She glared, leaning against a tree trunk. "How could I not? And, shouldn't you be dead? It wouldn't be that hard to do it again." she said coldly, resting her hands on the blades at her hips. "It's much easier to kill a man than a giant crow, I've had more practice fighting than you have, or he has." she pointed out, letting a faint smile form on her lips. If you kill him, the spirit will leave. Or, if you use me, then I might be able to absorb the spirit and gain its powers and abilities. the dagger said in her mind. And let it have me? No. Besides, I don't want him recognizing you yet. And, don't you dare glow and give us away. The only way he'll find out from me at the moment is if he sees my brand, and I can't picture him looking while I don't have a shirt on. If you say so, my Mistress. it agreed resignedly before falling silent again, glowing faintly beneath the folds of her cloak to spite her.
Zyriaut slipped into Syanthe's mind, whispering quietly so that the man couldn't hear. He's posessed, probably by the thing we've been tracking. And, I think the girl knows what she's doing, but I don't trust her. Don't let her know what we can do, unless we have to use our powers. she gave no indincation that she'd spoken to her, watching the two before her warily.

Syanthe realeased Zyriaut and gave Saro and her a knowing glance, "Well, I'll be right back," she said aloud letting an edge of nervousness creep into her voice. With that she walked past some trees and then sat behind one she undressed and changed her clothes into a small pellet through a small spell and then swallowed it. After swallowing it she turned into humming bird. With that she flew back to a branch and began to sing a common folk song tune on a branch above Zyriaut to let her know that it was her. Then suddenly she changed her tune into a twitter of a church hymn to see how the monster would react.
The creature in Father Michael's body twitched in protest, and then regained control of the body. "What a rude girl, leaving so suddenly. As for you, if you do not know, Father Michael has a few powers himself." After saying this the trees began to crackle as the pendant around Father Michael began to crack. Since Ako's was broken the powers in his were lessened. A small tendril of blood shimmered down the priest's temple. "You do know that this man's life is in my hands, don't you?"

"Why do I care?" she asked, shrugging. "But do realize, if you kill him, you'll be without a body. And I doubt either of the other two would have a mind weak enough for you to take over." she pointed out. "How far would you have to go, simply to be able to take on a form? There nearest town is at least a day away, and I doubt you would be able to last that long without being blown of course by a wind." she taunted, walking closer.
Zyriaut edged farther away from them, positioning herself to where the fire was between her and the man. She didn't react to the hummingbird, but recognized it as Syanthe.

Syanthe dropped down from the tree, she was tired but took enough energy to turn into a human again, she hugged Father Michael as she cast a healing spell. It pulsated through him, and she knew that no evil spirit could withstand the powers of the spell. She did not mind that she was bare because she only wanted to protect her younger sister from the creature. The scars all along her stomach were visible and glowed as she let the magic course through the man. The creature let out a screech and was then gone; Father Michael's head fell limply against Syanthe. Syanthe swooned, tiredly before dropping foreward. She coughed up the pellet that immediatly changed into a pile of dry clothing before she passed out.

Zyriaut moved foreward, then pulled a blanket over Syanthe. She knew from experiance that it was nearly impossible to dress her sister while she was unconsious, so she resorted to covering her up until she woke.
Saro darted foreward and caught him as he fell, then lowered him to the ground. "It's not gone. It'll be back." she said quietly, shaking her head as if to clear her mind and forced herself to return to the personality she normally showed, anoyed at how easily she had returned to being a cold killer, having thought she had changed somewhat.

The man next to Ako said, "Innis, I found the-" he cut off when he realized that it wasn't who he was looking for. "Excuse me, I mistook you for someone else." He stood up and walked back towards the door. Ako shook her head and continued to drink. When she was finished she went outside to get a breath of air. She went out the door and decided not to linger on the main road, the alcohol taking affect. On her way back to the Inn she walked into the wrong door and a man grabbed her arm and dragged her into a side alley way. "I'll teach you to disrupt my business." (Ako had walked into a drug-dealing lodge.) Ako was weary with the alcohol and hit him in a futile attempt, Karik's potion still in affect also. An hour later Ako was laying in the alley crying. She was behind a crate and in a corner weeping when the man from earlier in the inn found her.
On the way back to the inn Skeith hear whimpering."Innis, do you hear that?" Skeith said, hearing the soft weeping. Innis nodded, her eyes tired. "I think it's coming from over here." Skeith said, running into the alley where Ako was. Skeith found her, her face bloodied and her clothing torn by a knife. She was curled up in a little ball, her leggings hanging loosely around her hips. Just like Father Michael had done when he had found Ako, Skeith grabbed Ako up in his arms and whispered, "It's alright I've got you." Innis stood in shock at the young lady that looked about her age. Skeith looked up, it had started to rain, "Innis, try to get some help." Skeith said his voice weak.
Innis nodded and ran back to the inn. She ran to the bartender and told her of the girl in the alley. The bartender dropped her tray, "I swear if that butcher touched another girl I'm going to strangle him." Innis led the lady back to the alley and showed her the girl. The bartender was the first to notice the butcher in the shadows with a knife in his throat. Innis went next to Ako and took her from Skeith while he explained the occurance to the bartender. Innis closed her eyes as she let performed her healing on Ako.

