Aura still didn't lower Soulforge, even though that the difference between real and copy Saradin had been obviously called out. The real pointing out something to the copy and thus a complication in what the copy's plan was. She glared at him, then reached down with one hand to her boot, withdrawing one of her soul stone inlaid daggers. Aura threw it in his direction, the blade implanting itself into the ground at Saradin's feet. "Forgive my lack of trust in you...but chances are something that cannot be taken."

As Ryo's holy aura regained itself from the lack of effort, he gazed around above the clouds, searching for this "River of Light". A glistening caught his eye, and soon enough it led him to the mighty river. Opening the vial, he carefully filled the container with the ingredient needed to cure the brainwashing. "That's the ticket..." Ryo's grin ceased to go away as he darted back down to the earth, gaining speed and enjoying the thrill of the inertia. Moments later, Ryo slowed himself down to a somewhat rough descent. He slips the vial into his pocket and strolls back into the manor. "I got it!"
"Alright Dad! We can get this lock off her mind now! But...that guy left. I dont know where he went. He probably went to tend to Phea or something...We should see what's going on with Aura and the Saradins." Dagan turned to where the fight was ensuing, rushing ot the courtyard at Aura's side. His sword and shield were ready for anything. Ryo was following his son, his partizan at hand and his body still pulsing of holy energy from Taig. Unfortunately, the two were just too late, seeing the aftermath now.

Nailah rolled over and groaned. Her hand hit the book she had borrowed from Aura's private library and she surreptitously knocked it to the floor. It landed with a thud but Niah was too deep in the throes of a dream to notice:
She was in Ancient Egypt, in her old temple. Back when she was learning her skills. But things were different now. She was the same age, and the old people of the temple were strangely missing. Nailah looked around and saw people that she knew. Nadai was sitting beside her, his hand around her waist. He quickly kissed her forehead and held her close. Then she heard laughter from the other side of the room. Looking over she saw all her new friends: Aura and Vincent laughing in a corner. Bastet talking to Kassis, Khenu playing with his electric ball, and Saradin watching it all, his hand on Soulforge. Ryo and Pheaura were there as well, and Syrathos was hovering in a nearby hallway.
Suddenly, Nailah blinked and she was in the middle of the room. The conversations stopped and everyone looked her way. She didn't know what to do. She started to walk towards Nadai but she was frozen where she stood. She tried her magic but none of it worked. Totally confused she watched as her love was on one side of the room, her family on the other. Then out of nowhere came a booming voice, one that sounded suspicously like her father. The voice said:"You must choose. You can not have them both, little one. Choose now, for if you wait, great harm will befall.

"But of course." Saradin tossed away the fake sword he had picked up from his shadow self. "You don't have to trust me." Ignoring her for a time, he turned his attention to the arm that got shot early on in their duel. The wound was almost healed completely, dried blood still smeared along the surface but otherwise closed. Even the bullet had been broken down into the shadowstuff it was first built from and used to reconstruct his body. "But, just don't kill me." He squatted down his hand hovering of the dagger she had thrown. Creeping his hand forward slowly, he reached out with one hand and touched the dagger's blade.

Niah blinked as the voice continued. "You want everything, little one. And you can not have it all. Choose!" The last word was yelled as though the speaker was losing patience. She looked at the two sides of the room and her violet eyes began to fill with tears. Seh didn't know who to choose. Nadai was her love. Her true love. But the others...oh the others were her family. She couldn't turn her back on them, not after they had done so much for her.
Nadai looked at her, his chocolate eyes sad. "Niah, I love you. But I'm gone. You have to move on and let me go. I can't be there for you like they can. Choose them, and let me go in peace."
No!" yelled Nialah. "I love you, Nadai, more than life itself."Her cheeks were streaming with the tears she thought were gone. Now they were back to torment her. She glanced over at the other side of the room. Each of the ones she had come to love met her eyes and whispered something. The others couldn't hear but Nialah could, and their words made her heart break.
Aura smiled at her and said, "Come on Nailah. You know you are welcome here." She stroked Eclipse who simply shook his feathers. "Empath the manor won't be the same without you." Bastet smiled her evil smile and held out her hand. In it she held one of her famous drinks. "Are you sure you don't want one more taste, Nailah?" she laughed and downed the vile drink. Nailah wrinkled her nose and smiled through her tears.
Vincent smirked at her and said rather smugly, "I guess I win the contest then. You still have to prove that Egyptians don't get hangovers."
Nailah was prepared to let a stinging retort fly but she never got the chance. The next one was Khenu, that sweet little boy Nialah loved so dearly.
Khenu looked at her and smiled sheepishly. "You still want to train me, don't you Nialah. After all you did promise." He bounced his ball and laughed when it lit up with the lightning inside.
Nailah wiped her eyes and considered her choices. Nadai's voice broke into her thoughts once again.
"See, Nailah. They all love you. They need you and you need them. They have become everything I was to you. You fell in love with them just like you did with me. They complete you. They make you want to keep living and find the joy in life."

