I meant it would be hard to hit somone who can fly when you are stuck on the ground you know and the strategic advantages of it make all the others seem pathetic.

There's no best element.
Air's pretty weak because it hardly does any damage to an opponent (due to airbender's principle of all life being precious). Though you have a strong defense if your an airbender.
For waterbenders, they probably have the most powerful techniques but also the most weaknesses.
Earthbenders are balanced. Balanced offense, balanced defense.
Firebenders are strong on the offense and lacks caontrol and defense.
The elements are equal . No stronger, nor weaker (that's only for the benders).
Does that explain it, or did I just do that for nothing?
