Chiriko thanked the man and shut the door behind him. Setting his belongings on the bed, Chiriko got out a scroll and ink and began to write about the Suzaku Warriors.

"Tamahome, Mitsukake, Tasuki, Nuriko, Hotohori, Chichiri....and Chiriko. Hard to believe i'm also one of them." Chiriko looked up and sighed. "Maybe tomorrow i'll find more clues on how to find at least one Suzaku."

With that said, Chiriko grabed an oddly shaped rock and shoved it under the door. The rock fit perfectly and with that, The door could not be opened from the other side.

The night had crept upon them. Twilight threatened the sky as Chichiri spotted the small neat little village ahead. He slowed the horse to a trot as he focused his energy into finding the miko. It was amazingly easy. She stuck out like a torch in the dark. The monk dismounted and winced. There was a soreness in his legs that clearly reminded him how unusual it was for him to ride for long distances.

"She's in this house no da," he told Hotohori as he knocked politely on the door. True, he was with the emperor of Konan, but manners dictated that he not burst into the dwelling. As he waited for the owners to answer he found himself wondering what kind of girl the miko would be.

Despite his outward poise he found himself worrying.

What if she doesn't like me no da? Well it's not like she has to like me, but I mean, she is the Suzaku no miko...and I'll still protect her na no da. Demo, it would be a shame if we didn't get along.

Kouji finally got the bucket of water up. He pondered over what to do since she was out cold. "Well I could...that could be very stupid though, very stupid. Yeah but on the other hand she isn't just thirsty now she's out cold. Yes but all the same Kouji she won't exactly be shouting her thanks," he argued with himself. "Well let's see now, I'll ask myself what would Genrou do and then do the opposite. So, what would Genrou do?"

He took a moment to think and then gave a heavy sigh. "Genrou would probably do nothing or go call for help that's what," he murmured. "Which leaves a predicament. Oh well, here goes nothing, at least I'll wake her up, that's something and if I don't then I'll need something." He then added, "cool the fever as well."

Without another moment's though Kouji dumped half the bucket off water over the girl leaving half for her to drink.

Heavy amounts of sweat poured down Yui's paled figure as she drifted further and further into the unconscious world. In her mind, she saw nothing but darkness than the strange room she was aimlessly drifting in soon became flooded with water and a small gasp escaped her lips as she could feel herself drowning. "N...NOOO!" Yui frantically cried out, her eyes shooting wide open only to see Kouji starring right down at her. Completely startled by the sudden wake she recieved, Yui instinctly pushed Kouji away and quickly scrambled up to her feet, mainly using the well behind her for support. Slowly, as her eyes adjusted to the dark and her mind recalled the whole day, Yui's sudden panic subsided and her eyes apologetically fell upon Kouji, "G....gomen, y...you just startled me..." The young girl managed to utter out as her teeth clattered in a desperate attempt to warm up her body. Why was she suddenly cold?! How had she gotten wet? It wasn't long until her once forgotten sneezing fit soon began. Oh no...not again...Her entire body completely shivered from the cold and Yui lightly wrapped one arm around herself while the other hand kept itself occupied by covering her ongoing sneezes.

Kouji had the grace to look embarressed as she started to shiver, well at least it had woken her. "Least you're not unconscious anymore," he muttered sheepishly. "Kouji there's more important issues right now!" he scolded himself suddenly. "Sheesh you're freezing now."
Though he was a bandit Kouji could be chivalerous if he thought the person was worth it, well at least that's how he viewed himself to be at times anyway. Without a second thought *rare in the bandit's case* he took off his long, cream and rather worn shirt and bundled it around the girl. "I know it's not exactly thick or anything but it'll help dry you off at least maybe until we get you back indoors." He then added to himself, "course it ain't exactly warm indoors Kouji..." He scratched the back of his head with a sigh.

(((Eep...Kitty isbedraggled with School and Life...So let us get through this night...and get to the next day to start anew. I can send Tomo on some mission while we wait for the Kitty.)))

