stake and she had to shroud all three of them and run - that would take more effort than controlling the snakes.

"Just go!" She ordered in a heavy accent, somethign that came to her while she was under some type of stress. Her eyes continued to flash and she directed the snakes to encircle and guard her while ducking the poisonous darts.

"I will join you in a short while, but I cannot cloud us all," She pointed out, murmuring a few words as she began to cloak Nuriko and Miaka until she could only see them, "From Kutou head west, you will come to a desert village - wait there and I will join you, Sairou is our safest bet!"

::The head guard began barking all over the place, making such a ruckus, calling guards from this way and that, the whole palace would soon be fully alert and soldiers would stream to the gate en masse. The guards closest to the intruders last whereabouts, and Subaru, charged menacingly, wapons positioned ready to strike...some sowrds, some spears, on or two large hammers. Archers began fillinf the towers and arming and aiming their bows::

::The elite sped through the palace, finding bits and peices of information leading to Nakago's whereabouts, BUT upon reaching the diningn room, he could not pass through Nakago's barriier. So he went to plan B: Find as many of his friends as he could before returning to the gate and pursuing the invaders::

To Nakago- I leave you in charge of the RPGs. They've been wonderful, and I beat myself up everyday for not being to handle them right now. Do what you want with them, if that means putting them on hiatus, or continuing on without me, that's fine. Replace my characters if you have to, I have complete faith and trust in you.

To the other RPers- I'm leaving you in Naka's hands, I apologize for my lack of being there for you all and I hope to get back into it as soon as I possibly can. In the mean time, have fun and be nice to Naka (that means you Korin-chan).

"Hai Nakago..." Yui softly agreed knowing that it wouldn't do her any good to beat herself up about her decision since the damage was already done but at least she learned from her mistake. Nakago was right, after having a full stomach, then the two of them may be able to decide on their next move. She faintly smiled up at Nakago and knew that as long as she had him at her side, than they were bound to summon the beast god. Of course it may be delayed with all the happenings around the palace but none of it will actually be stopped. It suddenly dawned on her that some sacrifices would have to be made in order to make Kutou a better place. War seemed necessary since it was the other country who wanted it and continued to bring threats here even after she tried making peace with them. How was it possible to trust them if they simply can't live up to their words? She had lived up to her words but it was they who broke it. Being naive in this world was something she couldn't afford, the people of Kutou depended on her to make the right decision and surely with Nakago on her side, she'll make the right ones. Her gaze then fell around the table once more. The amount of food inside the palace still suprised her and wondered why the servants put this much on if only two people were going to be dinning in.

[***[Keiko's Revelation***]

The tiny girl simply sauntered through the door - being ethereal and not of the material realm, she was not particularly easy to stop but her face had matured somewhat as the grim expression overcame it and she shook her head slowly...perhaps it was time for a little explanation of a few things to rock the boat.

"Subaru-san is here because the Priestess of Suzaku; Miaka entered the city in an attempt to find her friend," She explained in her squeaky voice, her gaze directly on Nakago as she began to shake her head again, "Subaru understood the dangers and ran in to retrieve her; they are leaving now you know."

She then took a breath and pulled herself up onto the chair beside Yui, her tiny legs dangling off the edge, "As for the seishi breaking the rules first...Nakago, you should not have told your spies to enter their lands, dress as their men and start a war with Konan...you claim the seishi to be meddling and yet you threaten to kill thousands of innocents who are not at war." Again she paused and a sad smile rose onto her face as she contemplated her next words; she could only say so much and she knew that.

"And I broke no rules...I only have an agreement with Toroki on some occasions," She pointed out, "He knows nothing of what is to transgress but my family live in Sairou and if you are to kill them then I must protect them."

"She's worried about you, you know. She ran into see you despite being warned that Kutou was dangerous and they tried to hurt her, Subaru and Nuriko were forced to attack and Nuriko and Miaka now flee..." She finished and turned briefly towards Yui.

It was then that she returned her gaze to Nakago, the grim expression returning; "Douin will be dead soon," She murmured in a tone that alsmot resembled a promise. Douin, was of course; Subaru.

