stare *This was a bad idea... Karasu was as sure of that as she was sure of anything right now. But she could not help Melissa, they were too different, with nothing in common except a tie to Evan/Hugin...In frustration the lady stood and quickly walked out of the cave.* I need some air...
*Karasu didn't like the way this was all headed, her instincts had sent her to Hugin and away from Munin, but now she had to wonder why... what use was she on this fools quest anyhow, the future was never certain, just as the wind itself.. always shifting and moving with every obstacle in its path.*
*Karasu, guardian of the west wind stood out on the quiet mountain side as the sun set off in the distance. She closed her eyes and let go of the other senses attached to the physical body, her form almost misting away as she listened to the light breeze drifting along the mountain feeling the stir of pine needles and the playful tug at the low bushes poking up from snow drifts. She drew strength from a higher wind, mentally following it along the high reaches of the mountain and almost losing her copreal form altogether as the wind rushed across a tower! Another day walk, two at the most, but the path was a hard one for humans to follow, gone in some places as the wind showed her. A frozen waterfall and a steep cliff face would be the markers though... if she could get them that far then perhaps they could find out if this was the place that they were looking for...*
But why didn't we see it before? *Icy blue eyes opened once more to look at the world around her, she had lost her focus and her outfit while she re-energized herself. Her long black hair fell in soft waves around her shoulders and down her back, the ends almost trailing in the snow around her bare feet, a thought and a bit of power were all it took to put stout leather boots on her feet and a long blue grey dress on her body, the color's of a storm swept sky... Karasu looked up the mountain and pondered what power could have kept her from knowing the tower was there yesterday...*

Hakan looked up at Evan, "Do not fear, she will not lose her individuality. In fact, her personality will overcome Freki's" The boy moved closer to Evan and Melissa, motioning for the man to lie the girl down in the middle of the protective rune. Freki followed him.
"It is a shame that Munin is not here. She knows the true tales. Such as why Sol is forever chased by Skoll." The boy began walking around Melissa, every few paces, making an additional rune marking to the circle.

He looked at his work and nodded, content. "It is not because he wishes to devour her, although he will when the time comes, but because he wished to woo her, but Skoll is a monster, as is his father, and his father's father. What goddess would wish such a burden on herself?"
He stepped back, his words silent on the winds, but Melissa would hear his words inside her head. "Ravenous is the wolf, and ravenous is the soul. For knowledge, for power." Melissa would see the shape of the wolf slowly dissolve and then become a woman who then merged with the girl. The woman's voice whispered the secrets of shapechanging, sharing her knowledge and her power.
Melissa would then feel a great hunger from the wolf, for flesh. A hunger as if she'd waited years to eat. Now Melissa could become not just a cat, but a wolf full grown and capable of killing. A loss of innocence if you will. For she would also know Hakan's true identity, that of the boy who would be Tyr. he who would make it possible for the gods to bind Fenrir, at the cost of his own arm, so it was destined to be, so the wolves would be commanded by him.

Those runes were not entirely common knowledge.
Only a handful knew them, and only a handful knew those stories. Not to mention that himself and Munin wasn't exactly a public fact either. Just seconds after Karasu had left, he took his own leave as well. There was nothing more he could do here, and unless he was needed immediately, he was out.
He figured the shields would not hold against much that this boy could see, so he did not think. He only moved, keeping his musings to himself. Freki. One of Odin's hunting wolves, which meant the other was Geri. Another indicator, and a strong one. This narrowed the field of possible identities for the boy considerably.
As soon as he was a good twenty paces away, far away enough for him to be out of broadcast range for his thoughts, he began feeling for Karasu's presence. She was everywhere. Not in one particular place, but just everywhere. All he had to do was wait for it all to focus on one point, and he knew where she would be.
Within a few moments, he found it. She was only a few meters into the forest, trying to clear her head. As Evan headed towards her position, he noticed the expression on her face. Something had happened.
"Is everything all right?"

