Falcon shrugged her slender shoulders slightly. The movements of birds overhead caught her eye; and she watched them swooping and diving. Seagulls. Or Wingulls, that rediculously positive part of her said. She shut it up. It was seagulls.
"I just mean that perhaps, one day, I will go." Her voice wasn't so chilly any more; although it was hardly warm and inviting either.

Murasakiiru comes out of the hat shop
very unimpressed once again and walks
across to the market-place. "I really need
to train Lee..." She looks down at her 1
poke'ball. "Maybe someone here will battle."

Falcon squinted deeper into the water. There was a serpentine shape cutting through the waves... She shook her head. Foolish. But regardless of the water lapping up the toes of her boots, she stepped closer, into the shallows.
What was it? It was no ordinary fish. Falcon felt her heart racing; despite her instincts to quell it, hope rose up like a bubble in her chest. That winding serpentine shape... It wasn't a fish. It wasn't.
It was a Pokemon! Finally!

...Or was it? Doubt crashed in as she stepped further into the shallow water. It was slapping around the knees of her boots now; but she continuted regardless. She had to know. Even if, once more, her hopes of finding her companion were unfounded; she had to know.

She stepped further into the water.

Falcon was waist-deep in the ocean and starting to feel the chill of the salt water. Her short skirt was soaked; and her boots would need a thorough cleaning. Still, right now she wasn't aware of any of this; she was focused solely on the sepentine shape winding itself in a lazy figure of eight.
She was almost in a trance-like state as she reached out her hand to touch the surface of the water. But before her hand made contact with the cold, saline liquid, something burst out of the water in front of her.
Her heart was racing so hard and so fast she was sure it would give out, as a blue and white shape threw up spray, which danced and sparkled in the sunlight; landing on her lips and filling her mouth with the taste of salt. Her eyes were wide as they stared upon the beautiful creature, as it's head stopped level with her own. It's black eyes seemed filled with endless wisdom and purity; and it's entire form was serene and graceful. Falcon knew what it was.
"Dragonair," she whispered.
As if the sound of it's species stirred it, the Dragonair moved; lowering itself back into the water, it swam in a circle around her. Falcon felt peace radiating from it as it came in front of her once more; and she reached out a shaking hand to lightly touch it's delicate face and feathered head wing.
"I've been so lonely." Falcon's voice was soft; she didn't know if the Dragonair would understand her words, but it would surely understand the meaning behind them. "Do you... Will you..."
The Dragonair bowed it's head, before nudging her back with it's nose. She gasped and her heart leaped. She pulled out a Pokeball, nearly dropping it in the water in her haste; but then gazed upon the beautiful creature.
"I'll let you straight out. I promise." It looked up at her, it's eyes seeming to be filled with glee; and Falcon smiled softly, before holding out the Pokeball.
The Dragonair dissolved into a shining orb of pure light; which streamed into the Pokeball. Falcon felt it shake in her cupped hands; before it settled.
She took it up. Her hands were shaking as she activated it; and the Dragonair came out in a blaze of light, and landed into the water again. This time, instead of calling him by his species, she named him.
"Cale."
Cale rested his head in Falcon's outstretched hand; and for the first time in a long time, Falcon smiled a truly happy smile.

A girl rested on the sands of Isle De Gambino. Her ebony, felt hat was over her face as she dozed, hands pillowing her head. She wore a simple orchid-dyed t-shirt with her favorite number on it - 13. Her black pants were of a simple design, tight on her waist, but baggy from the mid-thigh down. Her shoes were slightly unusual having metal tips to the toes. Fingerless, black gloves housed her hands as well as bangles on her wrist and golden armlets attached to her arm. Fire-red hair flowed about in the calm winds coming in from the shore.
Resting beside the girl were two Pokemon: a Houndour and a Dratini on either side of her. The Dratini had it's head resting on the trainer's stomach, coils stretched out absorbing the sun's rays. The Houndour curled up quite comfortably under her arms, back against the trainer's side. It was just another day at the beach for them to relax from the days of traveling and training. There wasn't much to do and relaxation was on all three of the females' minds.

