actually, you can know. If I'm correct, venomous snakes have glads where the venom is made, which are stored near the base of the head. This creates a somewhat triangle shaped head as opposed to a more rounded head.

I want to get a ball python. I've got a ten gallon aquarium that I'm going to tranformate into a terranium before I migrate off to college. I'm going to leave him at my boyfriend's new house since I can't have one in the dorms and dad has decreed No Snakes In The House, Goddammit Are You Insane.

But when I went to look at the ones in petco, it was terrible. D: They had three or four in one little tank, and they were all bunched up together in a heap for comfort I think.. and when I went to hold one, he freaked and tied himself up in a knot on my hand, peering out of his coils at me. D: It was cute, in a sad, sad way. So I'm thinking I should get two, so they can keep each other company or something. What say you, is that a good idea or not?

I have a picture I took somewhere of the snakey knot..
Bad bad BAD idea. Snakes don't have emotions like that, and putting two in a cage together isn't a good idea. They willstress each other out, out pick on each other. Its not a good idea, AT ALL. also, a ten gallon tank isn't a good idea, I reccoment getting the biggest cage you can for it first. Thats just the best idea, in my opinion. When they curl up into a ball, its fine, they're not always just scared, they're BALL pythons, so they curl up into a ball. I wouldn't leave him with your boyfriend, but rather wait to get a ball. Balls live for up to 40 years, and to understand it its whole life, you'd want to get it when its young. Also, i advse buying a baby from reptileauctions.com, where i got both Beeper and Anon. Reaserch alot, and really think this threw, and if you end up getting one, and don't want it, please please PLEASE contact me, i'm always willing to take more balls. I just worry people will buy them and not think, or will either hate or wont want to keep them, or worse, ifthey are bitten.
Just remember, its not IF you get bitten. its WHEN. smile if you want any information about them, PM me.
Hrm, thank you for the info. I will research more thoroughly next time.. but I'm heartset on getting one. My friend has one, you see, and I love her to pieces... D: Even if she does like to nibble, it's worth it to stare into those shiny python eyes and watch those beautiful scales.. Oh, they're so gorgeous and awesome.

If you could, could you link me to some sites with some good info? Or give me a few titles of some good books to keep an eye out for?

My sister's cardiologist sent her a letter today. With a load of DNA sequencing..... and yes this is VERY relavent to her condition. In her DNA she is 'missing' a certain piece, the genes are effectively not there, and this is what causes her heart condition. What's worse is that she has no traces of it at all, which means she has her condition at 100%, and it can still get worse (There is one person I know of where they are bound to bed). But this is a step towards a better control or even a cure. Let's hope her cardiologist, with the other leading researchers in other countries (Including UK, USA, Russia and more) can find one.

And when I heard the whistle I knew I had been chosen...

I am very happy right now <3 I FINALLY got internet in my apartment today <3 had to pay $90.44 for it. (Cable and high-speed internet)....and I'm probably gonna hav eot pay the 50-some every month for it too, since my roomate is turning out to be really ******** unreliable. She went to her aunt's last night, and said she'd come home today to be here with me when the cable guys come, but lo and behold, here she ISN'T here.

Luckily I already have 500 in the bank so it wasn't a problem, and hopefully I'm getting a job soon, so whatever...

but god, I'm getting tired of my roomate. All she does is lay around sleeping or talking on her cell phone or txting on it. Other then that, she maybe every once in a while goes out and does something (and it's out of the blue and without any warning, even though I'm always telling ehr when I'm going somewhere)

I'm on eof hte least active people you'll ever meet...but she makes me look like super-over active >.<

Okay, done ranting. She's annoying, but I don't quite hate her yet, hopefully I never will. Luckily it's only 50 a month, so it shouldnt' hurt me that much since I don't have to pay rent or utilities or any of that (they are covered in my tuition.)

Why do we dope people up and sometimes even lock them away for odd and counterproductive behavior, when what they really need is to be taught how to think their way out of problems rather than letting the voices and delusions tell 'em what's what?

Because people don't actually care if they get better or not, they just want them out of the way. Once you go insane, to a good percent of people you aren't a human being anymore. Same with retarded people, and sometimes even crippled people like amputees...

My parents never take what I do on the computer seriously; because I am diagnosed with ADD they think I spend my free time sitting around and farting, looking at innappropriate websites and occasionally picking my nose. neutral They believe I'm not mature enough to take anything seriously, and are constantly fighting with me to get me to "do something worthwhile, you lazy bum". Drives me nuts.

sweatdrop Well Im finally back from that seemingly long vacation. It was really bad honestly, barely ever left our cabin. But at least it gave me some time to think. Im sorry about all that mating-ness I always go through, its just whenever someone gets a mate, I tend to want that person a lot, I havent any idea why either. But now I can relax and I dont care about mates or anything, so I shall go back to being the original crossdressing husky you all had loved....I hope >>;

So.. I feel better today. My brother came home from work [we worked for the same company] and tells me that the PIC Chris is just PISSED that I was fired. He's livid. Absolutely ******** livid with Rob and Jenny that they fired me. Rob's back pedalling. He can't hire me, but will I come back in six months and reapply, please?