[***Subby-san's escape plan***]

This, was going to hurt and she knew that now...she would not come out of this one standing if she attempted to cast any fancy magic and as she gritted her teeth, she called out three simple words. These words, were the same words that Keiko had used or would have used to shroud herself in the ethereal caccoon and they worked to great effect.

Subaru soon, was pulled into the air and immediately curled into a small ball - allowing the ethereal tendrils to wrap around her foetus like pose to protect it from the oncoming onslaught. The caccoon would work in the same fashion as the one that Keiko had used...weapons would smash and for a brief period of time a limb would go numb but the only other problem was that she would have to deal with a continued onslaught - eventually she would have to give in...

::Nakago siged as they were about to eat and were yet again interrupted. It was quite a suprise than anyhting had gotten in his barrier, but keeping a soldiers cool, he simply watched Yui the entire time, all but ignoring Keiko until the very end of the one sided conversation. The entire time she was speaking, he slowly continued to address Yui::

"Apologies Lady Yui...I had thought we would not be disturbed...but it appears I was mistaken.."

::As she looked over the spead before them, he commented on it as well::

"The Emperor has set things in place for such lavish displays, neglecting the people as he remains here in the palace..."

::His attention was grabbed when she mentioned that Subaru would be dead soon. He had to assume that she meant subaru...the only one within the area left of the Byakko that he could sense.::

"Dead? That is not neccessary...Leave us and have her surrender to the guards, and she will be dealt with when the Lady and I are finished here."

Keiko quirked a brow at his demands and shrugged, "Why would she do that?" she enquired calmly, "And why would I tell her?" For a child, this little wraith was far too clever for her own good, it was almost an indication that she wasn't a child but in fact an adult within a small form, "If she dies, then Toroki will know you broke your promise anyway - you know her reasons for coming in, they weren't meant to harm...now all she wants to do is to - " She paused and shook her head, her mind full of small ideas that she could use.

"How about this," She said at last and tilted her head to the side, "How about I bring her here and you can talk to her yourself?" She offered and shook her head, "Make your own demands and see how it goes; not like she can go anywhere anyway." She muttered and slipped from her chair, her feet landing against the floor without a sound as she began to 'patter' around the area, observing every little thing of interest to her.

"Or you could just let her go," She added as an afterthought, "She was only here to pull another priestess out of trouble."

After dazing out for a few moments, Miaka soon reliezed she was in Nuriko's arms. She turned tomato red, and more flushed than a toliet she jumped out of his arms and flew herself backwards.

"Please...leave me alone..." she said quietly. She wanted to help Yui. Miaka did have feelings for Nuriko and it killed her but she softly mouthed with her lips, "I don't want you near me..." and she wiped her eyes and turned around to run the other way.

"This is how it has to be...Yui should be my top priority. Subaru was right and all these Kutou people scare me...I need to save her..." she said to herself as she was running and letting tears fall down her petal pink cheeks.

"I'm sorry everyone..."

::Nakago's gaze left Yui at this point, following this strange being. Never had he encountered a creature of any kind that he could not exert his power upon, but this little girl...seemed be able to even thwart him, and as always, her words caught his attention.::

"The promise was for the peaceful release of the Byakko, and the return of the earring...on condition they leave us in peace. Her return has stirred up trouble regardless of her intentions...therefore, we would have only broken our end because she broke yours. But we could argue this all day and get nowhere..."

"No...do not bring her here. The lady and I have business to attend to that does not concern her."

::He stepped casually to on of the doors, summoning a servant to just outside his barrier::

::To the Servant:: "Have a room prepared for a guest who is not to leave that room until I arrive." ::Back to Keiko:: I will meet with her there, After the Lady and I finish here."

::He then spoke quietly to the servant::

".....Palace library.......selection of scrolls......immediately....."

::Back to Keiko, returning to his seat near Yui::

"Go and tell her, I am sure that she can find her way there without violating the Lady Yui's trust even more than it has already been violated..."

::The last words lingered, 'another priestess', and he pondered them as he waited for Yui and himself o be left alone.::

Nuriko seemed taken aback by her harsh words. She couldnt have meant them, could she? Even if she did, it shouldnt matter. He had to protect her and be near her regardless. Even if she hated him.

"M-Miaka!!"

