Hata Minami (Kitty Little)
Hata tried to ignore the awkward feeling that hung heavy in the air, and turned his attention to the arriving train. "Well, that's my cue," he said with a forced degree of nonchalance. He boarded the train hastily and stood, smooshed between two business men with briefcases. He was starting to get a rather bad feeling. Quit worryin', he told himself, you're just bein' paranoid about skippin' school.
But he was not feeling that little twinge of guilt he ignored everytime he made trouble. He felt something... ominous... and maybe a little threatening, and it had him on high alert.

::Kage followed him onto the train. It was the train he had intended to take anyway, so following him was a bonus, as now he had even more on his plate to look into that before. How did he know this guy...when...where...a racing mind was not good for his head, neither had his fall. What a day this was becoming. Somehow...he managed to acquire a seat not to far back...INstead of letting somone else have it as a gentleman, he simply sat this time...under the circumstances it was easier on him. He cupped his head in his hands for a moment and then turned a bit and continued to stare at Hata while fiddling with one of his earrings::

'Who are you...Why do I feel like I know you?'

::His thoughts drifted off as the train began to move::

Kigen Kenryoku (Nakago)
::The train slowed and came to a stop mid station. What marvels this world contained. Kigen should like to become better acquainted as time and situation allowed. He waited as people began boarding, and the crowd giving way as he moved entered the nearest car, some were standing...some sitting...he only had a moment to ponder however as the door slid closed behind him and then the train moved forward. He stumbled a bit, which elicited a snicker from some nearby riders, though they quickly made light of it. He was moving quicky now...and his destination, approaching::

Kigen frowned. They were now moving away from him, despite his motion towards them. The homeless man had mentioned that there were MANY trains. They must have gotten on one themselves...Visably he only scowled, though inside he was fairly peeved. This could complicate things. For now...he would continue to follow...but if the opportunity presented itsself to go another way...he would not hesitate to take it. It had been a good idea in theory..but n practoice it might prove difficult.::

After a few stops, Hata noticed that the blonde guy had gotten on the train as well. What the heck, he thought as he shivered again, what's the deal with this guy? No one had ever creeped him out so much before, and he was beginning to worry that he might owe the guy money, or had beaten up one of his friends. It would not be the first time something like that had happened, though something was just not right. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, he could hear his mother's voice.

"Hata-kun," she had told him many times as a child, "you always have to do your best for Mama and Papa. Wherever you go, whatever you do, you represent your parents, you're like the ambassador, you carry the flag of our family." She would always smile, and Hata would laugh; his name meant flag, and their joke was cute at the time.

Banner of the South, he thought mockingly of his name, just what kind of people do I represent now? He sighed rather loudly. "Why am I thinking about this now?" he whispered to himself.

Ichiro dropped his papers limply to the floor and leaned back in his chair. He knew that he was finally falling asleep and was comforted that he had memorized a sufficient amount of papers. Looking out the window he scowled for a moment. He could feel something foul out there.

It was not another section of his power...and that intruiged hoim even more than his previous potential targets...so he exited at the same spot they had gotten on the train and headed out of the stattion. With the distasteful screech of metal on metal, the train stopped at what Hata recognized to be his stop. He squeezed between the two huffy business men, zig-zagged his way through the people in the car, and exited, breathing a sigh of relief to be out of that stuffy crowd. This, unfortunately, was the stop where he could never remember which way to go once he stepped outside. He strode up to a nearby map on a wall, and started scanning for his father's office building. Aha! There it was, just a few blocks down; he would need to take a left after he exited the station. Now, what the heck was he going to say when he got there?

We'll burn that bridge when we come to it, he thought sarcastically.

He once more headed for the nearest escalator, remembering that he still had not gotten his cigarette. "No time like the present," he said to himself, some glimmer of hope suddenly reappearing. That strange, nagging feeling that he was missing something, however, curbed his enthusiasm. Ascending on the escalator, his mind went back to the blonde guy. There was something unnerving about the guy, without him actually seeming unusual. It was like, he could not quite describe it, like there was something about the guy he was supposed to have a reaction to, but there was not anything there. Like it had disappeared... a long time ago...