Someone is playing with me... someone powerful enough to hide from the wind itself...or I have lost the ability to see the world with my true senses sweatdrop *That thought actually worried her a little... she had spent a lot of time so very powerless after Gabriel... guarded by Munin and Hono, for the sake of the entire world... Karasu turned to look at him, the antique dress sleeve trailing in the snow, tracing patterns that were a lot deeper than a couple little pieces of velvet should have*A tower...old but untouched by Gaia's Breath... a day and a bit, perhaps longer if I can not find a better way around a bad looking cliff face*her scowl returned as she turned to face a quick gust tugged at her hair to get her attention* and a storm coming up from behind us...fast, I can slow it down a bit, but not by more than a day.. You know I have never been good with winter storms

Evan nodded. The boy was telling the truth as far as the dangers went.
"Your senses and abilities have nothing to do with it... We are being tracked, that's what it means. Someone is hindering our path, and I believe that for the next few days we will most likely see more of it. Best not to hold back the storm- that spell inside the cave could take a while. Not to mention that by its complexity, it will go badly for Melissa if rushed. We stay until it passes."
Evan, sure that he was not being listened in on by the child now that he was this far from the cavern, continued onward.
"Speaking of that spell, the boy knows the Runes. Only a handful of people know of them, and of the tales behind the Aesir. Not to mention those two wolves are, beyond any sort of doubt, Freki and Geri. Which means that this boy could be one of two major Aesir, and the All-Father is dead.
"That just leaves one."

In her dream she was too tired to keep up, she couldn't go anymore, and everyone was leaving her behind, becoming distant shadows. There was nothing to to do but sit in snow and cry. "Evan, Hakan, Karusu, please come back!" she yelled, "Don't leave me here!"The door appeared, whispers from the void were carried by the wind of a gathering winter storm. They don't care. You're a burden, a foolish mortal who bumbles into things she has no part in. I can teach you what they would never dare show you. If you don't let me out of here though, you'll die a painful death."Why? You didn't make me this way to help, you just wanted to use me! I'm not listening to you anymore!"Then you will soon get to know Hel. My spirit will converge elsewhere.Tabi Kat
"Ravenous is the wolf, and ravenous is the soul. For knowledge, for power."Quote: Melissa would see the shape of the wolf slowly dissolve and then become a woman who then merged with the girl. The woman's voice whispered the secrets of shapechanging, sharing her knowledge and her power. As the shape of the woman took form from the wolf the door burst open of its own accord, and the cold became intense, even in the cavern where Melissa slept, the temperature would plunge. The fire turned blue, absorbing heat instead of emmiting it. In the dream, the door was beggining to crack the dreamscape with the darkness of the void. Nails, the mere tips of Ymir's nails were tearing away at the seal, below was an icy claw the size of a small country, a spiritual manifestation of Ymir's true form. A harsh voice roared from the void. I will not permit another of Odin's vile pet's to disturb my vessel. You will not teach her, you will not go near this girl! Ymir was threatening to break the seal, sending the girl to Hel and returning his collected spirit to be dispersed througout Gaia. Nevertheless, the merger continued despite Ymir's posturing. Melissa turned around, screaming at the door. "No, get back old man!" she yelled, "Get back where you belong, now!"With those words, the door slammed shut, the dreamscape repaired, and the seal remained, but there was still a final whisper before the door vanished. This was for the other presence, not Melissa. What of my progeny? And what of Narfi, and what of Vali? The grudge will not be forgiven, nor forgoten.
In her dream, Melissa felt a slight pain from the change, a change she was in control of, yet guided through step. Her eyes yellowed. Her hair turned grey before growing everywhere. There was an expansion of the ribcage, an evening of the limbs followed by an extension of the tail bone. Fingers narrowed into paws with sharp nails. Her nose extended to a muzzle, blackening an moistening as her teeth sharpened. When the change was complete, Melissa would wake up healthy, only she wouldn't be human. Quote: Melissa would then feel a great hunger from the wolf, for flesh. A hunger as if she'd waited years to eat. Now Melissa could become not just a cat, but a wolf full grown and capable of killing. Melissa was indeed a wolf physically, and a very hungry one at that, though she resisted that hunger. Mentally, she was still Melissa. A funny as she stood up, a wolf caught in torn winter clothing and a heavy coat. She pawed at the ground, shaking and pawing off clothes that were more of an annoyance in her new form. Amazingly, she felt comfortable, because she had the feeling she could change back whenever she wanted to. Right now though, the fur was warm, and comfortable, and she didn't want the pain of another transformation. "You're a God?" she asked, sitting down. What she said might have been clear to Hakan, but to anyone else, it would sound like a wolf panting in some indescernable pattern.

The boy just laughed, fearless in the face of the being that tried to control Melissa. "Go away old man, wait for your time. It is not now. Nor is the girl yours." He then helped Melissa shed her coat and things, though he brushed her coat gently, removing any stray bits. She would be warm enough now. That was for sure. At least once they got some meat into her. She hadn't attacked them, which meant her mind was strong.
As Melissa addressed him, Hakan sat down on his heels and rocked back and forth, just like a child. "I am no god, I am Hakan, I am Tyr, I am old, and I am young. I am father, and I am son." He put his fingers to his lips, asking Melissa to keep his secret for now.