Chrissy sat at the end of the beach on her own, staring down at the water that lapped at her bare feet. She took a handfull of sand and gripped it in her hands in frustration, before she lossened her grip and felt the sand fall through her fingers. She looked over at a few other gaian's sitting on the beach. She was jealouse. Jealouse that a lot of people already had pokemon. She felt stupid now that she turned down the starters that were offered to her. A beutiful charmander and cyndaquill...It was just, somethin about them didn't feel right. They weren't the pokemon she had wanted to bond with, no matter how large her desire was to have one. She turned her head to look at a girl lazing in the sand, a houndour and dratini by her side. She looked at the girls houndour in envy. That's what she wanted. A fire pokemon like houndour, or maybe vulpix. She would have even liked a torchic. But right now, she had to be patient. She let her hands gripp chunks of sand again in frustration. She couldn't wait that long.

Houndour's eyes opened slowly. She felt someone watching here. Lifting her head, the dark dog looked around the beach until her eyes laid on the source: A girl with raven black hair, green eyes and a punk like apparel (as her trainer would have called it). Growing interested, she got up, and trotted over to the human. She began to sniff over her pale white skin and then look up into her eyes. Houndour saw the envy and frustration in the orbs. Maybe she could help cheer the girl up...

Yipping, she began to dance around in the sand, yowling and yapping. Her jolly nature came out as she began jumping, bounding, leaping, and maybe some acrobatics. The dark/fire Pokemon just wanted to cheer this human up.

Chrissy smiled, she didn't know what to do, but she was having fun. She let her hand slide across the steel plate on the houndour's head, and completly forgot she was frustrated. " To bad you already have an owner, huh girl. " She said longingly looking at the pokemon, and then over at her trainer. " She's one lucky girl to have a pokemon like you. " She laughed at how playfull the houndour was being, and scratched beind the Houndour's ear.

She tilted her head a little in question, tail stub waving. At the scratching, the Houndour promptly sat on her bum and got a dreamy look upon her face. She gave little grunts of satisfaction; the itching behind her ear finally stopping.

Giving a yelp, she jumped, forelegs on the girl's lap, and began licking at her face. "Arrooo!" She barked, panting madly. The sun's rays gleamed off her coat and steel plates, making the dull ebony color appear shiny and full of life. Her eyes sparkled slightly as she woofed again.

Chrissy smiled and patted the dog on the head. " Your the kind of pokemon I could be patient for. " She laughed again, and stood up, heading towards the houndour's trainer.

She blinked before returning toward her trainer. Giving off a slight bark, the Houndour trotted ahead of the girl toward her trainer. Tail stub waving, she gave another yap to wake up her Pokemon friend.

Dratini's huge eyes slowly opened. Looking over at Kindle, she noticed the girl walking toward them. Giving a slight yawn, she looked over to the still sleeping trainer. "Dratini. Dratdratininini!" She called out, pushing the girl's hat away with her tail.

"ACK!" She cried as the sun's bright rays hit her closed eyes. "C'mon, Kaida, what was that for?" Slowly, the girl lifted her eyelids and noticed that Kindle was gone. Blinking, she looked over to the other side and noticed her Houndour with another. Sitting up, her left palm rested on Dratini's head. "Hey there. Hope Kindle wasn't bothering you." She gave a friendly smile.

"hmm? " Chrissy said, just realizing the trainer had woken. " Nope, not at all. " She said in a smooth tone. " Actually, she's just convinced me to head into the forest to look for a pokemon of my own. " She said with a smile, as her hand graped around a single pokeball, that was attatched to her belt.

"Really now?" She gave a slight laugh and looked over at Kindle. The trainer suddenly got an idea. "Tell you what, how about I loan Kindle to you to catch your first Pokemon. After you're done, come straight back here, ok?" Grabbing the Houndour's pokeball from her belt, the trainer re-called Kindle into it, and tossed it to the other girl. "That work?" She asked, head tilted a little.

Chrissy was a bit shocked, and her mouth hung open a little bit. She came to when the pokeball was chucked at her, and she firmly nodded. " I'm suprised you'd trust your pokemon with a random stranger. especially with people like team rocket, and snaggem hanging around. " She said in a monotoned voice.
