Unless you want to play a game, with, say friends. Then the Gamecube is your friend, because it's not a $300 PC that mostly runs games you could have played on your PC instead (loathesome Xbox, we hateses it!), and it's not a two controller PS2 which seems to have been designed with the assumption that any person with a PS2 only has, at most, one friend.

There's actually a way to have four paddles hooked up to a ps2, but I figured out there's no games for it except like... three.... sad Xbox is awesome except for the fact that every game for it sucks, except for the Dead or Alive series.

As for XBox... I don't like it because, as yuri said, the games are pretty much all crap... at least with GameCube and PS2 they make the games on BOTH systems... most of the time anyway!

Edit: I admit I'm running windows... I enjoy cursing it though... it gives me a sense of adventure... I dunno why... lol

Meh, I don't have anything against Microsoft, really, other than their draconian business practices. I just hate the X-Box. It was really sad watching console gamers get all excited about Halo... I guess that's what happens when you have a group of people who were previously convinced that Goldeneye was the greatest FPS ever... And even now that it's been out for a while, I can still only think of maybe, at best, 4 Xbox only titles I want.
Personally, I think when the Xbox came out, people should've used that $300 to just buy 6 or so copies of Tribes 2, give any excess copies to their foolish FPS playing friends who had failed to get the game earlier, and then they could play a real multiplayer FPS.
And Yuri, was that from your softcore lesbian porn collection, or what?

Sabi-shii I've heard that they're really good from some ppl and that they're really bad from others... so I'd prolly just go for a ps2... no one has complained about that to me... yet... DON'T RUIN MY PS2 BUYING!!! Pwease... sweatdrop Well, at the time (say fall of 2002) I had a choice between getting a PS2 and no games or a gamecube and two games. So, out of pure boredom, I got the cube. One thing I should mention to people is that PS2 has been out for almost 4 years I think. As far as game systems go, 5 years is usually their max life span for new game support. Just a FYI wink EDIT: Actually, I could've gotten an Xbox too, but still the same price thing. As of now, there's only about 3 Xbox games that I'm interested in and 2 aren't even out yet (Halo 2 and Fable). I just think people who give Xbox too much praise are generic gamers, who rave about 1 or 2 specific games and that's all they know or want to know (sybrid pointed out the great example of Goldeneye). Xbox tries really hard just to feed the public with soulless but money-raking games. Sure, these games are good, but to only have these types of games, like violence and sports games all the time seems so dry to me. And plus Xbox live costs money. Quite a bit of it too. sad