Jenny.. may be canned soon. She fired the other two new girls who I had been working with, Rosanna [who I wanted fired] and Kim. Everyone's looking at her now and saying she has training issues and that maybe it ISN'T the new employees fault after all. I mean, she fired us all on our sixtieth day. Something's fishy. So now.. once again, they're desperate for help in the deli. They just fired all the new employees they had.

God.

I'm laughing so hard at them.

Enjoy your dessert Jenny. You're getting fired..!

Are they vemonous? sweatdrop
Pythons aren't venomus, neither are boas. I'll never understand how somone cant see the diffrence between a venomus snake and a nonvenomus snake. I see them both, and I know whats what with a glance. Also, I can't understand ignorance, and fear, or snakes. I've been bitten by a majove rattle snake, but I still own a snake, and I harbor no ill emotions twords snakes.

You are, for the most part. Some venomus snakes, you can't really tell from the head.

One place to go is ReptileRooms.com, for questions. I love that place. Theres a million places, like kingsnake.com and other places. You can find all sorts of web information. Reccomended reading is really, anything for ball pythons. my favorite book is The Complete Ball Python. I simply reccomend any books, incuding 101 secrets your snake wants you to know. Really, consider it, its a big commitment. Also, I reccomend getting a baby from a breeder. NEVER petstores, they just don't treat they're snakes well. Its proven fact, that they live shorter lives. Also, if you have two of them in one cage, they live much shorter, unhappier lives. I'm not trying to say 'no, dont get them.' im just trying to advice you in the best way.

Today is the grand reopening of my favorite store, Petco, so i'm off to do that. Time to buy bettas and spoil my ferret.

I seem to attract two kinds of mail.

Religious and military.

Just today, I recieved a small book entitled National Sunday Law. I did not pay for it, it merely arrived on it's own and decided to make my day just a little worse. It's all about how the world has fallen to the powers of Satan and that the revelations in the Bible will come true/are coming to pass. It basically says that those of us that don't believe in God will be struck down and plagued for eternity because if you don't believe in God, then you're automatically a devil worshipper. I wanted to find the ******** that sent me this and shove it up their collective a**. How DARE they send me such trash? How DARE they send me a book that is nothing but LIES? I tell you the truth, organized religion is the most evil thing to ever be created on this world. All religions, (save for those who preach simplicity and peace towards all things, such as paganism and Taoism) are corrupt. They say there is a God and if you do not worship him you will go to hell. Fine. I can accept that. After living in this world, hell should be a piece of cake.

I'm sickened by this. Goddamned Christian fundementalists.......I wish something horrible befell the lot of them. stressed

Fog you need to lighten up. It's just some spam mail and it sounds like funny spam mail at that. To tell you the truth, you sound scared to me. Your reacting to them just how some religious people react to gays. All angry and condeming the other. That kind of blind rage is usually brought on by someone who is afraid. Perhaps you are more worried about your soul than you wish to admit.

As for a book being full of lies, welcome to the wonderful world of writting. That's all books are, lies. They are lies painted with just the right amount of truth so that they seem true. Then again, sometimes the truth becomes most clear when it is told in a swirl of lies.

As a writer I must commend the person who wrote the bible. It's one very popular and influencal fiction book. Wouldn't mind writting something that popular one day. XD

Finally, just learn to laugh at it. Laughter really can be the best defence. You'll also find that you will get far more power out of laughing at those you disagree with then falling into a red cheeked rage. I know when we get the preachers at my college it makes for a great show. Often I'll get a bagel and sit down at one of the benches as they try to convince all the people huddled around and walking by that they are doomed to the pits of hell if they don't believe in them. It's so entertaining even more so when those of opposing beliefs start up a debate with them. God the world would be boring if everyone believed the same thing.

I am mad though. That they would spread this religious propaganda about so shamelessly.....

I do find it funny somewhat, seeing as how prophecies are all fake anyway. The soothsayer often changes his words more than once to give off the effect that he actually knows the future. The future is unknowable, and if such a day comes that God comes for me, I certainly won't be ready for it....

I wish I didn't believe in God. But I can't help it.....I am weak and my resolve to be an agnostic is weakening in such a place as this, where religion is a part of life, where people pray to God with the sad expectation that He will hear them, when in fact He will not.

Given any choice in the matter, my soul will stay on this earth, neither bound to heaven nor hell, should those places exsist.

I'll get over it.....
