Kari sighed. "I dunno. I just haven;t been able to love another for some time...Not since I've...well...not since I've come here anyways..."
Kari began to look back at the past that haunted her. Her parents' murders. They were one of the few things Gyras, Troy, and Damien didn't know about her...and she really wanted to keep it that way. Though they had been very good to her, things like that...well, she liked to keep them to herself.
Realizing what she just said she shook her head. "Not that Sparta is a bad place or anything I just...I mean...you and Damien and Gyras have been really great friends to me...."

He scratched the back of his head and looked at her questioningly. "Yeah, I know...you just seem to be thinking about something else. Are you alright?"

Kari shook her head and playfully punched Troy in the arm. "Naw, it's nothin'." Kari said to him with an almost forced laugh.

Troy raised an eyebrow, but left the subject alone. "Alright..." He said, shaking his head. "It looks like we're almost back to the Party Room." He said, noticing the light from the windows.

"Yeah..." Kari said, as the rain began to let up. She then leaned against Troy's shoulder. "What time is it?" she asked, "It was hardly 7:30 when I left to find Damien..."

"Hmm...I left around 8:30 to come find you, and it didn't take more than 15 minutes. I'd say it's almost 9 o'clock." He said, smiling lightly as he looked down at her. "Why do you ask?"

Troy chuckled and looked at the ground. "Yeah, I couldn't take it anymore. The drinking didn't help much, either..." He said, shaking his head, then looking back up at her.

"Naw its nothin'" Kari said as she felt the warmth of his arm around her shoulder. For some reason, Kari felt a strange feeling. It was one she hadn't felt in a long time. It was tingly and warm.
Strange...
Was it love?