Such a quarrel should be inconsequencial, the Soldier in him told Nakago. So he gave one last glance at the bandit, then turned and headed to the room that had been set aside for him. Closing the door behind him...he discarded the more "cumbersome" parts of his armor, lay his cape over the back of a chair and set his sword and whip on the chair seat. The tessen he examined once more, and then returned it to his belt. He half expected the bandit to try to "steal" it from him while he slept. He opened the window to his room, andthe whoosh of air promptly put out the candles and lamps. He looked out towards the Capital city in the distance, then turned his back on it and lay down in the comfortable bed.

[heh, this is the neverending night xd ]

Yui lifted her brow in suprise as she felt a sudden small warmth wrapped around her. It wasn't much but it was the thought that count. A small blush crept upon her cheek at the now shirtless man before her but lucky it could be mistaken due to her fever. Only a few hours remained till morning and Yui lightly nodded her head in agreement. "Agrigato." Yui softly spoke, still feeling a bit woozy but at least now she wasn't feeling like she was suffercating. She had kept the bandit awake long enough and he still needed his sleep. He needed his sleep too and she had the feeling he wouldn't be able to sleep until she was back inside. With her remaining strength, the house looked a fit far, especially when her entire body felt entirely fatigue.

The fish was on the hook...

"Oh...If you find it...I would happily pay you for your help. It means so much to me to have these...I do not think I could face her again without them..."

He stepped towards him, reaching into his pocket to pull the "other" earring out to finish the illusion...he would only need about 30 seconds and the rest of the gang would be in place.

"It looks something like this." He said, holding it up so as to have a reasonable view, then pocketing it again and pretending to turn and look for it, a smile spreading across his face as his other hand touched the hilt of his hidden dagger.

I bet you would... Muttering under his breath Tamahome ignored the prickling upon his neck and calmly approached the man with a doleful expression on his face - what he was truly thinking would remain a mystery but he was by no means intending to look for something that was probably virtually unrecognisable by now thanks to the delicacy of such jewels.

"So, what's she like?" He enquired conversational as he made a show of turning his gaze to his slipper feet and below to the ground beneath them, even then all he could see was dust...

Kouji wondered whether he should offer to carry her or not, she was looking quite poorly after all. "Hey...um...do you want a hand?" he finally queried. "Genrou would so laugh at me right now," he muttered to himself. "Wonder where he is right now? He's going to be so pissed off I mean it's not like he can live without me, I'm the smarter one." He walked slowly, watching Yui carefully as he awaited her reply.

Lol eternal night indeed...when's Genrou getting spanked...I mean whipped in a terrible non-kinky way?

One of the adult couples began talking quietly between eachother while another spoke up in answer to her question. The kids entertained themselves mildly while waiting...hoping that they could still weasel their way out to play again.

"Well...I do not know too much about foreign places...But I bet there are scholars who would know about any place in the world. There are surely some places where they study...probably in or around the palace."

As he finished, the couple finished their discussion, the wife speaking up and the husband giving a resigned sigh.

"Well...considering that none of us know of the place you are from...the best we can do is offer to let you stay here and head out tomorrow morning. If you need somewhere to stay...you can come to our hut tonight."

Miaka's eyes turned into giant orbs of sparkles. "Hontou ni [Really]?!" she cried, clasping her hands under her chin. "You'd really let me stay with you, even though we've only just met and come to think of it I don't even know any of your names?"

The Tokyo girl frowned, remembering her family back home and Yui, who was probably still sleeping in her room. She might be a little puzzled when she found Miaka's bag in her kitchen, and no Miaka with it. She bit her lip, thinking hard. "But... I really need to get home as soon as I can. I don't know if I can wait a whole night. People will really start to get worried." She glanced up at the adults again. "How far is it to this palace you were talking about? Maybe I could hitch a ride and get there sometime tonight."

Just as she said the words, however, some rapped on the door to the house. "Oh! Looks like you have visitors," she remarked.

Chichiri knocked on the door again slightly louder this time. He wasn't exactly impatient by nature but night had already crept up on them and the monk was starting to suspect that they would not be able to return to the capital immediately after all.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to spend the night somewhere nearby no da.

He stifled a yawn and immediately realized just how tired he felt. A sloppy implosion spell, a symbolic preception, a long distance teleportation, and transformation illusion all in one day followed by a long horse ride, really drained a person.

Maybe I should have saved my energy instead of wasting it on that implosion spell no da.

"Never could get the white smoke to work na no da," he sighed to himself.

