"Well, would you like some of my chicken salad?" he offered politely.
(That's ok.)

"Hm?" she mused, glancing up, "uh, no thank you." she said, declining politely. She didn't eat meat frequently, though she wasn't a vegetarian (she just preferred vegetables and the like as opposed to eating too much meat). "I'm alright with my fruit." she said as she picked up an apple and gingerly took a bite out of it.

"Ok," he said with a smile as he continued to prepare his sandwich. "So how's work been? I'm sorry my sister was so nosey the other day."
He took a bite down on his sandwich and enjoyed. He then looked up into the sky. It was a nice warm day and not too warm. It was just perfect. Nothing could ruin this day.

With a smile she said, "It's been just fine. The same old thing, anyway." taking another quick bite she asked, "And don't worry about it. How's your work been?" She herself was quite enjoy this day, this weather. She preffered it when it was like this, not hot, nor cold. Just lovely.

"Well, the boss just hired a new secretary," he said. He sighed. "She's such a clutz. She dumped coffee on me as she was going by my desk. I guess it could have been worse. It could have been hotter and fresh from the coffee maker. But I had to go home and change."

Melody smiled as she heard that, "Yes, it could have been. You're lucky it wasn't." she put her fingers gently over her lips, a giggle just barely escaping.

"Oh, you think that's funny?" he asked with a slight smile on his face. "She also made me spill some paper work on the floor when I ran into her. She had to have been going down that hall at the speed of light."
"Anyways, if she stays, I'd probably have alot of stories to tell about her," he added.

She smiled gentlyto him in response, "Oh yes. I look forward to hearing stories about you, and your work." She closed her eyes, tipping her head to the breeze gently, "It's beautiful out, isn't it?"

"Yes," Dar said looking all around him. He observed a couple of birds pecking at the ground nearby. It was as if they, too, were having a picnic. Perhaps they even were in love. "Look at those birds over there," he said, pointing to the blue birds that were having their lunch. "Suppose they're like us?" he asked.

She smiled softly in return, gazing lovingly at the birds as they ate, "Perhaps they are." she nodded slightly before adding, "I love animals...infact I love all living things." she laughed a little, "I'm a bit sentamental, I guess."

Dar softly laughed. He started to stare into her eyes absently minded. He could think of anything more to say, but that wasn't really the problem. He was just enjoying the moment and relaxing. He smiled as he looked into her eyes. 'How I'd love to be with her all the time,' he thought to himself. He pictured himself holding her hand, holding the door for her, and kissing her. His face started to turn red at the thought.

Melody glanced up from her own thoughts, looking to Dar again. He really was sweet, and very kind to her...She noticed him blush, and, as if naive, asking him timidly, "Is something wrong?"
((Oh yes. So it seems.))

"Hm?" he said snapping out of it. "Oh, no. Nothing's wrong." In his mind he said, 'everything's perfect.' Then he started to eat again. "Hmm. What do you do when you get home from work everyday?" he asked, trying to get back into conversation.

She gave him a soft smile, "Nothing special, really." she gave a half hearted shrug before continuing, "I make dinner for myself and my mother, usually. Do the chores I need to." she rested her hin in her palm, then, looking at the birds again, wistfully, "I usually end my evenings with a good book." She nodded at this, as if satisfied before casting her gaze back up to him, "And you? What sort of things do you do in your leisure time?"