::The screeching train was not a good thing for Kage's head. But what really broke his trance, was that the young man exited the train. At this point Kage stood up and looked around...he had been so entranced, he wasn't sure whether this was his exit...or if they had passed it...or not gotten to it yet. He decided to get off here. worst case scenario..he had to get on another train, either direction....better than going on and then finding out he had to come back...and if he had to go farther, then so be it..next train could take him. He hustled out, grabbing his backpack and squeezing out onto the platform. He paused a moment, looking around, and over by the Mapa Hata stood, and then dissapeared up the escalator. Kage needed to know where he was, no matter how intruiged he was, he had to stay relatively level headed. For all he knew...the guy might think he was stalkling him...He hand't thought about that at first...but now it hit him. He approached the map next and scanned around for known buildings etc. From this map he could see both his work and School. Glancing at his watch, he realized that there was NO way he would make it to his first class in time. He didn't want to go...It wasn't an interesting class...and add to that he was still not quite clear of the effects of the hangover. This was a first for him. And he still had this stranger that was boggling his mind. He paused for amoment at the map, zoning out...in his head, darkness engulfed him...and then there were those eyes, and he bagen to make form and figure of the one bearing them...Long dark hair, fancy clothing...then he snapped back out of it as Ancient armore and a Sword came into veiw.::

'What on earth....'He had no clue why he put the eyes to that person...but he had an image...::

"Screw it"

::He pulled his pack down and grabbed for a small sketchpad, letter size and pulled out a pencil and sketched a basic figure to work from later. A quick model of the head and face as well...with a bit more focus on the eyes...though he couldn't quite capture the feeling he had gotten from those eyes, staring as if into his sould. finall, he closed the sketchpad and headed to the stairs himself, wondering how and when and where he would go from there.::

Hata happily lit his cigarette. He took it slowly, delaying the trip to his father's office as much a possible. When he finished, Hata flicked the butt, and smooshed it under his sneakers as he headed off in the direction of his impending conflict. He did his best to not look like some punk teenager skipping school (which is exactly what he was). He threw his shoulders back, straightened his spine, and walked with eyes forward. It was an alomst regal aura, though he did not manage to turn any heads. His eyes were filled with determination. Yeah, he thought, I'm determined not to walk out of his office without money.

Automatic glass doors welcomed Hata to a rather nice, uptight office building. A receptionist typed away at a computer, and looked up with dismay at the teenager, "Can I help you?"

Hata smile, "Yeah Yamamoto-san, it's me, Minami Hata."

The receptionist put on a pair of horn-rimmed glass that dangled from a tacky chain on her neck. She blinked twice, and recognized the young man before her, "Oh! Hata-kun, lovely to see you again! Your father is in a meeting right now, feel free to go up and wait in his office, he will be delighted to see you!"

Probably not... Hata thought. To the receptionist, "Thank you Yamamoto-san."

"It's nothing!" she waved him off in the direction of the elevator. He pressed the button, and waited for his destiny to descend to the ground floor.

(here's your description Nakago. It was a dark mansion, jagged and looming with peeling dark grey paint and rusty dark green window panes. The yard before the house stretched to almost the size of a footbal field, but the grass was dark and dying from lack of care. Twisted trees sorround the house and intimidating statues of monsters sat before the mansion. It looks like Edward Scissorhand's house with a bad yard xd .)

'How Peculiar...'' ::Kigen thought to himself. Such strange tastes for one who seemed to be considerably wealthy for such a standard of living...or at least how it appeared. Again..he had bungled up too many meetings before...so he wanted to have more information before going into this one. It was completely clear that more of his power resided there...so he decided to inquire of it. He paced across the street to the "neighbors" and knocked heartily at the door, as it was answered, he questioned the residents about their 'different" neighbor across the way. (Again...I think it wouldbe best for you to pick what they say about YOU) ::

(sure Nakago. umm. The people hear rumors that he does sorcery in the mansion and summons demons to murder his enemies. He lives all alone and owns a popular new club, Monster. He attempted suicide years ago before he met the previous owner of the house and revcieved it in the man's will.(miboshi's still up to his old tricks) The man only leaves the house in the early night and returns early morning. You can make some neighbors say things like that. sweatdrop )

The elevator took Hata up to nearly the top floor. He exited and strode down the hall towards his father's office. A few of the business men caught a glimpse of the boy, and turned away quickly. They were not as naive as poor Mrs. Yamamoto, these men knew what the senior Minami was up to. The office was unlocked, so Hata went in and sat down at his father's desk. He didn't know how long it would be until the meeting was over, but Hata was already bored. He played in the swivel chair, spinning around distractedly as he stared at a spot on the ceiling.

"Hata, what a surprise!" a cheerful yet tired voice proclaimed.