The thug had not been expecting that question, but as his back was turend, as if looking, he recovered without giving it away and quickly began describing..."her"...all the time talking about his trusty dagger that he was about to turn and use on this "dim-wit" behind him.

"She is everything I ever need...slender, just the right curves...such a beauty...and she takes care of me like no one else."

In his mind...he was counting down... 'Ten...Nine...Eight...Seven...'

He then knelt down as if he might have found something and pulled the dagger into position.

'Three...two...one...'

"In fact...I think I should introduce you to her..."

He turned and brandished his dagger while the other members of his gang started to emerge from there places to be ready to jump him.

"Whatever you think is best" Came the reply as one of the husbands made his way to the door.

"We would not want to keep you against your will." The kids were giving groans of dissent at the thought of their "new friend" leaving...but also because they were being ushered off to get to bed.

The husband opened the door, not sure what to expect. "So many guests this evening...May I help you?"

Chiriko took out a pen and a bottle of ink.
"In the scroll about the legend, it said the priestess and her warriors were all connected."

"Maybe if i concentrate hard enough..maybe i could sense another Suzaku.." Thought Chiriko.

Hello?!?

"Hmm.. Maybe i'm not reading it right." Thought Chiriko as he sighed.

Yui continued to shiver under Kouji's watch and blankly stared up at him at his question, slightly quirking her brow as the man once again began talking to himself. She was begining to get curious about this Genrou guy Kouji kept mentioning. "Ah...that would be nice but I think I've bothered you too much for tonight. Besides, I'll just get you wet too and you're not even wearing a shirt no more." Yui softly reasoned, giving the bandit a small weak smile. "Goodnight." Yui lastly added in before she turned around and forced herself to walk, though everytime she did, she became a bit dizzier, completely losing her balance on the third step. Oh she definately probably resembled some drunk who had a bit too much too drink.

((SORRY SORRY SORRY!!! I'm still suicidally busy, but let me get a post in for the sake of helping the story along))

Tomo flinched a little as his face was spat in. He raised his fingers to the spittle on his cheek. He drug his fingers down the cheek, smearing his pristine make up, and ran them across his tongue, all the while keeping his eyes narrowed maliciously in contact with the bandit.

"If you have any intelligence, you will rest tonight. You can never know what tortures tomorrow may bring."

He turned away and entered the room across from what would the bandit's. Thankfully, the room had a wash basin and towel waiting for him. He immediately began washing his face. It face felt dirty with that unworthy man's spit on it. Still, he was amused, perhaps even intrigued by this little diversion.

After washing up, he stepped back out of his room and tracked down some guards to stand post outside the bandit's room. There was some confusion of course; the guards had never seen the seishi without his customary painted face, but thankfully recognized his voice before Tomo could become angry.

"No one but the Shogun or myself comes in or out that door, understood? And listen for any unusual sounds as well," he ordered the guards, "If he makes any trouble, wake me. If it is a lot of trouble, wake the Shogun as well." On stage, he usually played characters with military and political power. In his plays, he was always ordering people around. Somehow, it did not feel any different to do so in real life. The little thrill of power was quashed by his inability to find it significant.

Tomo left the guards to their duties, and returned to his room. After all the day had brought, he was quite tired. 24 hours ago he was thinking about what play they should perform in the Kutou capital city, now he was thinking about what kind of performance he would be putting on in Konan, and whether or not he should have gone back to the caravan and picked up some spare paints for his lovely face, and where the bandit came into play. His mind fell back onto the topic of getting information from their charge. He could do it tonight. He had a pleasant idea in mind. However, his energy was already somewhat depleted and there was no sense in launching into some elaborate scheme this late. He would have even more interesting opportunities tomorrow, and he was certain to have more fun when he was less irritable. Yes, it was best to wait.

Removing the elaborate head piece, Tomo let his hair down. He stripped down to his bottom-most layer of clothing, a robe-like shirt and thin, loosefitting pants. He lay down in bed. Sometimes, while he was traveling with the caravan, they were given beds. Usually though, he slept on a futon rolled out in his tent. He knew many people were much worse off; once upon a time, he was one of those people. He rolled over in bed and shut his amber eyes, as if to shut out thoughts of that time. Sighing heavily, he wondered if the bandit would give him the opportunity to sleep, or if trouble would indeed be stirred.
