"Half-demon," she corrected mockingly, though the smile on her face showed that she was amused. "And my life is now bound to thread, whether it's woven into cloth, stitching cloth together, or holding fletchings in place." Mori made a face at that. A decent seamstress in the best of times and a fumbling amateur at the worst, she was not looking forward to the two monster projects in front of her, on top of getting herself rearmed. However, she also considered the dress for Anlu and her own dress her only responsibilities for this debacle, besides showing up. Fornicatus was already taking charge of the reception, much to her relief, and hopefully Anlu would be willing to cover or at least greatly help with the other bits and pieces for the ceremony itself. Leaning back slightly into his touch, Mori sighed again, this time in contentment. None of that really mattered to her, as long as she could be with Jon. It seemed like the vast, lonely world she knew when she wandered had narrowed down to wherever he was. As long as she was with him and he was well and at least mostly safe, nothing else was important. "I'll find cloth and thread today in the Port, and Anlu if I'm lucky. What about you?" she finished her current train of thought, her voice still soft.

Jon hadn't thought about that. What was he going to do today. Tradition dictated that he wouldn't be able to be with Mori while she worked on dresses and such so he had to think of something to take up his time. "Well if it would help you out I can repair your arrows and such for you? Other than that II'm really uncertain. Might head out at some point and look for my garments, but I have it easy compared to you. I still need to send a letter to Nemo but he will come just for the sake of making sure that I'm safe here, a wedding would just be another excuse for him." He wrapped his arms around Mori from behind her and kissed her gently on the cheek, "It's gonna be great you know, all of this work is going to pay off, I promise." They had time, all they had to do was get everything prepared and tell the captain when and it would be good as done. In theory simple, in practice a b***h to deal with.

"I know it will, love," she assured him, placing her hands over his from where he was holding her in reassurance. Mori was quite comfortable where she was, but knew she had to get up soon. Her curiosity was stirred when he mentioned his garments, though. "What are you planning on wearing, anyway?" she asked, turning her head slightly so she could partially see him over her shoulder. This was the first time he had said anything about them.

Jon smiled and shrugged slightly, "I'll know when I find it, any suggestions? I figured some sort of dress tunic and pants. I have a pair of black boots that will serve after they have been polished properly. That will have to wait though till the week of the wedding so that they stay clean. Most likely it will end up being something simple yet elegant. That is after all the way I think. Nemo will most likely be the same and his hair will probably be pulled back into his tribal braid. He does that for special occasions." It would be interesting to see if Jon could actually find something suiting and comfortable but without having to wear armor that was already a possibility.

Mori somehow managed an elegant snort of laughter. "Love, I barely know women's fashion for a wedding, most of it picked up all over the place," she part teased, part informed. "I'm lucky to know what I'm supposed to wear. You are on your own." However, her thoughts turning to traveling stirred a mental reminder. "Oh! I forgot, Anlu has somewhere to show us as a possibility for the ceremony," she mentioned. "After I get her approval of her dress and her measurements, do you want us to find you so we could see it?" Poor Mori was floundering in all this planning and was grateful she only had a part of it on her plate. If the captain hadn't offered to help... She shuddered mentally, not even wanting to imagine it.

It didn't take much thought for Jon, "Yeah that sounds good, if you can manage to pry Anlu away from Puck for long enough, it seems that they are always together when I see her." He laughed a bit thinking about it, "He annoys the crap out of her. It's quite cute actually." That was a big step, finding the location. If they did like this place then they were to make a huge advance, especially if Mori could figure out what she wanted as a set up, that would give Jon something to abide his time with. Boredom was going to become a menace to deal with in the time between now and the wedding or at least that was what it seemed, especially if the captain did what was right and didn't give him any missions between now and then.

(No missions... That's laughable.)
"He could be worse..." Mori chuckled at the thought. "He could be like his niece. She clings to just about everyone, and I mean physically clings to any limb she can reach." Picking up on some of Jon's thoughts, she rested her head against his shoulder. "You know, this is your wedding too. It isn't all about what I want. I want you to be just as happy with it as I am sure to be." A wedding would join their lives, and she wanted it to reflect that more than she wanted anything else. She didn't want Jon putting his own thoughts and ideas to the side so hers could be first, rather Mori wanted this ceremony to reflect them both equally.

Jon let out a slight laugh, "Trust me Mori, if I had any ideas I would tell you besides it isn't the wedding that is important. Thats just another formality and a bit of a irritating one at times. No what is important is the life we lead afterwards, to tell the truth I'm just relieved that the captain is willing to give us special housing. Who knows, one day you might never have to work at all. Perhaps focus on other things. There will be a bit of both of us in that." He paused for a moment, "Ill tell you what, for now well just keep everything simple black and white and I'll take care of Nemo and I if you take care of Anlu and yourself, no worry there. As for the other small details, we will borrow from the striders and I should have enough time to put together what we don't have. Let the captain have fun with the reception but lets keep the ceremony simple, okay. So there now you have what little input I might be able to offer." It was said by many that weddings were really about the bride and that was true , but Jon appreciated Mori trying to make it something more than that.

