Oh. My. God.
People in my line of work (namely: VOICE TALENT) are ******** idiots.
For example.
[rant]
There was a booked talent that needed to go to a location for a 4 hour long voice recording session. Scheduled and everything.
I got a call today from the client saying that HE WASN'T THERE. I was like, ZOMGWTFBBQ. I hate this. So I make calls, I leave messages for this man and he isn't answering.
Dude, we're in so much hot water. But it's not even any of our fault's here. Beth, Jenner and myself are working today. There's a guy that works here, he's the second in command (sotospeak) and he's off on an all-day shoot today. Jesse was in charge of this gig completely. None of us here today had anything to do with it. SO ANYWAY.
These clients are pissed. They had a panel of 6 experts there to help with the material, they had hired a freelance sound editor to record, they had the whole nine yards there. And our guy didn't show, which is a HORRIBLE thing. It slanders our name, the talent's name, everyone here.
So they call back 30 minutes later and we talk--they NEVER want to hear the name of the talent in their place EVER again. Like, they're serious. And they were on the speakerphone with Jenner, chewing her out. Us 3 had nothing to do with this ourselves, unfortunately. AND we're in a pretty bad situation because: the owner of the business, who makes the major financial decisions (and also happens to be my mother) is out of town this entire week (she's camping for christ' sake. D': ) and Jesse, who is the second in command, is out of the office today on an all-day shoot. They would be the two to make the decisions. And they're not here. D':
So the guy calls us back, saying he was going to be getting an email from Jesse about location, directions, etc. and it looks like Jesse didn't send it. BUT STILL, he was on hold for this and should have called us asking about details.
So now, it is half his fault, and half Jesse's fault. We're not sure, and the client's pissed and we're pissed.