What a tangled web the ancients weave...*Karasu shok her head with a bit of a smile, spreading her hands out before her, palms facing eachother. For a moment Evan would likely be able to see the strands of pure air that she had wrapped arround her fingers, the lines crossing and weaving together to create a latice almost like a childs game of "cats cradle". Karasu studied her creation for a monet before the lines dissapeared from sight again and a wild wind wipped about the pair before racing off through the forest, shaking snow off of trees all the way down the mountain and even starting a minor avalanche* let the storm come then... but I do not like the idea of being tracked like some common prey stare
*the lady turned back towards the cave, changing back to her light grey outfit from the morning with a thought* The tea will have gotten cold buy now...and likely the children will be hungry..
*It was all a mess again, she didn't have a clue what they were after from this little quest... well she knew the story, but why go looking for trouble like this? Didn't the legends say that the girl was guarded by a giant or some such thing, Karasu could not remeber the entire tail... in fact she could not remeber where she had heard it from in the first place! But the gods of the past were all supposed to be gone, lost to the ages by now, so how was it that the lot of them kept popping up in this time? The elements were eternal, but gods were created by men and like men they only lasted so long.*

Evan simply made his way back into the cave, without saying anything. Tangled web it may be, but it was their web. They were just threads in it, and while irritating, it was difficult to change. Difficult, but not impossible. He would watch out for whoever was tracing their movments from now on, if he could. If not, he would make sure that whatever plans this unknown entity had for them were for naught.
You will not find me so easily manipulated. I will dance to your tune for now, whoever you are... But once I find you and get my answers, you will die. Slowly.
And then, he was back in the cavern.
"Hmm... I see that everything has turned out well."

A nod, it wasn't like she could speak much english as a dog, and she didn't know if the others could speak wolf. Melissa walked up to Karusu and apologetically nuzzled her leg with the side of her face. Everything was so confusing, first she was part cat and now she was a wolf, it made her wonder if she had been dreaming the whole time. Sharp teeth bit into her paw. "Yelp!"That felt real enough. This was scary yet cool at the same time, and she wasn't even worried about remaining a wolf, because she felt like she could change back whenever she wanted. Hopefully her feeling was right. Hugin "Hmm... I see that everything has........." Pounce, she ran forward and jumped into him, her forepaws on his chest with quite a deal of force. If he didn't kill her, she'd slobber all over his face with puppy style kisses. Shleck, yuck, eww!

Hakan laughed as Melissa made her charge at Evan. Freki of course was mentally cringing at the pup like behavior of her new charge, but the girl was in control as stated by Hakan. Slowly, he stood up and nodded at Evan.
"Most everything went according to plan. But I think she'll be better off in that form for now. It will keep her warmer and ward off most physical dangers and is easier to move. If only I were so lucky." He waved a little cherbic arm around and sighed like an old man.

"Yes.... if only. You and I, before we go anywhere, need to talk..."
Evan said this while being licked by the quite happy wolf, a chuckle rising from his throat. She was most decidedly happy. He couldn't understand what she was saying (nor did he try), but he could read an animal's expressions. A voice rang in her head; his voice.
You seem quite happy to see me. Are you all right?
He wouldn't ask whether he did anything to her- of course he did. He had warned that something would happen, and it did. It would probably have several adverse effects, but it wasn't like there was another choice. Hopefully, she could understand his thoughts.

*Karasu had a chance to pat the wolf on the head before she was off to slobber all over Evan instead. The lady smiled slightly as she sat down by the fire, taking a nice warm air current she lightly wrapped it around Hakan before she shoved the tea pot back in the fire with a scowl* I knew it would be cold by now...
I'm case you were wondering Evan... I still have not learned to cook!*It was a bit of a trend of sorts, Hono could burn water if given enough distraction, Munin understood the science of cooking but had no feel for it, and Karasu didn't need to eat... so there was no real need for her to bother learning* xp

Hakan chuckled, and moved towards Karasu, "Milady, permit me. The storm will not pass this night. " He turned to Evan and Melissa, "We should also feed the cub, before she devours us.." Without another word, Geri turned and ran off into the night. He would be back shortly with food.

Tabi Kat Hakan chuckled, and moved towards Karasu, "Milady, permit me. The storm will not pass this night. " stare It had better pass before morning, or I will give it a talking to like it has never had before*Karasu muttered under her breath as she looked to see if she had packed anything else of any use besides the tea set*
