Westly, with only one 'e', smiled politely, but said nothing more. His 'Superhuman Charisma' often translated to 'dominate the conversation', and it seemed like it would be a courtesy to let others take a turn at it.
On second thought...
"If I might be so bold, what is your specialty? Escort missions, sure, but how do you go about doing it? Taijutsu? Earth Techniques? Something more exotic?"

Westly looked expectantly at Shiyu for a response.
It wasn't that he was uninterested in Anko's fighting style; he simply had no reason to suspect that he didn't already know everything about it. The Ketushai bloodline limit was a powerful one, and Westly had yet to meet a single member of that clan that didn't count it as their nigh-exclusive specialty.

((beautifully placed spelling correction >_<))
Shiyu nodded at Westly. "Nothing fancy. Mostly focused on using a large nodachi in combat, and supplemented it with some powerful earth jutsu, and a little water here and there. Used my elements for detection jutsu as well. Never really learned anything that one would call 'exotic', but I was good enough at what I did to deal with a lot of the trickier ninja out there. I've handled a couple strong bloodline abilities in my time," he explained. There was a bit of pride in his voice as he spoke.

(( "Westley" is the correct spelling of the character from The Princess Bride. It's also almost universally already taken in any given community or MMO, so I tend to use the deliberate misspelling "Westly" as my signature of sorts. ))
Westly whistled. "If you can wield a nodachi, you don't need anything exotic. You probably don't even need to aim. I don't believe I've ever seen someone able to wield one before. I suppose if they had the inclination, Forza or Manndar might have the necessary arm strength. You remember Forza and Manndar, right? They were raised to Jounin in the same tournament as Aona?"
He paused. "It's not really any of my business, but while we're on the subject.... I'm a little concerned about Aona's feelings towards those two. She seems to bear them some enmity, and I don't know why. It worries me."

Anko stops nugding Soul as she noticed that He wasn't going to talk. She looked over and began to quiet listen to random noises around the house, letting her mind drift.

*Soul had been sleeping with his eyes open the whole time thier little conversations went on and on and on. Not to be impolite, but what they said did not really matter to him. And how he went to sleep with his eyes open was beyond him. Suddenly, the nudging woke him up. He blinked several times and yawned* Hmm? Wha...?

Aona heard Westly's latest question quite clearly, and saw it as a very appropriate time to reveal herself, and it wasn't a question her father had an immediate answer to anyways. "I'll make a note of your concern Westly," she said just loud enough for all to hear as she stepped around the corner into the sitting room, "however, I can assure you that I've never had an active conflict with Forza." She intentionally left out mention of Manndar, hoping to leave an obvious hint to avoid the subject at the moment.
---
"And as for your first point, Westly," Shiyu began, smoothly transitioning from where Aona had left off, "I'm sure that Manndar's hammers are, if anything, a bit heavier than the swords I use. Forza could certainly manage them as well, and Chaos' vines give him almost superhuman strength if he exerts himself. And as far as aiming goes, I'd like you to imagine being forced to use bricks instead of shuriken against ninja who can move faster than you."

"Mn," said Westly, nodding. The lack of animosity towards Forza is certainly good to know, but still.... This doesn't tell me nearly enough, he thought. What the hell happened to make her hate Manndar? I didn't even think it was possible, and yet somehow, she managed...."I have the report you requested," he said. "You won't like it..." He handed her a folded piece of paper. When it seemed to draw curious eyes, Westly cleared his throat. "Eyes only," he said, nodding towards, well, not the piece of paper. Official-Looking Report While on a routine training sortie, Team Aona was assaulted by an unknown assassin. The attack was quick. Midori was killed instantaneously, and Aona severely injured herself trying to save Mara and me. Aona, perhaps for the first time in her life, acted her age; she took one look at Midori and had a complete breakdown. Her lack of command experience was irrelevant and should not be held against her; even in a proper state of mind, she couldn't have done much at that point with so many broken bones. Since Aona did not specify a chain of command, I assumed command as de facto Lieutenant. I assigned Mara to guard the wounded while I attempted to stall or distract our assailant. The enemy was a single Earth-nin of significant ability, and I did not recognize him; most likely a Jounin or ANBU if he was sent to assassinate Aona. He referred to her as "Kendo-chan", which may imply prior acquaintance. Nevertheless, I was at a significant disadvantage against such an opponent. To defeat an opponent so far beyond my abilities was highly unlikely, so I called for reinforcements and stalled the enemy until they arrived. Given our distance from the village proper, ANBU would have taken too long to arrive, so I called Kei, a Jounin who was leading his own squad on a training sortie nearby. Kei was, to the best of my knowledge, an ANBU candidate, and his prior history with Aona made him uniquely inclined towards defending her and her students. The enemy disengaged quickly once Kei arrived, and escaped. Medical teams and ANBU showed up at this point to help with cleanup. My conclusions and suggestions are as follows: First, an investigation should be mounted into the identity of the unknown ninja, and orders for his capture should be added to the bingo book, that he might be tried for his readily apparent crimes of manslaughter and attempted homicide, first degree. Second, Aona had been a Jounin for only two weeks, and she had been hospitalized for most of that period of time. She was not given appropriate command training befitting her rank before being sent back to active duty, nor was she even given sufficient time for her wounds to heal. On both counts, this was dangerously negligent on the part of her superiors, and an inquiry should be made into who authorized her return to active duty. Third, given my unusual degree of ability and knowledge regarding military tactics and strategy, I believe that it would be wise that I be formally instated as Aona's Lieutenant in a more official capacity, that my own knowledge might augment her own.

Anko looked at Soul. "You was sleeping all that time?" She said to Soul, not bothering to say hello to Aona just yet because of the look of the paper that was handed to her by Westly.

*Soul's eyes shifted left and right, looking for an excuse, but Anko had caught him red-handed. He turned his head and whistled, looking off into the sky, not wanting to answer her question. He'd get into a conversation if he could, but he had no idea what was going on. He'd brought Anko on his back to see Aona, and the next thing he knew, they were all talking amoungst themselves*

Aona calmly set the report aside without a single glance at it's contents. She had other guests, and she could spare a moment to greet them at least. A vague but honest smile crossed her lips as she turned her attention to the Ketushai couple. "Hello," she greeted simply, having not really met Soul in the past, "and thank you."

Aona raised an eyebrow at Soul and Anko. Obviously, this had been the woman's idea, as Soul appeared to be no where near a part of the conversation. "So what does the village at large know about what happened in the forest? What kind of info would the average ninja know about it, or have they covered some of it up?" she asked, honestly curious about what any lower ranking ninja would be told about what happened.
