"You are a very forgiving Vampire." The female voice was cold, indifferent. In truth she didn't care about the Vampire either way. Or the Elf that attacked him, for that matter. It was the third she cared about, but none of them were going to find that out.

Raina touched the ground silently, her landing not even leaving an imprint in the still sand at her feet. She looked from Elf, to Vampire, then back. "You are a strange set," she muttered, pushing her hair out of her face in a deft movement, completely ignoring the third presence. She was more than surprised at the offer she overheard, but said nothing. She'd never heard of a Vampire helping Elves. But then again, she was a Demon, and look at her. So she really shouldn't judge them, should she? "It would be most wise for all of you to exit this place as soon as possible. There is a large desert storm coming, and the sand storms in the Demon Realm are ten-fold worse than those known on Earth." The Demon pointed back the way she came, where a dark cloud pressed against the even darker sky.

At first, Mystic could not comprehend why he was being ignored. Not even so much as a glance from the Demon came his way. I'm missing something, aren't I? Asked the Elf King to himself. Mystic knew she was ignoring him for a reason. He simply could not pinpoint why. Many possibilities ran through his mind, but he concluded that she was concealing their relationship for safety reasons. I couldn't have upset her, he reasoned, trying to convince himself that he had not strained their relationship somehow.

Looking in the direction in which she speedily came, Mystic could see the massive shades of dark blue, dark purple and black.
"Shenlong, our place is not here." He said, notifying him of the departure that they must make from the area. Looking to Nolan, Mystic continued, "If you want to know the reasons of my presence, come with Shenlong and I. A storm is one foe none of us can overcome." With that word, Mystic began to walk in the opposite direction of the storm, knowing Shenlong would follow, along with the Vampire if he was interested. As odd as it felt, he payed Raina back the same respect, not having glaced at her after he convinced himself of her motives.

Nolan listened to both the demon and elf, everything was moving so fast. He was first attacked by an unknown visitor, and now he asked to be an ally with a creature of light. He turned his back to both creatures and pondered on the idea of a light and dark alliance. He spoke loudly so both strangers could hear.

"An ally to the opposing force"? "Leaving my home, for the sake of knowledge".

He pauses for a few seconds.

"I have only one request; Years ago I left the Human realm, severing a love and freindship." "A women by the name of Niku has been all I have thought about for nearly 30 years." "When we parted ways, my soul was sadly rid of this flesh." "I need you to take me to the light realm". "It may take years, but time is not a factor any more". "Will you aid me, in return for a companion."

Raina felt a smile twitch at the edge of her lips. "Nolan, was it?" she asked after a moment. "Most of us have lost someone, and found them again at some time or other. I cannot speak for that Elf..." Here she nodded at Shenlong. "But both Mystic and I will help you. I'm sure he knows of a portal to the Light Realm, though I can't claim to have ever looked for one."

The Demon paused as she felt the air behind her shift. So, he was leaving her was he? It seemed he'd understood what she was doing, but since the Vampire seemed to be an ally instead of an enemy, there was no reason to keep up the act. She turned without another word to either and easily ran to Mystic, falling into step beside him. "Sorry about that," she muttered quietly.

"No need for an apology, Raina. It was strategic. I must say, I'm impressed." Said the Elf King, placing a hand gently on her shoulder, looking over at her slightly with a smile on his face. After a few more steps, Mystic came to a slow halt and turned back to face the Vampire.

He had learned to be quite a good judge of character over his years. Basing his decision on the Vampire's tone, facial expression, choice of words and volume, he concluded that his words were genuine, and that he could be trusted.

"You have a deal, Vampire."
Mystic reached out with his right arm, offering his new companion a handshake. He never was one to turn down a potential companionship. "Consider yourself a friend."

Nolan still with his back turn nods queitly at then responds.

"We musn't let the other darkness beings know of this alliance, for my home still lay in this realm." "And by no means is this a friendship, just an addition to your company." "I will not be satisfied untill the reunion is met, but I will help, to where help is nessesary, I will never risk my own life for the stupidity of others". "Do I make myself clear"?

He turns to Raina, and stares for a few seconds.

"You should know the war still lingers". "I personally don't think the light deserves what they have recieved." "I am sympathetic, and yet still bitter from being enslaved in this dead land".

Nolan coughs and suddenly collapses to the grey sand. His veins feel empty with no life. His last feeding was nearly one week prior and the hunger was getting the best of him.

"We must travel north to my Lair, I must....feed.....soon.".

Nolan colapses, passing out from sudden exhaustion.

..::Edit::

As he falls, a small satchel drops quickly along with him, hitting the ground near his head. Inside the bag hides a various assortment of herbs and paper. Nothing really of use. The only thing that seems helpful is a small letter that reads::

Dear Sir Nolan Toryio.

We have watched your endevours very closely these past years. Lord Damior and myself have called for your knowledgable assistance. We have discovered a realm portal deep within the Gorion Swamp land, and we need your aid to clear out the land of potential threats. We sent you the supplies you need as well as a small deposit of cash. Thank you deeply for your servitude.

Long live the Shadowland.