"Did our conflict resolve out here? Anyone wanna give me a five second recap of what I missed while being dead?" Ryo chuckles, looking to Aura, then to Saradin."
"My god, Dad...you are unbelievable sometimes." Dagan shakes his head, covering his face with his hand.

The blade reacted to his touch, a bright what seemed like a band of light leaping from the stone inlaid into the ancient gold, wrapping itself around Saradin's wrist and forearm, tightening itself there. A few seconds later withdrew itself back into the stone, leaving Saradin with dagger in hand.
Satisfied, Aura lowered Soulforge from its defensive position and walked slowly towards Saradin. First retrieving her dagger she tucked it away then offered a hand down to Saradin to help him up. She looked over her shoulder for a moment to Ryo and Dagan. "No alarm...this is our Saradin...and every thing's resolved...for now at least."
Eclipse padded over as well to stand next to Ryo and Dagan, watching on with a still protective attitude.

"Three seconds....not bad." Soon enough, Ryo recieved a swift kick in the shin. "OW! Hey Dagan, you can't abuse your parents if they can't abuse you, ya know!"
Dagan gives his father an evil grin. "I never heard that....or saw it written." Dagan chuckles, walking away from his lightbulb of a parent towards Aura. "What has happend, since...we've been gone? I'm sorry to quiz you like this so soon but...I don't want the hollowheaded man back there to be left behind, ya know." He, of course, was referring to Ryo.

Saradin took Aurah's hand and pulled himself to his feet. While he dusted off his clothes, his eyes hunted around for those who were there for the end of this fiasco. "And may I ask what that was? Find a better way to tell the two of us apart?"

Bastet stopepd at the edge of the woods to observe what was happening in front of the manor. She saw, surprisingly, one Saradin, Dagan, Ryo, Eclipse, and Aura. Seeing that they were not killing that one Saradin, she walked up to them and stood near the door. "So, taking a look at the events that have come to pass this week. I have decided I could use a drink, inside. I think we could all use one."

"I would take you up on that, but I quit years ago..." The light was fading slowly from around him. The last of the energy bestowed upon him had left his body. "And Mr. Mature back there won't be having anything beyond a juice or virgin daquiri...." Ryo chuckled, turning to Bastet halfway into his statements.

Niah was crying once again. She knew she had to choose and in her heart she knew exactly who to choose. But she couldn't make herself say the words.
She looked up as Saradin began to speak. "Hey Niah. Where do you think you're going? We have training to see to. And you will never again get to eat my cheesecake or anything else I decide to make."
The threat of Saradin's cooking made Nailah smile and shake her head. Suddenly the voice spoke again:
I]"Well done, little one. You made the right choice." the voice said.
"But I never chose." Nailah protested.
"Ah but you did. In your heart you did, and that is where it matters most."
Nialah's world spun crazily as the temple vanished. She was standing in her room with Nadai. Her heart cried out in joy as he walked towards her. He smiled his hearbreaking smile. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her slender waist. He brought her forehead to hers and kissed her softly. "Goodbye my sweet Niah. Stay safe. I'm proud of you and the choice you made. It was the right one]." He nodded his head and slowly disappeared leaving Nailah alone in her room. She walked out of her room as though in a trance. She had no idea what made her go to the courtyard but something did. She got into the large space and saw everyone in the manor standing there, smiling at her.
"Welcome home, Nialah." Aura said with a smile.
Nialah raised her arms and smiled. She still had tears but these were tears of joy. She was home with her family. Everyone was there. Saradin, Vik and Munalisk, Vincent, Syrathos, Pheaura, Ryo, Dagan, Aura and Eclipse, Bastet and Kepi, and Khenu. And they were all smiling. She had made her choice. Her friends, no family. Her present. She would no longer live in the past. Nadai appeared by the tree and blew her a kiss. He smiled at her new family. "Take care of her." Then he faded for the last time.
Nialah woke up, tears streaming down her cheeks. It had all been a dream but it's meaning was very real. She had finally let go. She was free. It all seemed too surreal. She looked at the celing adn said, "Thank you." She could have swore she heard the voice whisper "You are welcome." Nialah smiled and fell into a deep sleep.

She smiled slightly. "Well let me explain it to you both. Saradin's doppleganger seems to be having issue with his true motives, he's gone for now." Aura nodded once. "As for the daggers, as I explained before; inlaid into these daggers and the bangles on Eclipse are what are known as soul stones. They can detect the presence of a soul, but can also capture and contain that which does not have one. One touch to anything containing them and you'll know whether they have a soul of their own or not." Aura turned her head to look at Bastet. "I believe a drink would be a great idea..."

"Maybe that thingymabob I smashed was one of those 'soul stones' you were talking about. The demons used it to capture Dad's soul. Then again...I could be wrong. But it's a hunch, right?" Dagan shyly gave a grin to Aura, trying to show off his powers of deduction.

Bastet, relieved that she would not be drinking alone, headed away from them and to the bar to make herself a drink. She turned back to them, "I am playing bartender, what do my fellow drinkers want?" She winked at Dagan and thought to him, "I could always slip you a little something later."
