"Of course not, I have more trouble with everyone else than I do with you. Besides, even when you are you make up for it. Saving my life would be one good example. Cooking would be another. " Salazar said trying to cheer up a bit. "The only reason I wanted you to leave is that I didn't want you to get hurt. But that was a bad idea. So I think you should stay here, but its your choice of course." ((Oy, off for the night. Leaving for 5 days tomarrow. peace))

Hikaru pondered on his words for a moment and then turned over to face him once again. She simply watched him with calm eyes as she layed on her side. She had never had a real friend before besides the ones she had as a little kid, so she was a bit lost on the understanding of friendship. She wondered if that was what this was. Could she have found someone that would care for her despite her strange ways?
Her memory sent flashes of her childhood through her mind. As a little girl she didn't know she was any different from the other children, so she would use her abilities without holding back. She recalled many instances that the other children would shun her and leave her out of their games. She did have one friend however: it was a little boy. When she now thought of friendship, she pictured this boy's smiling face in her mind. He was her only close friend and thinking of him almost brought tears to her eyes. He too had one day begun to shun her along with the other children because he would have been teased as well if he didn't join them. She remembered that day clearly. It was spring and the flowers were in full bloom. It was warm outside and the day only showed signs of pure bliss; however, this day was only filled with darkness for Hikaru. Even her own best friend had joined the circle of children dancing around her, calling her names and throwing rocks at her. "Freak! Monster! Witch!" the voices of those children were forever engraved in her memory.
Hikaru suddenly awoke from her trace as she realized that she had been staring at Salazar for a few minutes. He probably thought she was some sort of freak already. She smiled lightly at this. "You mean you want to be friends with the freak?" she said in a light tone. Hikaru knew she was weird and possibly a freak, but she also knew she shouldn't be ashamed of that fact. It was what made her well.....her.

Salazar smiled back at her and said "Gladly." He walked over to where she was and sat down on the bed again. "You don't mind being friends with a werewolf?"

Hikaru smiled genuinely at him with life filled eyes. "Not at all." she answered. With this said she sat up and joined him so that they were side by side. She sat still for a moment and then leaned against him so her head rested on his shoulder. "Maybe two wrongs make a right?" she joked.

"It was no problem. I hadn't cooked for anyone else than myself in ages so it was kinda fun." she chimed. "I've always been pretty good at cooking. Do I still got it?" she laughed lightly while lifting her head.

After chatting for a while, Salazar brought up the subject of him having to leave for a few days. Hikaru was taken by surprise by this, but he said it was an urgent matter, so she nodded in understanding. He asked Hikaru if she would stay and care for the guests while he away. She thought about his question for a moment. "Are you sure?" she asked while rubbing the back of her head. "I think your more than capable." he smiled. Hikaru let out a giggle. "Sure. I don't mind. It's not like I have anything else to do. Just come back soon, ok?" she chimed. Salazar nodded to this. ~-----------------~ A few hours had passed and Salazar had left already. Hikaru walked through the hallway of the manor while casually humming to herself. She had borrowed the spare bathroom and had taken a long bath to relax. She indeed felt refreshed now as she pranced down the hallway with her wet locks bouncing behind her. She decided to leave her hair down to air dry for a while. Hikaru walked into the living area and sat down, looking out the nearby window. She let out a sigh and slumped down in the armchair. "Well....what now?" she asked herself. Her eyes wandered to the large bookshelf that stood against the wall. She turned her head slightly in order to read the book spines and noticed one of them was a photo album. Hikaru smirked to herself. She got up to grab the large book from the shelve and plopped back into the armchair. The spine of the book creaked slightly as she opened it, signifying her that it was very old and she needed to be careful with it. Even the pages were yellowed with age. Hikaru peered at the small photos on the pages. Of course she wouldn't know any of the people in them, but considering the type of pictures these were, she assumed they were probably went back to the 1700s. She noticed as she carefully turned the pages, that the photos seemed to lessening in age. Maybe she would find some pictures of Salazar toward the end of it.

Stella snapped out of her daze to find Hikaru and Salazar both gone from the room. She walked around and found Hikaru in the living area. "You feeling better?" she asked.

Hikaru's head popped up to look at Stella. "Oh hey. Yeah I feel a lot better actually. Sorry if I was acting a little weird." she answered while nervously pushing her hair still wet hair behind her ear.

"Your scarf?" Hikaru questioned curiously. "Maybe you left it ourside?" Hikaru then turned her head immediately toward the front door. She sensed Marcus's aura standing outside. She didn't particularly want him there and she knew Salazar might not have liked it either, but she couldn't force herself to be rude to him like that. "Looks like Marcus is back." she mentioned to Stella seconds before a knock came from the front door. Hikaru bounced out of the armchair and set the photo album gently on the seat. She quickly headed toward the door and the hinges creaked loudly as she opened it. "Marcus..." she said simply while holding up her mental guard.

Stella stood there frozen in near shock. How did she know even before the knock? was only one of the questions running through her mind. She shrugged the shock off. "Perhaps I did." replied to Hikaru and walked over to the door and stood behind her. "Hello Marcus."

Hikaru eyed Marcus for a minute and turned around to walk back into the living area. She would let him in for now, but she had a feeling Salazar would be displeased if he knew. "You can stay for the night but please leave after that." she mentioned while taking back her perch in the arm chair. She wore a blank face at the moment. When trying to control her ability she found it hard to show her own emotions. Since Marcus had just recently been turned, his aura tended to spike easily with his emotions and could surprise her at any time. During their dinner a few nights before, his sudden burst of anger had even caused Hikaru to faint.
Hikaru let out a small sigh and picked up the photo album again. She flipped through the pages slowly and tried to relax herself a bit. Though, as she scanned the pictures, her interest was peeked. She assumed these were his ancestors before and now she had pretty much confirmed it. Simply looking at the stern and harsh faces of his family members, she could tell there was a strong wolf bloodline amiss. She paused for a moment and then quickly flipped toward the back of the book. She searched the last few pages until she found what she was looking for. It was a large family portrait. A beautiful woman with long chocolate brown hair sat in a large decorative armchair. The front of her hair draped over her shoulders and was in large ringlets. Hikaru could tell she was probably a rather gentle person just by the expression on her soft face. Her eyes then moved to look at the man standing beside the woman. He was a tall and stern looking man. Of course, Hikaru couldn't see the same type of personality from this man. Finally her eyes met the form of a small boy who was standing next to, who she assumed, was his two parents. Staring at the boy for a minute she realized who it was. It was Salazar. She could tell by the look on his face, which was one he still used a lot she noticed. Hikaru couldn't help but smiled slightly at this thought.
She touched the picture gently with her finger tips and pondered to herself. Salazar had lost his family just as she had. Even though technically her family was alive she knew there was a very slim chance of ever seeing them again. She considered that "losing" them in a way. She hadn't been able to say anything to Salazar about the subject really, but there was a reason she wanted him to be able to speak with Emilian. She saw this situation as a second chance for Salazar. She had often wished for such a chance for herself. It was a chance to have a family again. Emilian may not be the ideal brother, but it was still worth seeking in Hikaru's mind.

Salazar stood at the door to the manor. He saw that Michael was perched up on the top of the door. The raven cawed a couple times and then landed on Salazar's shoulder. "Missed you too boy." He said as he walked in. He came over to Hikaru and tryed to smile. "Checking out the family history eh?"