Hata spun the chair to the door where stood his father, Minami Yoichi. Yoichi, like every other man in the building, wore a black suit and a pair of glasses that were the result of computer-induced eye strain and too many later-nighters at the office. Yoichi shut the door and dropped a stack of documents on his desk.

"What are you doing here?" he askes, less cheerful now, "I told you not to see me at the office."

Hata got out of his father's seat, "Well, since I don't see you at home, I just thought I'd let you know that Mom's 'allowance' for the month has dried up, and there ain't any food in the fridge."

Hata's father sat at his desk, and started going through folders and papers as they conversed, "Watch your grammar, Hata, I raised you better than that."

Not really, Hata thought, barely able to hold his tongue.

"Anyway," Yoichi continued, "I'm working late tonight, but maybe tomorrow I can talk with-"

"No!" Hata spat, "You're gonna talk with her now!"

"Keep your voice down!" Yoichi cast a wary glance at the door, "And do not tell me what to do, I am your father!"

"Since when?" the boy asked, "When have you ever done anything to deserve that title?"

"Hata," his father warned, "You are really pushing it this time. And shouldn't you be in school?"

Hata stared at his father and laughed, "School? Would it make a difference? I can't even eat, what does it matter if I go to school?"

Yoichi stared blankly at his desk, "You know as well as I do... I just can't make things work out with your mother."

Hata stared at his father, "Try."

Yoichi looked up at his son. There had been something in the tone of Hata's voice that drew his attention.

"You are a coward," Hata continued, "You give up too easily on the truly important things in life. You indulge in other women to escape your problems, and use work to escape your guilt. If anything good is to come out of your life, you must learn to face that which troubles like a warrior faces an adversary. Strong, vigilent, and unyeilding. Look into yourself, decide what must be done, and do it. Do nothing, and your life will only descend further into unhappiness and lies."

Yoichi was stunned, was this his son? Hata didn't seem like himself anymore. His determined eyes spoke of immense responsibility and pain. His face seemed hard and older, his body movements as he paced the room were graceful and diliberate. He had an aura of wisdom and beauty that seemed to choke the words right from his father's throat. It was... otherworldly.

Hata sat down in one of the extra chairs in the office, and turned his gaze to the floor. Yoichi stared at his son, mind racing. After a minute, he pushed his chair back and pulled something out from beneath his desk.

"Hata," he said, his voice a little shakey, "I found this on my trip to Izumo a couple weeks ago. When I saw it, I thought of you."

Hata looked up, the strange aura seeming to fade, his features returning to normal. Yoichi was holding a long cylindrical object, which Hata recognized to be a sword case used in kendo. His father handed him the case, and Hata was suprised by the weight of the object. He opened the case, and pulled out a sword wrapped in fine silk. He slowly removed the silk and stared in awe at the fine, ancient craftsmanship of the weapon. "Dad," he said, "This is a real sword."

"Yes, and it made me think of you."

"And I can have it?" Hata asked in shock.

"Well I certainly can't keep it around the office," Yoichi answered with a growing smile.

"I don't know what to say..."

"I feel the same way," Yoichi said, thinking about something entirely different, "Anyhow, shouldn't you be in school?"

"School holiday," Hata answered distractedly. It was the lie he had planned on using in case anyone questioned a teenage boy out of school at this time of day.

"Ah," Yoichi replied, suspecting a lie, "Well, why don't you take that on home, and tonight, I'll make dinner reservations for teh family tonight at Lee's." He pulled out his wallet and handed Hata a good deal of it's contents, "Take this and get some groceries, okay?"

Hata grinned, and hoped this wasn't a temporary change of heart. "Sure," he quickly wrapped the sword, put it back int he case, and headed for the door, "And Dad... thanks." It was the first time he had ever left his father's office in good spirits.

Yoichi picked up the phone as soon as his son was out the door, "Yes, hello. I like a reservation for three people. Seven o'clock...."

::Kage steeped through the sliding glass doors coolly?he figured he would fit in, suit and tie already in preparation for work. He stolled up the the receptionist desk and cleared his throat::

?Excuse me?Perhaps you can help me. A young man came in here not too long ago?we had spoken for a while on the way over here?but in my haste, I didn?t catch his name?? ::He trailed off, waiting for the receptionist to acknowledge and preferably answer::

Yamamoto-san was eager to please, and flighy to boot. Often enough, some punk kids came in and pretended to know someone on the inside just so they could gain access to the restrooms or something similiar, and Yamamoto would send them away. But when a suit walked in, well, that was a different story.