The letter is signed, and dated nearly 5 months prior to this day. On the outside of the letter is the reagion of where his cave is located, and a detailed description of major landmarks on the way. A guide that the Lords servants could follow to reach his lair

Mystic's rejection was unexpected, at least in his eyes. He did not know at first whether he should be offended or not; his common sense telling him he shouldn't. Lowering his hand back to his side, the Elf King stood still beside Raina, with his usual expressionless face present.

Hearing the Vampire's words, Mystic divulged that he spoke out of potential fear and desperation. Indeed, he found the Dark Realm to be a less than comforting place. He could not imagine living here, thus he kept in mind the fact that Nolan's home resided on this land. Though the Vampire lived there, Mystic concluded it could not be a friendly place either way.

Nolan's question was responded with a mere stare from Mystic. If the new addition to his group had no plans for a friendship, the Elf King had no plans to push the issue. Their partnership was formal, something Mystic had become used to during his time of reigning in the Elven Kingdom. However, he did appreciate the fact that Nolan was rational in his opinion of the war.

Seeing him fall to the ground lifelessly, Mystic wondered how he would have possibly survived if his path had not crossed his and his friends'.
Lucky you. He thought, taking it upon himself to pick up the limp body and carefully place him over his shoulder. Mystic saw this as debatable. He would have much preferred simply encasing him in a wind sphere, however the energy he did have needed to be spared for a potential attack. This realm was not his; he knew there were several dangers unknown to him.

The combined weight on Mystic's body caused his knees to drop for just a second. The Elf King's Fused Sword weighed at least 150 pounds, something that didn't help in the least. Although it's size was not massive, the density and material was incredible. A gift from the Elders of the Sacred Realm, indeed. The bow and quiver equipped on his back didn't help either.

"One of you, please take his axe." Asked Mystic to either Shenlong or Raina. Carrying that item as well would have lasted for less than an hour before his legs buckled. "Raina, this venture will be unfamiliar to myself and Shenlong. Guide us northward, for his sake." Knowing she was an expert of this realm, a great deal of responsibility would be placed on her shoulders. Finding a Light portal would have to wait until the newcomer recovered.

Seeing his friend and master in pain was no easy situation. Shenlong had to assist as best as he could. Without a second to waste Shenlong grabbed Nolan's axe off his back to lighten Mystic's load. With Nolan passed out, and Mystic injured Shenlong and Raina has to hurry if they wanted to find shelter before the sand storm consumed them all.

Raina! We must hurry! For now time is not on our side. We have to get these two to a safe shelter before someone is killed. You our the only one here who has knowledge of the Dark Realm. Please you must North, so we may have chance for survival. The lives of all of us are in your hands. Please . . . . We must depart now!

Even though Raina and Shenlong had never met before, Shenlong had to believe that she is trustworthy and intelligent. His master Mystic seemed to have a strong bond with Raina so that was a lift off his chest, but that was the last thing on Shenlong's mind. As the storm wore closer, and Nolan was on the brink of death Shenlong could only hope for the best.

Raina watched with pointed disinterest as the Vampire collapsed. "You know, if you're going to travel with us, you're going to have to start monitoring your feeding patters," she commented, as the Elf moved forward to pick him up. "And you should not be so trusting of him, Elf. I have seen myself Vampires who use that trick to lure people closer."

She continued to simply watch until she saw the trouble Mystic was having. With a soft sigh, the Demon walked to him, and, instead of taking the weapon, took Nolan. "I am not nearly as tired as you," she reasoned, not waiting for him to protest. "And besides that, I am not effected as you are in the Demon realm." Giving a soft mutter, she shifted her new burden and studied the storm that was still rapidly moving towards them. "We'll have to pass right through the storm's path. The quicker we can move, the better."

Raina looked from one Elf to the other, then shook her head and turned, starting an easy lope northward. "You had better thank Mystic when we get there. Otherwise you'd have been left where you dropped," she hissed to the Vampire.

After assisting Nolan and Mystic as best they could, Shenlong and Raina were ready to depart in hopes to find the location of Nolan's lair. With the storm nearing closer and closer by the second it was time to begin their journey for a safe shelter in time for the storm to pass. Shenlong attached Nolan's axe to his back as best as possible and looked around in case of any forgotten items on the battle field; and to Shenlong's surprise he noticed a small bag where Nolan passed out. Shenlong ran back to where the bag was and bent down to see what it held. When Shenlong open the bag he found a small sheet of paper. Written on the paper was a small paragraph, which seemed to some short of massage from a Lord Damior about the where abouts of a light realm portal deep within Gorion swamp. But that was not what surprised Shenlong the most what he found shocking was a map that lead to the location of Nolan's lair, as well as landmarks along the road. :This could be used as a great help to myself and Raina." Shenlong thought.
Without a second to waste Shenlong ran passed Raina, with the map clutched tight in his hand. He shouted back to Raina and Mystic . . .

We must hurry, there is no time to waste. I'll explain on the way. I have just come into a source of information that will help us on our venture.

