You know after seeing Dark Knight yesterday I wish they had that director working on it, or hell even Tim Burton. Somebody who can create a good production value that we won't care about very little changes here and there. Though it still should be as accurate as possible with those details, LIKE THE WHIP .-_.-

All his movies are flops and get panned, but he still gets the bucks confused . C.Nolan (the director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) did a pretty cool job with TDK (BB was so-so; it seemed more original than the other Batman movies). T.Burton would make Castlevania bloody (maybe too bloody for me). I'd say get a lesser-known director. I'd prefer almost anyone else (I say that b/c I don't know many other directors) than Anderson.

Movies, even if they're terrible still make alot of money. It's all about the hype. Once a movie opens a weekend and its been hyped as much as it can with either a famous actor taking lead, catchy or otherwise viral marketing, have some sort of mcdonald's or other type of food/toy endorsement, and/or having a famous director/producer attached to the project will be almost guaranteed a successful opening weekend, no matter if the movie sucks or not. Hollywood's become almost a formula now. Have one or more of these and it'll generate the money. So we get generally shitty movies that are unimaginative when it comes to an existing character/story. Batman didn't fail cause it already failed before and we've all caught on to their bullshit since Batman Forever and Batman & Robin rofl Castlevania is a fresh franchise to work with so its a wildcard basically. This can either be an epic fail (DOA), passable "average" videogame movie (The Resident Evil franchise after the first one, heard the first one was epic fail), or epic win if they can somehow miracle their way out of this troubled production (I don't remember any videogame movies being epic win, there must be just can't recall ._.) and Sora, a Bloody Castlevania would be pretty cool. If it can be done (making it very bloody) without making it all what the movie is about it, could help making the movie a bit cooler 3nodding

Yeah, I can't seem to get what you were saying there. Well, blood is a part of Castlevania, but gratuitous, bucket-loads of bloody gore would make me throw-up (I'm surprised I haven't almost thrown up while watching CSI). And, it's mostly distasteful and un-Castlevania.

Dude, the Resident Evil movies get progressively worse. The first one was the only bearable one (because at least they used original...ish characters).
They could potentially do well with or without excessive blood, since it has surprisingly little influence on CV. (most of the earlier ones didn't even have blood) The problem is they probably won't because nobody has any idea what they're doing.
I think Jin was trying to say that if they can make the movie include blood/gore without having it completely focus on just them, it'll be good. Like House of 1000 corpses = gore. There is no other point to the movie. George Romero's Day of the Dead = gore with a purpose. Explicit, but would have been a good movie even without it.

You know kind of like a gimmik like when Blade did it. Remember all the bloody scenes there? Forgot to put a word in that sentence was supposed to say: "If it can be done (making it very bloody) without making it all what the movie is about, it could help 3nodding " Just forgot a few words there sweatdrop Either way I fixed that last post.

You kind of put the comma in the wrong place in the original sweatdrop . Well, we won't be able to see if the story is going to take second-place to bloody action. I was also looking forward to it (possibly a remake of the original game, and maybe 'Simon's Quest' too).

Well, hopefully something will happen soon. Maybe get some photos of costumes, sets, something. The anticipation is eating away at me. I wonder how epic fail it can be or can it actually be good despite the big change of weapon and things here and there surprised

I'm making up a layout for an absolute flop:
A random guy with first name "belmont" but a generic british last name (e.g. elliot) gets some kind of vision in a dream, after that monsters start to appear in his little rumanian village. He visits the other townsfolk and eventually realizes that he's the one who has to stop this, he gets training with some generic old guy and eventually sports a whip, he fights some monsters here and there, and falls in love with a girl. At some point, either dracula or death pops up to kidnap the girl and belmont goes to the castle pretty quickly, fights some of the guys who were bosses in CV 1, then confronts dracula who has turned the girl into a vampire or something, fights death, gets a serum from the lab to cure vampirism (yeah...), has a less-than-epic fight with dracula and cures the girl, who goes unconscious as the castle crumbles, the guy gets out, starts sayin corny one-liners with the rest of the villagers, and at the end the girl comes in through the door and says something to allude to a sequel which will never happen because they decided to end this piece of crap on a f***ing cliffhanger.
*catches breath*
AHEM, sorry if I scared anyone. Just wanna make sure we have some kind of previous reference to an impossibly bad CV movie if they ever DARE do something like that.
(...Uwe Boll script, anyone?)
