Kale was taken aback in surprise. "W-what? You would . . . do that?"
Quin looks at Ichigo quickly, then back to his feet.

Ichigo took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment then opened them again and looked into Kale's eyes and nodded. "Yes." She said with confidence.

"But . . .You wouldn't be comfortable . . . You. . ." He fumbled over his words. A warmth was creeping up inside of his chest. She would come back to him . . . It would only be for her kingdom but still. She's being a good princess . . . looking out for her people. . . But she would come back to him!
He looks to Quin quickly, "Go. Tell the troops to go home. I'll send a message by bird to the king."
He rubs his temples, then looks to Ichigo.
"It's been done."

"I'll be fine." She said closing her eyes. 'I'll be fine..'
She opened them when he said it was done then nodded. "Thank you..Is it possible to send Ryuu back?" She asked him as she looked at Ryuu with worry.

He glanced at the boy and nodded muttering, "Quin."
Quin nodded obidiently and picked the boy up without much effort. He carried him out of the hut and left the two alone.
Kale looked at Ichigo, not knowing what to say. A part of him was happy that she was going to stay with him, but another part knew better. She was only doing it because she had to in order to help her people.

Ichigo watched as Quin took Ryuu out of the hut and back to the kingdom. She prayed that he would be alright. She sighed softly, running a hand through her blonde then looked back at Kale, who was looking at her. She blinked a couple of times then looked down with a small blush on her face. "Um-um...so..when do we go..?"

Kale continued to stare at her gorgeous face for a while, then looked to the door. "We can go now." He turned and opened the door, holding it for her.

Ichigo nodded, her red blush minimizing to a soft pink glow now that his stare was at the door and exited the hut and waited for Kale to do the same.

Kale followed her out the door, closing it behind him. He started off towards his kingdom.
One of his nobles hurried towards him, "King Kale, is it true we are to retreat?"
Kale closes his eyes. He didn't like giving up like this, but it was for a good cause.
"Yes, tell the rest of the men . . . they can go home." When he opens his eyes they look like those of a tired old man.

Ichigo watched as the noble rode off then looked at Kale and tilted her head. "You okay?" She asked, a little worry showing on her face at how tired he looked.

She tilted her head more then asked: "What did he tell you? If I may ask. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

Kale stared off into the distance for a while then said quietly. "He told me that 'only weaklings will retreat. And all weak beings deserve to die.' "
He smirks, "Well, guess I'm weak then."

ichigo looked up at him and gave a slightly mad face as she flicked him in the head. "You are not. Why do men think that if they run away, they are weak? You are far from it, your doing this for my sake and THAT does no make you weak. Do you understand?" She said in a scolding tone, like a mother would a small child.

Kale blinked at her with surprised eyes then rubs his forehead. "You flicked me . . ."
He was generally surprised she had dared to touch him. Not because he thought her not worthly, quite the opposite in fact, but because he thought she would be scared to touch him.