"Thank you." Said Mystic to Raina, greatly appreciative of how she understood his situation. Wandering in the Dark Realm for as long as he did felt like a cheap poison. The process of losing stamina was incredibly slow; he was unable to pinpoint specific times of energy loss. However, as he tried to remember the previous hours as they passed, he would recall having more endurance. The energy it would take to travel a kilometer in the Earth or Light Realm would be roughly equivalent to traveling a few hundred meters in this Realm.

What would I do without them?
Questioned Mystic, referring Raina and Shenlong, but at the same time to the three Elders, and more specifically, the lengths they pushed him in his ten-year training process in the Sacred Realm. Due to their methods, Mystic's endurance surpassed that of the average Elf's by a landslide. All of it would be needed in this Realm. It was his fourth day here.

With both Nolan and his axe lifted from the Elf King's shoulders, Mystic refused to be the sole companion not helping. With only the normal weight of his Fused Sword and bow and arrows equipped, he had energy to spare. "You'll have to explain rather fast, Shenlong. We're taking the express route."

With that word, Mystic raised both arms upwards with tension, as if he was lifting a massively heavy object. "Water style, Tidal Wave Summoning!" He roared, as the ground beneath the four began to shake and slowly crack. Water began to leak out of the gaps in the ground, and at an exponential rate, the water began to rise, until at once it burst upwards in a forward motion, forming a twenty-story wave of water. The water at the top of the wave was moving at a rapid speed, however it was contained. Looking down it was pure white due to the velocity. The concentration of water atop the wave was enough to make it feel almost solid. That way, anyone riding the wave unfamiliar with the element of water would feel almost as if they were standing on a flimsy surface, such as sand.

"At this rate, a few minutes is all it should take." Said the Elf King to the two conscious companions, at the same time making sure they were adjusting to the abnormal properties of the wave. "However, I'm unsure if this wave will have the ability to be contained within the storm ahead. It appears several times more dangerous than any I've witnessed in the two other realms."

Not too far off, a dark figure was racing through the desert, his speed was incredible, and he was leaving a big trail of flying sand behind him. He turned his head slightly but couldn't help noticing something that he'd never seen, or even thought was possible. He stopped to take a better look. He was a few miles away, but he had good enough eyesight to make it out. "Well, well, well. Don't that beat all. A demon, an elf, an injured somewhat larger elf, and an unconscious vampire. Such a group is rarely seen not at eachothers throats. Where could they be going, I wonder. I think I'll just follow them a bit on the sly. They'll probably notice me at some point, but who wouldn't? With good looks like mine? Who could resist?" He brushed back his hair with his fingers and frowned a bit. "Damn desert. All this sand's gonna take ages to get outta my hair. Oh, well. Worry about that later. I've got something to observe for now."

It was a rather unusual feeling to be swooped up on top of such a dense wave of water. By the time the wave bean to gain velocity Shenlong adjusted to the new setting and was able to stand freely, as if he were still walking on the desert sand.

After Mystic said that the wave would not be contained within the sand storm, Shenlong thought that it would be his duty to assemble a plan to cross the storm without and casualties. "This will not be an easy task, even if I am able to allow us to cross this storm I will be temporarily drained of most of my energy and major need of rest." Shenlong thought to himself, after soon coming up with an idea to pass through the storm with using as least energy as possible.

All I need now Mystic is to get closer to the storm. Once with about 20 feet I will use my sound element and create a internal tunnel, which we will be able to pass through without and wind or thrashing sand around us.

Raina gave a soft sigh. "You just get us there before it gets any worse. I can handle getting us through it. I've done it before." Unaware of her companion's plan to get them through the sand in his own way, she turned, careful not to loose her balance on this newest trick that Mystic had learned. Her eyes searched the desert, for she could hear a heartbeat, but she couldn't tell were it was coming from. The noise of the wave, the storm, and the normal sounds of the desert were all mixing to dull her senses. "We have a visitor somewhere, I'm just not sure where, exactly." The Demon closed her eyes, and felt the other a short distance away. "It's a low level Demon," she told the others, turning back again. Not much of a treat, at the moment.

"I'd be quite impressed if he could keep up with us." Said Mystic, standing still and tall, extending one arm outwards, guiding the watery transport along its way. He had become quite intrigued with Raina's new-found ability. Remembering the first and only time he had done combat with her, the Elf King concluded that as of now, she was a great force to be reckoned with.

Shenlong was also faring better than Mystic had expected. Although he had spent less time in the Dark Realm than Mystic, he appeared to be managing his stamina with ease.
I chose well, thought the Elf King, proud of his decision to make Shenlong his second-in-command. Looking back at the Vampire, his skin appeared to be a shade more pale than before. Although his body was in a dormant state, he seemed to be fading in strength.

With so much running through Mystic's mind: the Vampire's condition, his own drained condition, finding a Light portal, maintaining his water element and the storm ahead; Mystic became surprised at how fast he had managed to travel, and more importantly, how close they were to the heart of the storm.

"If any of you have a plan, enlighten us now. Within a matter of seconds, our paths will cross with the storm ahead."
Said the Elf King, looking forward with determination.