He shouted, dashing after her, making his way harshly through the crowds of people, taking some sort of care not to injure anyone of course... yet. He kept his gaze on the young girl as she headed straight back towards the palace. Baka! Why cant she at least think before she acts... I think I need a career change.

: biggrin espite his efforts to not injure anyone, the narrow-minded desire of Nuriko left its mark on the local poulace. The crowds finally began to part qucik enough to avoid him as he followed, after the few rare incidents where Nurikos strength, even when held back, was still a bit much. No one was seriously injured, but a few of the locals got their first and perhaps last flying lessons as he carreened through Kutou.::

The tiny girl sighed and simply wandered off to do her 'duty', this of course was to transport Subaru safely to the palace without harming people but in order to do that she would really have to go 'all out' on the illusionary spells. Like subaru, she could muster and control magic, although not to the extent of the seishi and as a result, she could harness the powers to scare the people away from the caccoon like object.

Her tiny figure soon faded from view as she began to walk the ethereal planes and after a few moments, she began to lose her childlike and angelic appearance. She began to mature, and the peculiar markings began to draw themselves across her face as the large, almost metallic wings extended from her back - anything to get a reaction...they couldn't damage her after all; not in the way they desired at least.

At last, she did reappear, however now she was by the caccoon, her almost demonic appearance a startling change from what it had previously been as she began to stroke at the edges of the caccoon - clasping the two, thick ethereal wisps with her hands before taking flight.

Higher and higher she went, her metallic like wings flashing within the sun's rays before she literally, backflipped in the air and tore towards the palace once more with the large caccoon dragging behind her - no fights, no nothing...it was a peaceful means of transport, now which room did he want her in?

As Miaka was running away she opened her clenched shut eyes and reliezed she was outside in the city. She slowly came to a stop in front of a meat bun vendor and turned her head. It smelt good. She lifted her head into the air and sniffed the vender's food. Oooh it was nice. She opened her mouth and drool poured out. She felt as if she hadn't eaten in days and all her mind could think of was eating that entire pack.

She then remembered her money! Sure Nuriko said it was no good but it was worth a try! She's get some food and then run and see Yui! She dug through her pocket. She pulled out some yen and held her hand out.

"Excuse me...umm can I have about...50 meat buns for this?"

"What! What is this garbage! Are you trying to rip me off!" he replied.

"Umm...acutally keep this and give it to your children 500 years from now and you'll be rich!!!" she said trying to make herself more believable. But he didn't believe her.

"You little...disgusting brat!" he said lifting his hand up and smacking her down to the ground. Miaka hit her head on the not-so soft ground and somewhat passed out. The man picked her up and gave her a disgusting look, "She'll be able to make me a profit..." he said to himself.

"Is that any way to treat a lady?"

An angry voice asked, standing beside the two. Nuriko had observed the scene between the two a short distance away and was shocked to see the mans actions He could understand it from the guards, but not from street vendors.

"And believe me, she wouldnt MAKE you any sort of profit. Instead she would just eat it all and cause you all sorts of trouble. I'm not in the best of moods today either. So I'll ask you once, give the girl to me now, or Ill make sure you can never handle anyone again."

He was indeed resisting the urge to beat the man, but he thought he had caused enough commotion and attention from chasing her. He would rather just get her and Subaru back to Sairou.

::As ordered, one of the servants set in motion the preparation of a room for Subaru to stay in until Yui and Nakago were finished. Inside was cleaned, what little it had to, and was set up as if to host a dignitary or some similar guest. Guards were on patrol narby and two were positioned at the door, as the person who would occupy the room was supposed to stay there. Out of the window, hung a tapestry of a bengal tiger. Seeing what he had of the creature he was dealing with, he assumed the connection could be made. Though he had not known she would fly with Subaru, such was something that couild be noticed by air or ground..and was not something normally seen around the palace. No one questioned the orders of the Shogun however::

::At the appearene of this demon-like creature, most of the guards were taken back, some fled, some cowered in fear, but were unable to move...a few archers sent a last minute volley at the creature and cacoon while they ducked away for cover, or ran. They had no way of following such, nor did many of them want to. the elites arrived shortly after and being informed of the events, followed after at ground level, trying to stay out of sight, while keeping the "target" in sight::