Syanthe woke up, her lips parched. The blanket around her was warm and she pulled it around her and then saw her clothes. Embarrased she pulled the blanket further around her and tiptoed to her clothes. She skipped behind a tree and started to change when she saw her scars. They had started to bleed again, but she was never able to heal herself. "Zyriaut!" She called back, rolling the shirt above her stomach.

She wordlessly went to her, the fire dropping from the two-foot high flames to a more normal height as she left. Saro had fallen asleep sometime during the last hour, and the man still hadn't woken. She saw the scars, and fished around in a bag for a salve and a bandage. "Here..." she said quietly, rubbing some of the cream on the scars and wrapping the cloth around Syanthe's torso, tieing it and ripping it above the knot, rolling what was left of the cloth up. "That should help, is it too tight?" she asked, looking up to Syanthe's eyes.
Karik woke up, then darted through the shadows to Ako's room, muttering darkly when he saw she wasn't there. He retreated back to his own room, not suprised to see Akarni looking out the window. "Captain?" he asked cautiously, walking over to him. Akarni spun around and pinned Karik against the wall, his hand clamped over there werewolf's throat. "What part of 'keep the girl safe at all costs' don't you understand? I want her in one piece, not lieing dead in an alley when you failed to notice that she was getting attacked." He said coldly, his anger barely held in check. "I thought she was asleep, and I never noticed her leaving." Karik responded, hiding the fact that he was asleep and couldn't have noticed. "I don't want excusses. Just keep the girl safe. When Saro gets here with the priest, give her the bag, as I told you before, and then somehow get them to Mysirac. I want her back on the ship, and you'll bring her to me. If you can get whoever she's traveling with to come, good for you. I should be able to make a small fortune on them as slaves, or perhaps just let the crew kill them. It's been too long since they last had a helpless victim." he said, smiling cruely. He let go of Karik and dissapeared into the shadows, leaving Karik to massage his neck where he'd been held in the vice-like grip.

Sirako "Yes, that good. Thank you Zyriaut." Syanthe pulled her shirt down over her stomache and went back the camp. "We should get moving again," she announced.Ako suddenly snapped back awake hurting her back as she struggled to get up. She groaned as she fell back against Skeith. "Whoa there, you're pretty hurt. That guy beat you up pretty bad, but I guess you could handle it." He allowed his eyes a cursory glance at the man, dead on the street.

"Welcome." she said as she sat down beside the fire again, having nothing to pack up. She'd help the other two if they needed it, once they woke up.
Saro snapped awake from her position against a tree, blinking and shaking her head as if to clear it. She glanced through the leaves, it was still dark, but close to dawn. "Are you coming with us, or do you consider it the other way around?" she asked the two, hiding a smirk.

Sirako "Well, if you need company, we'll gladly come." Syanthe decided for her and Zyriaut. She looked up at Zyriaut, a faint smile in her eyes. "Where's your room?" Skeith asked starting to pick her when he saw her ankle bent in a funny position. Ako told him where it was in the inn. "I'll take you there. Innis!" Skeith said. Innis came to him and he ordered her to hold the doors for him. Innis went to the door, and gladly held it open for her master. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" She asked.

"We'd appreciate it. Where are you headed?" she asked, walking over to Father Michael and kneeling beside him, gently shaking his shoulder to wake him.
Zyriaut hid a smile, giving a slight nod to Syanthe to show her agreement. "We were following whatever possessed him earlier. But, if it is destroyed, we have no reason to stay here." she explained, turning to Saro.

Sirako "We aren't headed anywhere in particular, really." Syanthe said, she turned to Zyriaut, "I think it would be nice to have something to do."Father Michael opened his eyes and sat up, his back still a bit sore. "Huh, where are we going?" He blinked as if in a daze and rubbed is eyes wearily.

"To the city to find Ako. And don't even consider running off to find her without us." she said, knowing he'd probably try it at one point.
"It would. If you don't consider running after you something to do." she said, managing to keep a straight face as she teased her.

Sirako Father Michael merely nodded wearily before he stood up. "I'm going to go wash up at a spring I saw." He obvioulsy had no clue what he was doing.Syanthe stood up and steadied him by grabbing his arm. "Hold on, you're in no shape to be going anywhere, if you need water I'll get you some."