Kissing Jon's cheek gently, she said, "That's fine, I'll do just that." Sighing, she looked outside to check the time and made a face. "However, I have to get out of this bed and go to the Port to talk to the merchants about cloth and thread, as much as I dislike the idea, before it gets too late." Wiggling out of his hold, she fully sat up and heard as well as felt her back pop back into place. Wincing only slightly from that and the whalebone ribbing of her corset digging into her sides, she ran her fingers through her hair to straighten it as she sat at the edge of her bed for a moment. Mori wiggled her toes inside her boots to help get the feeling back in them after sleeping with the silly things on before she stood up and went to the dresser set against the wall. Opening the wooden box on top that she kept trinkets in, she found her plain bobby pins and began to carefully wind the mass of raven locks into a bun at the base of her neck to keep it out of her face, the pins making it a much easier task than it had been on the road. Mentally, she toyed with the idea of keeping at least some of the length until the wedding; as long as she kept it pulled back, she could manage it, she supposed.

She always seemed to be in such a hurry once she got moving. Jon tried to imagine himself constantly moving at such a pace but failed to fathom it. "Alright I might head to a different part of the port to send a letter and look through dress clothes. Never really have had anything dressy before. God this is going to take forever. I guess I should start up that letter." Jon wasn't certain though that he was going to be prepared for the reply when it did finally come. This meant permanency with the striders and that he wasn't going to return to the bandits. Nemo wouldn't be to pleased like that, but they were brothers before they were thieves and that was what made Jon hope that Nemo wouldn't take it too hard.

(... rofl Jon's lazy and Mori's hyperactive... They're Rippal! (If you don't know what that means, I'm disappointed in you, Sage... emo ))
Taking the set of pins out of her mouth, she leveled a look at him. "Looking for premade clothes is going to take you forever?" she teased. "Uh huh. I'll let you believe that." Sticking the last set of pins in her hair, she slightly moved her head in both directions to make sure it was going to stay in the bun. Once sure, she closed the small wooden box, only to pause at the sight of her larger, more intricate jewelry box. Opening the larger case carefully, Mori looked inside, noting that she needed to unpack from their trip still, and pick up the garnet red combs she had in there. Picking one up, she ran her hand over the simple flower engravings thoughtfully. At times, she forgot she even had them, or the amythest ones either. "It's a shame I can't wear colors until a few more days..." she said softly, not even realizing she spoke out loud.

((Just for that you are running straight into Nemo first thing when Mori goes shopping. Since she loves the big oaf so much.))
Jon cocked an eyebrow, "A few more days? What is so different about a few more days?" She had so many different odd customs, or at least that was how they seemed to Jon. There were probably some dessert customs she would find strange, like the tribal rights of passage and tattoo magic and numerous others meant to help young men learn to live with the dessert as a companion. He let his feet hang off of the bed aimlessly for the moment not wanting to leave just yet. Something about actually sitting down and writing was daunting. The only other thing he had to do in his room was check on the lotus, but it was no where near ready yet.

( crying What did I do...?)
"It's Midwinter," she reminded him absently as she tucked the comb away. Closing the lid, Mori added, "Or at least, by my reckoning it is. My old village marked it by the second new moon of the season, which is coming up. That probably isn't technically correct, but that's where tradition puts it." Shrugging, she pointed at the wardrobe as she leaned against her dresser. "That's why I even own that one red shirt. I'm required to wear color on Midwinter's Day, or I'm cursed with bad luck till the next major holiday, the second waning half-moon of spring, which is the marker for the Spring Equinox." She rolled her eyes, showing how much faith she put in to the idea of something as simply as clothing choice leading to bad luck. "There's other traditions I enjoy, but I have to find supplies for that as well." Mori mentally calculated her funds and found that she would be alright for cloth, thread, and the little things she needed for Midwinter if she really haggled.

((I was planning on it any way. He is gonna try really hard to get on her good side though. I think you are right though, even though I didn't like FFX-2 as much as others in the series.))
Jon had completely forgotten about the time of the year, "Sorry guess I've lost track of time wince we've been back." He laughed slightly at the bad luck comment, "Weren't you already supposed to be cursed or something for being a half demon, I'm sorry but your old village seems a little extreme with all of the curses and stuff they seem to believe in. Kinda funny when you stop to think about it." He wasn't passing criticism he just found it interesting that this village of hers always seem to want things to cause bad luck, almost as if they wished for it. Either way it was important to Mori so he would help her out with it if she needed and support her in her pursuit of tradition.

(I've played FFX... I've read the script of FFX-2. There is all my experience. *shrugs*)
Rolling her eyes, Mori resisted the urge to throw something at him as she chuckled. "That's because you haven't heard the other traditions, love," she admonished gently. Reaching for her pack to do something productive while she talked, she began to sort out the items inside, the clothes going in a canvas hamper at the foot of her bed while other items were set on the dresser or on her bed. "There's the Candle of Light for one; it's nothing but good luck. You find an hour candle, usually white or a pastel, and carve twelve knotches in it. It is lit at the last hour of Midwinter. However many knotches it burns through by midnight is how many months of good luck you'll have for the rest of the year." Finishing at least emptying her pack, she began to put away her spare set of earrings and her bangles. "Though, I'll need your help for that..." she added as she looked at him out of the corner of her eyes. "Aliluna and lilanu usually light the candle together."