"Oh you mean Hata-kun," she gushed to what she presumed to be an foreign-looking business man, "His father, the elder Minami, works pretty high up. I cannot say what he does mind you, but he is high on the payroll if you know what I mean. Anyhow, Hata comes in every now and then to pay his father a nice visit, poor man works far too much if you ask me. Good boy, that Hata-kun. Most kids feel awkward going to their parent's workplace. But not that Hata, he's always so polite, and his father always apologizes for any trouble which he might have caused (and he never does mind you). Seeing Hata come in just brightens my day!"

Chuugi Ryu
Sighing, he went into his bedroom, which was suprisingly well-kept after several years of abandonment. Some clothes remained in a dresser, and he change into a pair of indigo-colored silk pajama pants. Ryu threw himself onto the his bed ungracefully, and pushed out all of the day's strange events, in an attempt to get at least a little sleep before he committed himself to spending a day with his parents.

After waking from a rather short power sleep, Ryu dug some clothes out of his luggage and dressed. He picked up his cellphone, and made a call.

"Hello Natsuko, is Ken there?" he paused as the phone was handed over to someone else, "Hi Ken, it's Ryu. I'm doing well... Paris? It would be lovely if you got rid of the Parisians... How's the baby? Glad to hear that. Listen Ken, you still owe for that thing with the guy and the place. I want to take you up on the favor. Tell me," he pulled out Jun'ko's address, "How fast can you get to this address? Excellent! Listen, here's the plan..."

Ryu spoke rapidly, and Ken, who owed him big, was happy to go along with it. "Hell," he said, "It even sounds like fun. And for dinner?"

"I can't really think of anyplace where I will not get seen."

"I know just the place," Ken assured him, "I call you when it's all done."

"Thank you," Ryu said, sounding somewhat grateful.

"No problem, Ryu," Ken answered, "I'll never forget what you did for me that one time with the thing and the guy and the place, that was awesome."

They hung up, and Ryu called his parents. A woman answered in Chinese. "Hello Mother," he greeted, also in Chinese, "How would you and father feel about lunch uptown?"

He arranged lunch for three at his parent's favorite ritzy place, which he of course, detested miserably. But, quality time with the 'rents was how he convinced his managers to let him come to Japan, so he might as well act his part.

Hayashi Ken pulled his best suit from the closet. He glanced once more at the address Ryu gave him. He found his company card from the desk, picked up his keys, and drove off to implement the plan he was now calling "Operation Date." This was gonna be a blast.

::Well..that had been the only person he had seen enter the building within the amount of time..so it had to be. Hata Minami...the name rang no bells in his head. The family name had no direct relation to his own that he knew of, or could think about. Perhaps the company here had dome something for the military..back when...and the "Elder" Minami had knwon or been acquainted with Kage's Father...He pausesd thoughts, memories..sadness...Well..he hadn't intended on staying...so he hurried a bit at this point.::

"That would be the information I was looking for..and don't worry...you need not tell me what the Elder Minami does, I'm not out seeking that kind of inrformation.."

::He thought about aying "Probably had business with the Nakamura Family, to see if she reacted or could give more information without him seeming to be fishing..but he wasn't feeling exceedingly well, all things considered, and this new emotional item that he brought on himself...wouldn't help that::

"Apologies...But I am already late, and now that I have the information..I will be taking my leave."

::With that he took a respectful bow and turned to head out the front doors::

Yamamoto smiled and called out, "Have a nice day, sir!" And went about her merry business.

After some time, Hata came back down the elevator, a new sword case slung over his shoulder.

"Hata-kun," Yamamoto said, "How did it go with your father?"

"Really well," he said, looking quite relieved, "Someone really should give you a raise for always letting me in."

They chatted for a minute, and he headed for the door.

"Oh, I just remembered," Yamamoto said, "While you were upstairs, someone came in asking about you."

"Oh?" Hata said, starting to feel nervous again, "Who was it?"

"Nice young man in a suit, strangest blonde hair," she answered, "He said that you two had been talking, but he didn't get your name. He seemed like such an honest young man..."

"Yeah!" Hata agreed so as not to make Yamamoto feel bad, "He and I talked a lot on the train up here, but we kinda lost each other in the crowd. Nice guy."

He failed to mention that the "nice guy" practically made his flesh crawl with the creepiest familiar feeling that also caused an extreme distaste for the man without even knowing him. But Hata just smiled it off, and finally left. He headed back for the station, and caught the next train back to his house.
